Seahawks icon and Hall of Famer Cortez Kennedy dead at 48

Cortez Kennedy, an icon with the Seattle Seahawks who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012, has died at age 48, the Orlando Police Department said Tuesday.

Orlando police confirmed to ESPN that they are investigating the former defensive tackle's death but said "there is nothing suspicious to report" at this time.

The letting go of Clayton comes as the latest in a long string of approximately 100 employees ousted by ESPN in recent weeks. Clayton joins Adam Caplan, Andrew Brandt, Trent Dilfer, Ed Werder, Britt McHenry, Ashley Fox and Paul Kuharsky, all discernible faces that covered the NFL that were also let go as part of the layoffs.

Dez Bryant took the high road Wednesday rather than choosing to get into a war of words with Josh Norman, after the Washington Redskins cornerback called the Dallas Cowboys receiver "just a guy" and questioned Bryant's toughness in a story published last week.

Being from Gator Country but not being a Gator fan, I really was enjoying them not being able to get a good QB. Zaire can sling it way better than any UF QB in a while.

49rs have made some good moves and draft picks to their defense. Hopefully John Lynch can turn that team around quickly.
 
No joke there. I remember that National Championship for Auburn. Dyer was killing it on offense and Fairley was on defense. Saying that, I still am annoyed at how that game ended. That weird run where everyone thought Dyer was down, including himself, and then he ran for like 20 more yards and into FG range to end the game.

He's playing with a drop foot and still has nerve damage. I want him to do well because I liked him in college and hate to see anyone's career end before it even began [even though he plays on that lame Dallas team], but I don't have high expectations for him.
