2017 NFL Draft & Season Chat Thread

NFLPA will ask for rehearing on Ezekiel Elliott's suspension case at 5th Circuit
NFL to play Chargers-Raiders game in Oakland, will monitor air quality
Raiders QB Derek Carr comes off injury report Friday, to start Sunday
Mike Williams says he'll make NFL debut; Chargers cautious
Matthew Stafford (ankle) questionable for Sunday, but appears likely to play

They will have some issues but there's still talent there.

I just think the NFL and suspensions is a joke! It's such a stupid system that I don't believe happens in any other sport

Well when players who are looked up to as role models do things in the offseason/season in general public that may tarnish their reputation there can be consequences. I mean drafting mixon by the bengals was kind of a hit or miss thing to do after what he did on tape. Lets face it nobody is perfect, but these players do some questionable things in their spare time with drugs, hitting women, abusing their son's.. etc... we have all seen it.

Oh I agree! I just think they shouldn't be able to appeal it 20 times. If they don't like the way the NFL works then they should go get a real job!

If you were filmed pulling a woman's top down in public, how would that reflect upon your employer and what do you think they would do? Additionally, what if that happened shortly after you were investigated for domestic violence? Would your employer reprimand you?

Most employers terminate employees for those kind of behaviors, or even less. Teachers fired getting drunk on vacation and getting caught on film. Employees terminated for posting uncouth statements on social media. It happens all the time. The NFL is incredibly lax when dealing with this stuff compared to other employers in the U.S.

100% my thoughts as well.

Ah, I see. I misunderstood your original post.

Wow yep easy there! Lol I have no problem with players getting suspended, it's the appeals.

The appeals is a union thing, FYI. Not much the NFL can do to stop that, unfortunately.

both go hand in hand with most Unions. In mine, you have to royally **** up in order to be terminated...even drinking and drug issues require the Employer to establish an option of help and rehab before being able to fire you.

2017 NFL Draft & Season Chat Thread

I almost picked him up in fantasy, but wasn't convinced he would be a better bet than the other RBs I had; I am regretting that now.

I did. Im just hogging the RBs truthfully. The RBs I have are Kareem Hunt, Carlos Hyde, Melvin Gordon, CJ Anderson, Doug Martin, AP, and Gillislee. I drafted them all except AP. I also drafted Ty Montgomery but traded him and Decker for Brandin Cooks.

KC Is kicking themselves for going for it on 4th down there.... Ugh that may come back and bite them.

Pretty painful. That Brown catch made me get yelled at by the wife because I freaked out. On the plus side, that won me my fantasy game and maybe that promo.

Would rather beat the Stealers in the playoffs. Should give them some extra motivation if they play each other

Washington escaped 26-24. SF had a strong rally in the 2nd half that wasn't enough
Chicago wins in OT @ Baltimore. That was a big W for them on the road
Cleveland loses again ... go figure.. Watson is looking sharp the last 3 weeks and putting up tons of TD's.
Upset of the day Atlanta losing at home to Miami. Miami put up 20 points in the 2nd half to take home the W
NO and Detroit we knew was going to be a shootout and Brees will usually end up outperforming in those situations. NO Owned the ground game (almost 200 yards).
Minn beat up GB. With Rodgers out for who knows how long GB will be hurting. Sucks to know it is his throwing collarbone too.
Shocked at how close NY put up a battle with NE. Brady finds another way to win even though their defense gave up a lot of yards.
Tampa Bay almost pulled off a huge comeback, but Arizona looked good with AP In the backfield. 134 and 2 TD's on his debut
Jags put up some good numbers on offense, but could not pull off a W vs the LA Rams. Gurley and Fournette both had great 100 yard games.
Oakland and their turnovers costed them vs the Chargers. A close game where LA had a strong 4th quarter to pull away the W on the road.
AB, Bell, and Ben pull together and hold off the chiefs on a late rally. The 4th down earlier in the 4th quarter where they could of opted for a FG was a big mistake on KC's part. They lose their first game.

Anyone think the jets got hosed pretty good?

I do. If youre talking about that ASJ TD that was overturned. I think he did bobble the ball initially but i thought he regained control in time for it to still be a td.

Missed half the day of football driving home from Columbus. I will have to catch the highlights tomorrow.

So am I, honestly. Only reason I didn't grab him was because I wanted to hold Jones for a week to see how the carries would be split when Montgomery came back. *sigh*

I think the 49ers got screwed, honestly. That OPI on Garçon was BS, and it completely ended their chance to kick a game winning FG.

Incredibly frustrating game to watch as a Jags fan. We had a kickoff ran back for a TD, a punt blocked for a TD, and missed two FGs. 20 point swing in LA's favor on special teams. Ughhhh.

If you are frustrated. Try explaining how Pittsburgh got crushed by the jags, and turn around the next week and win @ KC who was undefeated.. LOL

As a packers fan I wish Favre would comeback! The Pack goes from Top 5 supebowl favourite to probably not making the playoffs.

Refs were just bad today
The refs are the reason, why the Lions stayed in the game. Hard to beat a team when you have extra players on the field wearing zebra stripes. 90% of the penalty's called on New Orleans where bogus. And the "interception" call was bogus as well. He caught the ball possessed it all the way to the ground, and then Slay ripped it out his hands after the tackle. How that wasnt overturned is beyond me. Think Sean went into protect way to early and you could see that in Drew's face during the second half. Sometimes when your rolling just keep rolling if you put up 100 points on a team, then thats what you do. If you go into protect to soon, your defense gets tired from being on the field so much. But with Rodgers gone. The Saints schedule is looking alot better, and may take the NFC South with ease. With yesterday's win it moved them from the 8th seed to the 6th seed

G-Men get their first win over a strong Denver team. Osweller also made an appearance towards the end of the game.

Al Riveron, the NFL's senior vice president of officiating, said Monday it was "clear and obvious" to overturn New York Jets tight end's Austin Seferian-Jenkins' touchdown catch in the fourth quarter Sunday against the New England Patriots. Riveron said the ball was loose when Seferian-Jenkins went airborne and was contacted by a defender, making it a fumble. By rule, a player has to re-establish possession before he hits anything out of bounds, and the Jets tight end didn't do so as he crashed through one corner of the end zone.
