2009 College Football Season

I thought they would win but not like this it's completely non-competitive.

I'm loving this right now. Florida is completely embarassing them at this point; all with Tebow having a career day throwing the ball.

My birthday wish is almost complete. :D

you just grab that bottle of lotion and tissues and wait the requisite amount of time after child birth and have at it with the Mrs.
You can use the pics as "inspiration" in the meantime.

Thank god that time is rapidly approaching. I'm about to get on a 14 week Dbol/Test cycle, so I'm gonna need some lovin'!

Happy New Year, Buck. One of my resolutions is I'm going to try to not argue as much with people in general; I think I'll at least make it until September, lol. :D

True hey that's a good 8 months of follow through on the resolution that's better than most.

Happy New Year to you as well and belated congrats on the birth of your child.

I just tell myself it's "debate"... as if from some philosophical standpoint, talking smack to others about things that are ultimately quite unimportant... is socially acceptable. A form of intellectual exercise, if you will. On that note: The Big Ten is stupid conference.

Seriously, I don't believe half the things I type on here... but man, it's a lot of fun to bicker with a bunch of college football-lovin' strangers!:trout::nutkick: :fing26:

Gators

I thought they would win but not like this it's completely non-competitive.

If Gators couldn't be in NCG, I guess this was about as good as it could get.
Thanks Tim Tebow and Gators senior class - winningest senior class in SEC history (47) including two 13 win seasons, 2 National Championships and 2 SEC Titles. It was just absolutely great watching you these last 4 years.

Also,
Congrats to PSU (plenny) - JoePa sure has the SEC's number!
Congrats to Bucks (bucknuts, warnerve, etc) - those conservative hats finally came off!!
Congrats to Auburn (hoOther) - won that game twice?

Oh, and a Big Thanks to VT for showing that a-hole Lame Kitten some humility. (The Vols are the only SEC team I root against).

GO TIDE

How bout my Gators, boys?!?! I think Tony Pike is beginning to like the taste of dirt. :D

GO GATORS BABY!!!!

Seriously? A team that lost their HC, internim HC, and was abandoned and lied to by the one man who brought them to any kind of football success didnt play well? Shocker, no one called that. Good win....

Also, LSU lost based on those god awful field conditions. LSU thrives on the skinny, lean burners and what happens when you take that away? You lose to a inferior team.

And LOL at the whole Pac 10 right now. USC going down hasnt been good for them, its been hilarious for us though. I mean, really. They didnt rise up and USC went down, they just all went down and got exposed for what they are. Football players in california are just the natural freaks who never had to work as hard as other places where football is more relevant, culturally etc so when they get hit in the mouth, they are like, waaaaaah.

Horse sh*t. Miami and Wisky played on that field when it was bad. You don't see me on here talking about how it hindered our speed guys.

Now I will grant you it was worse yesterday than Tuesday night. But still.

The field wasn't the reason Patrick Peterson got burned by some slow white dude. He's the one that bites on the pump fake nearly every time.

:24:

Nope, just one BIG excuse right there. :yawn2: The true heart and desire of any team is tested in the face of adversity; they failed miserably...

In other words: better call the whambulance.

Have fun getting slaughtered by Bama! :bigok:

Kelly ripped the heart out of that team. If you dont get that, you are :wt: that needs to :bryce:.

I figured the major bowl games would wake this thread up again.

I don't normally pick against SEC teams, but I really like this UConn coach and the character of the team. That, and the S. Carolina offense has been non-existent half the season... again. (Wtf, Spurrier?)

Looking for Mallett to put on an NFL audition today. I'm just never sure how reliable the Hogs' defense will be.

rubberring... Look who's in first place in college bowl mania. The guy who picked Texas to beat Alabama in the NC game! Hook Em' Horms!

Hmmm... looks like there's a new leader on the board. Pretty sad when a 15-13 record is enough for first place!

You guys can't catch me. :nono2::spankme::icon_lol: :swordfight::chairshot::arms:

Interesting tidbit: Since 2003, the SEC has an 11-3 record against the Big 12 in bowl games, including a 2-0 record in the NC game. Doesn't mean much, as the all-time record between the two conferences is pretty even, but I never realized the disparity in match-ups at neutral sites.

:lame:

You can try to rationalize it anyway you want, but the reality is it's still nothing more than a bonafide excuse; if you need help with the definition, look it up.

You're the one that needs to :bryce:.

