2009 College Football Season
No Penn State doesn't play in the SEC rubbering they are in the Big Ten the conference that everyone loves to hate.
But we do love you BUCKNUTS, even though you beat my friends at PSU.

Should be an interesting game for you this weekend with Iowa. I wonder if Stanzi will be able to play??

Gators have tough game against South Carolina (at SC, at night). Spurrier always gives us nightmares.

S. Carolina's no cupcake. The Alabama @ Mississippi State game scares me a little too. No doubt Bama won't have a problem getting "up" for Auburn, but this Saturday feels like the perfect trap game. The Tide will need to score early and often to put this one away.

Yes, Dan Mullen is a very good coach. We really miss his offensive mind here in Gainesville since he left for MS.

Just called Alabama to warn them about the 3rd-best team from the world's most over-rated conference returning mediocre players, and here's what I got:

"Hi, you've reached the University of Alabama football program. We can't come to the phone right now, as we have a conference championship game to play in, a national championship to compete for, and we're relevant. Please leave a message... ((Elephant roar))"

I gave them a call as well, and here's what i got:

"Hi, Y'all reached the university of that there alabama football program. We cant come to the phone right now, We are down yonder on the shores of the gulf of mexico restin in the sun, because the SEC championship game is fixed for Florida to win. We agreed for it to be fixed because The Gators spent so much time and effort in marketing Tim Tebow, but we will get a cut. Don't call back becuse Nick Saban may not be here next season, afterall we had 30 coaches in our history. Please leave a message...(( Forrest gump's voice)))"

OMG, like you soooo squandered your opportunity for a clever comeback. Tee-hee!

Hey plenny, since you mentioned my name, I figured I'd let you know that I've been a-sittin' here frozen in time since 1995... the last time Penn State won a Rose Bowl... and it occurred to me -- the only real difference between me and you is, well... I'm a fictitious character.

What were they thinking??

Richardson and Jackson were among ESPN's Top 20 from last year's recruiting class:

From AP:
Less than a day after Lane Kiffin bragged that no football players had been arrested in 11 months at Tennessee, that record came tumbling down. In a big way.

According to police at 1:43 Thursday morning, three freshmen on Tennessee's football team, safety Janzen Jackson, wide receiver Nu'Keese Richardson, and defensive back Mike Edwards, were arrested and charged with attempted arm robbery. The trio allegedly attempted to rob three men parked in a 1998 Hyundai Elantra at a Pilot gas station on Knoxville's Cumberland Avenue.

It's getting depressing how often stupid things like this happen in college football. Think about that the next time you want to bash Tim Tebow for being a Chrisitian, or a virgin, or a missionary. :sad3:

wow. psu fans have a lot of time on their hands now that the season is over. early. again.

a buddy of mine scored 4 tickets for the indy game..its amazing how all season long it was like pulling teeth to get home game tckets, now after a 2 loss season there everywhere.....im thinkin about goin....only have an hour to decide

Damn, McCluster's making the Tennessee defense look silly... and it looks like Houston's going to lose.

Oh, and this just in... Rich Rodriguez is so popular in Ann Arbor, they're paying for him and his family to travel to Cabo. The tickets are one-way and the plane leaves Sunday morning.

When will the SEC opposition learn that wearing black jerseys against Alabama just never works out?

(C'mon Auburn... black would look great with blue and orange.)

Well, Congrats BUCKNUTS.
A few weeks ago I wouldn't have thought you had a shot.

I have a new idea for a book "Purdue to Pasadena". Would probably only sell well in Columbus.

Yes, congrats! Great game to watch. And what I'm about to gripe about has nothing to do with the Buckeyes. I respect the program tremendously for having consistent success. Not hating at all. But I have to tell you... I have no idea how the pollsters can, all of a sudden, blatantly leapfrog Ohio State ahead of LSU (not to mention a one-loss Pitt team). They both have the same record, but OSU lost to Purdue and a less-than-stellar USC team. Meanwhile, LSU's losses are to the #1 and #2 teams in the country. Talk about a manipulated system. It's like the word has been put out that the Big Ten champ has to be bumped in the BCS standings.

That's not to say LSU would trounce OSU if they played. Actually, I think it would make for an excellent match-up this year. The two teams are very similar in how they win games... brutal defense, a good ground game, and taking advantage of turnovers. Too bad they won't get the opportunity.