What a great way for Tim Tebow to end his college football legacy:

This audition isn't going so well. But hey, maybe that's a good thing for Razorback fans. He needs another year of experience.
Yes, that game was terrible to watch. You could tell the Razorbacks showed up flat. ECU lost that game much more than we won it. I think this ends all the the "Mallet to the NFL talk". The only game where our offense was more useless was the Alabama game. I am still very excited about next year. The core of our team will return.

Now I can't wait for the Fiesta tomorrow.

I'm boycotting the Fiesta. It's completely asinine and retarded that TCU and Boise have to play each other.

It's like sending them to the little kid's table. Retarded.

Match the Frogs up against the Gators. Match Boise up against Iowa in the Fiesta and Cincy up against GT in the Orange.

Retarded. Retarded. Retarded.

Who knows with them - they are coached by the Mad Hatter - Les Miles.

Anyway - big win by OSU. I'm more fearful of the game in Columbus now that I see Sweater Vest is willing to turn Pryor loose and play to his strengths.
(Not that I thought Miami was a shoo in to win up there - you know what I mean.)

You know I've been thinking about how to interpret bowl results for the next season.

One of the things about bowls is that it's one of THE most unique events in sports. You get over a month off to game plan, heal, etc.
Generally if you want to win - you gots to go against the grain you set that season if it's a fairly even matchup.

The thing about OSU that I saw that Sweater Vest broke a lot of tendencies I saw out of them on O during the season.
The thing about UM that I saw was that Whipple (the OC) broke absolutely no tendencies in the bowl game. I think this is because Whip has forgotten what a bowl is like - was in the NFL for a long time.

Now comes down to a few things for next season.
Does OSU continue to let Pryor loose, so to speak? Does Pryor progress as a passer? We know he can run.
Do the Bucks continue to start slow like they did this year (Navy)?

Does Jacory Harris gain any weight??? Does he progress as a passer and stop being such a gunslinger that throws plenty of yards, TD's but also sometimes backbreaking INT's? Does he recognize when to throw it away and went to take off and run? Does UM have a go to RB when it needs tough yards? Does the OL continue to suck for half the season?

I dunno about all of this.
What I do think is we shouldn't place so much stock in a bowl performance esp if a team broke a lot of it's tendencies. Hard to say if they continue that play calling into the next year.

Anyway - carry on mates.

Que Pasa? Explain yourself man... Seriously though, not sure what you are saying with the Navy reference in there.

I think the bowl game does matter in OSU case because if Pryor stunk it up then next year might look a lot like this year, Woody ball 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Ohio State has not always been conservative under Tressel the offense was much more wide open when Troy Smith was there the issue has been trust, Tressel didn't trust Pryor to throw so he didn't throw unless he had to. I think going forward the offense will look more like the 05 & 06 Buckeyes, at least I hope so. The offensive line played so good the last 4 weeks of the season and the bowl game and that has been an Achilles heel of OSU for years and they will all be back.
I'm looking forward to 9/11/10 could be a great match up.

Fair. But a few weeks of poor fall practices might change that.

Dunno on JT. Never know with him.

Yeah should be a good game. We return a lot of guys. Not sure what that means. Some of them need to be coached up and I don't see a lot of that. Seems like we bring in a highly ranked kid and he never progresses until the NFL, when he turns into a Pro Bowl player.

Didn't Navy either tie (or take the lead) the game with a 2 pt conversion that Rolle took back? They are an OK team but not great in the least.

What I saw seemed to say OSU slept walked through that game.

Ah, I see what you're saying. Navy will never be a great team, it essentially physically impossible to say the least. I love them being Navy myself, but the Midshipmen have to adhere to a set of height/weight standards that obviously the other teams do not. Until that changes, there isn't even any reason to go into discussions on conferences and coaching etc.

Bammers love stats.

Muschamp says, "Stats are for losers. I like winning."

Nevermind that 2-0 in the NC is OU...who has lost how many BCS bowls in a row now?

Well I gotta ho myself around before I can rep Rubber again.

Great sign.

buck - what Orygun guys? We've had them on our board??

BTW - how do we find out who's had the most posts in this thread?? I know on BB.com you can do it - not sure about AM.

Maybe I'll PM a mod - curious how everyone shook out after the championship game. Figure we can move to a signing day thread. Then a '10 thread later in the spring/early summer.

2 of them showed up in the thread in the last couple weeks to say the ducks are gonna kill my Bucks. :nono2: They haven't been back since the game though. No congrats, no reps, nothing.

I'll rep you on being a retard.... Hope everyone appreciates my upset pick of Boise to tie me for the lead with rubberring on Pick-Em.. :)

I appreciate that it was your only move, strategically-speaking. Honestly, I thought TCU would win it handily. Guess that's why they play the games.

Btw... I noticed the web site on the poster needs to be changed to Invalid Link Removed

Jeff and Jim are good guys. ;)

We're (Primordial Performance) based out of Oregon, so they're all ducks out there; however I still represent the "Gator Nation" in the company, haha. :D

They've been slammed with order related stuff with our current sale.

It's really not hard to guess why they think they would "kill your Bucks". All you have to do is look at the Buckeyes impressive record the past 3 bowl games in which they got demolished in. It's the buckeyes to credit for making the Big 10 a joke and the reason it'll be hard for them to get another National Championship game chance in the near future...

Ohio State is 5-3 in BCS bowl games. What was Auburn's record in BCS bowls? Ohio State has played in 3 NC games and won 1. Auburn?
Don't be bitter lil fella just because your big bad SEC team needed A LOT of help to beat one of the Big Ten's middle of the pack, mediocre teams. Then again your team is very mediocre so it should come as no surprise they should have lost.

I never once stated Auburn was a top level SEC team in this chat. I was pushing the SEC. So why dont you stick with that argument instead of branching out on that.

Yeah.. Auburn was a BOTTOM of the pack SEC team with a completely new coaching staff in rebuilding mode this year. So them beating a middle of the pack big ten team does help show the SEC strength. 5-3 and 1-2 ! That's great. Too bad I wasn't comparing Auburn to Ohio State. You think Ohio State is the top big ten conference team so I believe I should be able to compare them to the SEC's top schools. Best way of doing so? I'd say the head to head matchups under the biggest lights of college football, the NC game. I got sick of seeing them talk down on Ohio State the last few years and watch the commentators and BCS bowl reps pray for Ohio State to lose a game so the country would not have to watch another one of there teams get completely destroyed, I know it had to pain you too. I'm sure this year when you found out you get to play a team from the only other conference as down as your own you, you jumped for joy. You thought maybe if we can beat these "DUCKS" then we will look legit again. Well chief, you dont.

And by the way.. here is the SEC's records in the BCS NC Game.
LSU
2-0
Florida
2-0
Tennessee
1-0

And another stat(Only because you LOVE your stats so much)
BCS Records Southeastern - .706 (12-5)
BCS Records Big Ten - .421 (8-11)

Now we see when the best teams in each conference play on the biggest stages.. it looks like complete and total domination to me.

I do have to point out that I can't understand why everyone hops on the "its cool to hate Ohio State" bandwagon, when in reality Oklahoma has performed far worse in big bowl games over that past 5/6 years. It is just as equal of an argument to say that the Big XII is one(possibly two) trick pony as well. UT and OU. I realize every now and then Oklahoma State has a good season. The Missouri argument doesn't hold up too well because they can't beat Texas or Oklahoma. Nebraska hasn't been that good since the glory days (Pelini may have them on the upswing though). I can guarantee to you that up until this season, USC has been the only PAC 10 team worth talking about (on a side note: I have lost track of how many NCAA infractions get swept under the rug at Hollywood U). While USC has been great, they are the only PAC 10 team who has been great. Since the downfall of the U and Florida State there really is no discussion for ACC and the Big East. Cincinnati got a taste of big boy football this weekend and the game was about as competitive as most educated college football fans expected it to be. I'm not joining sides or jumping my SEC ship, I just see a double standard. Is it the end of the season that has me being very comtemplative? Am I having blasphemous thoughts? Maybe I am upset the Mayans will be right?

I fully expect to see Orwell's Thought Police at my door when I get home tonight.

 oh no not another SEC is superior to Big ten debate! I don't want to go there again, do you need me to repost the results of head to head meetings for the past 10 years and shatter the illusion of superiority? Now mind you I concede on the point that SEC is the best football conference, but the gulf is not as wide as you have led yourself to believe. If you want to compare conferences though you cannot pick and choose. You can't say look how bad Ohio State sucked in those NC games and ignore all the other head to head meetings, how convienent that would be for you though huh?

Lighten up a little man, Auburn wil be back they put a good team on the field every now and again.