Btw... If Alabama doesn't make it to the BCS title game, I'll be at the Rose Bowl this year. The Buckeyes will have their hands full if either Stanford or Oregon makes it to Pasadena. So, BUCKNUTS... come on out West and we'll tear up the town!

I never know how the polls work exactly, I agree with you their losses are better than ours maybe conference championship gets BCS points?

I was disappointed in the Buckeyes 2nd half performance, especially the special teams but the defense as well. All year this team has not given up any big plays you earn everything you get against them but yesterday they got gashed a few times on big passes and the kickoff return for a td drove me nuts. When you play the type of game Tressel likes to play you better have excellent special teams and we don't for the first time in the Tressel era. Our punter repeatedly gave them a short field to work with. I think the Buckeyes have finally figured out what they need to do to win and that is run the ball, 200 + yards rushing for 4 straight games and Pryor has been efficient, not a lot of yards but a high completion percentage and NO turnovers.

Me coming out west is a possibility, my wife is from L.A. and all of her family still reside there abouts, after the game she made the comment that we should go to the game and she can visit family. I have never been to a bowl game of any kind and I would love to go to the Rose Bowl. I better start campaigning hard for the trip now. Honey have I told you lately how much I love the Buckeyes... I mean you... how much I love you. :flowers1:

From ESPN's website:

There was Ohio State's Jim Tressel, the sweater-vested genius who writes self-help books about life, unable to help himself. Armed with a two-touchdown lead with 11:32 remaining in regulation, he watched the Buckeyes allow a 99-yard kickoff return for a score and have their own interception and touchdown return nullified by an offsides call. So what did Tressel do with 2:37 left and the score tied at 24-24? He shut down all creativity, went ultra-conservative in his own end and punted. In the process, he didn't utilize the running and passing talents of Terrelle Pryor, who might be one of the dynamic weapons in the college game if Tressel wasn't stuck in the 20th century and had a clue how to develop and utilize a two-way quarterback.

Ouch!

Now, when penn state beat ohio st in 2005 and 2008, ohio st was "co-champions" while penn state was champions....so maybe penn state will be "co-champions" in 2009..i know it sucks, it steals your thunder...paybacks:saroll:

This is typical national media hatred of Ohio State , I've grown used to it and couldn't care less anymore. I criticize OSU and that's ok, it's like how when your little brother walks by and you kick him in the butt and give him a giant wedgie but let someone else try that and it's on. Hate all you want the record speaks for itself we have been and will continue to be relevant on the national scene. I do agree that the play calling was ridiculous down the stretch, Farentz's was even worse IMO.

That would require us to lose to Michigan and Penn State to beat Michigan State neither will happen, better luck next year plenny.

rubbering we didn't jump LSU in the BCS poll you must have meant AP or USA Today poll. We got jumped by Pitt in the bcs and we beat a ranked team and they didn't. Pitt hasn't beaten anybody all year, they beat an unranked Notre Dame team and we beat a top ten Iowa team and got jumped  USC all the way down to 18 never would have guessed that would happen. How did you guys like Harbaugh going for 2 up like 20 points on USC? Reminded of Woody Hayes going for 2 when up 36 points on Michigan and when the media asked him why he went for 2 he said "because I couldn't go for 3" that's a hated rival right there.

BCS Standings

Yeah, I was referring to the media/coaches polls.

How did you guys like Harbaugh going for 2 up like 20 points on USC?

L-o-v-e-d it. You can read Carroll's lips when he met Harbaugh at midfield after the game. He asked Harbaugh, "You alright?"

All I have to say is -- "How you like them apples?"

Exactly because USC has been running up the score on the Stanfords of college football for years now and Petey Carroll is always so smug about that sort of thing, payback is a bitch. I thought it was great. I heard someone on ESPN radio suggest that meatchicken was going to pursure Harbaugh as it's next coach I haven't heard that from any other source but he is a "Michigan man"

They have still only lost to a #1 and #2 ranked team in the country. I agree they have looked like crap in some games. They haven't done too bad with a 19 year old QB at the helm though.

I know their record is good, it usually is, but it's been a few years since they've played like they deserve to win.

Nor does the over-hyping of the SEC

Are you being serious? I'm so used to all the hatred around here I'm not used to any form of support. Listen to me I sound like I need a support group or something.

Dead serious bro, I hate Nick Saban, I hate Tebow or however you spell that (shouldn't call him that) name. Florida State's not too bad. I need to move north, get out of the SEC.

West coast is out of the question for sure, lol.

I have a gut feeling you'll just end up here:
