13 Weeks to RPS Rawdawg Nats: Herder's PUUUGHE Comeback

Bonus points, smoker. Combine carbs and fats in the same meal. For instance, pancakes, syrup, fried hash browns, fried steak, eggs, and gravy on the steak and hash browns.

EDIT: FÜCK. I want it to be Saturday right about now.

This would be why you haven't seen the right side of 190, if that is indeed true. You must learn to combine carbs. Ever mix rice and potatoes? Delicious. Also try mashed potatoes on garlic bread. Or garlic potato sweet potato hash. Or rice and pea mash on potato bread. I know, that last one just blew your mind.

I like.

Might I piggy back?

Obtain a gigantic ass, soft, warm, dinner roll. Rip it open with your bare hands. Insert garlic mashed potatoes and gravy inside of it. Next, place slab of meatloaf on top of it. Devour. Take your shirt off to wipe your hands with.

I do not like potato bread.

I don't really to like to combine sides, unless it's a pea pie, which is peas on mashed potato or white rice.

I'm starting to eat a lot more, and after this whole cut weight extravaganza, I'm going hard. I'll be 210ish by the summer. I have no doubt

Dude, I do almost this exact thing with ham. Cooked a huge sliced ham this weekend. I like to butter a dinner roll, stuff it with ham, top it with potatoes, and drizzle ham gravy on top and chow down.

Oh my god I wish I had one right now.

Sometimes for dinner I'll make a steak and cook two over-medium eggs to put on top. Then, when I cut into the steak, I break the eggs so the yolk drips down and mixes with the steak juices and use that as a sauce.

If you wanna get stronger, you're gonna have to lift outside of your comfort zone. If you wanna get bigger, you have to eat outside of your comfort zone. Steak and eggs is amazing.

I think you'd be better off trying to outweigh my skinny brother first. He's currently 193. Then you can outweigh my baby brother, who's 212. Then you can take a crack at me.

Btw, (to all) got my accurate scale to take on the trip. Scale from previous weigh-ins was indeed three pounds heavy. So the lowest I've been was 228.5, weighed in this morning at 229, and weight just now was 230.25. Not bad a-tall.

Nah man, go big or go home. I'm coming for you, in a non Liam neeson taken type way

Lucky for you, I don't enjoy the fact that I'm 10lbs over with three days to go. So I'd say you won't have to weigh more than 235. Fyi, 235lbs = a lot of steak and eggs.

Somebody needs to 'splain this to mrs napalm. She tells me to stop eating like an animal...
My mother says that to me when I come ovwe to her house for dinner.

I will outweigh you by November 2014.

You guys do know that if you get close to 230, I'm gonna jump to 250, right? All I'd have to do is start eating breakfast again. We'll see what you say when you can't close your hands or tie your shoes, it definitely gives pause. Hence the two weight drops I've done this year. It's not all linear for 12 months out of the year, unless you're ok with a BP of 160/110.

I smoke I have smoked for 7 years, I do not concern over bp. There are a lot of things I try to do healthy and all the good whole foods stuff, but when it comes down to it, I smoke so snything healthy I do kinda cancels sht out

Not if he is in the other weight class. Hahahaha.

Get your own goal Jim
Bro, my goal has been to compete SHW for a little while.

Which would mean I'll outweigh Herder.

Meh, my BPs been high since I was 16. Not a single **** given, plus if I tren hard enough I won't have that issue. (tying shoes I mean) :biglaugh:
Why is anyone's goal to weigh more?

If he weighs 215 and you weigh 230, but he's stronger, than he wins. Lol.
I could care less about weighing more than you guys, but I do care about competing in a higher weight class. Which ultimately means I'll weigh more.

BOOM. I wouldn't head up to 275 if guys are whoopin my ass at 220. I played the jump weight to get away from guys game. I played that my senior year of high school, half of the guys I was running from had the same idea. I could have possibly qualified for the state championships if I had stayed where I was best suited. Possibly, hindsight being 20/20.

Besides, I'm getting fat as it is. 23-25% BF is not for me. I'm no SHW. No desire to be one. Maybe a 275, but I doubt it. I wouldn't compete there unless I couldn't cut to 242 anymore. Which is about 20lbs bodyweight from where I am now, at least. So, about 35-40lbs of muscle? I don't know if I'll ever be able to eat that much or drug that hard.

So Jim, you have high BP and you're going to try to put on 50lbs next year? That doesn't sound like it'll help your performance any.

Lol. I wasn't talking about bedroom performance. I was talking about things like car deadlift for reps, 100' farmers walks or yoke walks, and things of that nature.

Wtf were you trying to weigh again? Sometimes, you're an enigma, wrapped in a riddle, shrouded in mystery.

I know. I go off 3 different scales, all varying in weight dramatically but I go middle scale and it said that. I need to be under 181 by Sunday morning.

How you gonna do the atlas stones with a massive, rock hard erection? :D

Use it for leverage.

Funny story about that: Travis Ortmayer was telling this at the Fitness 1-on-1 competition. Apparently, during one of the big competitions he did in 2011 (either the Arnold or something like that) the judges tried to disqualify his stones performance because they claimed he took viagra before it and it helped his performance on the event.

Morning deuce (slept in, don't judge) now has my weight down to 226.6.

7.9 pounds down, 6.1 to go. Haven't even dropped water or food yet. I really wish I had known about this when I wrestled.

Always go heavy scale. You'll be a sad panda if you show up at weigh ins and have to put on a garbage bag, a thermal, two sweatshirts, long underwear, two sweatpants, and a Carhartt and do sprints for 15min. Trust me, that sucks when you're in fantastic condition. When you're in powerlifter condition, it's gotta be much worse.

It's a. 7 lb difference thou. I'm gonna call my doc and try to stop by his office and weigh in there to see what it says on Friday. Hopefully I don't need a copay lol

I think you shouldn't worry too much. What if you go to the docs Friday and you are 8lbs off? Nothing good can come of that IMO. Just do what you can and hope for the best. You don't want your main concern being weight for a first meet IMO. Especially when you seem to have no idea a few days out.

I also don't have a lot of experience. I just know I was nervous as **** for my first so I would t wanna make it any more nerve racking than it had to be.

If I miss I miss. It would suck but so be it. I am confident once I cut off water ill get it with room to spare.

Good attitude. I just wanna see you have a good time and lift heavy **** and put it back down haha

Lol yea it's not like I'm be like " aggh never mind guys ill conpete next time lol. Either way I'll have a few hours to eat and chill out before I'm up. Kinda just wanna get it over with and go back to training. But taking a week off was necessary. Last time I took off more than 3 days was in July

Rob makes excellent points. I definitely wouldn't try to manipulate weight the first time out. I tried for my first meet and quit halfway through the week when my weight wasn't going anywhere. I stepped on the scale at 232 and probably stepped on the platform at around 236. Hit some big PRs and with better attempt selection, I could have probably benched 380 and pulled 545.

That's what first meets are there for. To teach you things you would otherwise never know. Attempt selections, the way the meet runs, form tweaks from experienced guys, camaraderie. It's amazing the feeling you get when you isolate yourself from the world for 10 weeks and suddenly get thrust into a room with 50 people who know exactly how you feel, because they've been doing the same.

Well I hear everyone and I should have probably not tried to shed weight. But it's Thursday with. 2 days to go, I am committed now. My next meet in June weight will not even be cared for. Live and learn. I'm just excited/nervous/anxious to just do this thang

So you guys know, it says right there on the second page of Brian Carroll's e-book "DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CUT MORE THAN 5% IF YOU ARE WEAK MINDED AND HAVE NO HEART"

I believe it was a highly overstated and more than a little disrespectful, because hard men could quit on a cut just the same if they don't know what to expect. Here's an example of why he wrote that as it happened to me in the past hour, though:

Just took a really goddamn hot bath for about a half hour. Sweated off another pound and a half. Felt like pure unadulterated dog shït getting out of the tub. Stumbled (yes, literally stumbled) through the house naked because like an idiot I left my water jug halfway across the house. Wasn't sure I was gonna make it so I had my phone in hand in case I collapsed and had to call 911. (I overreacted as well)

Took a couple swigs of water and now 5min later, feel like a million bucks and a pair of titties. Good mental prep for what life is going to be like on Saturday, and the little one hour process (post water replenishment) was a half pound drop. Funny how when you NEED water and you take a couple sips, you magically put on a pound.

Example: Once, I cut 15lbs in 35 hours, and after weigh ins, had two 32oz gatorades, a banana, a small bottle of Naked, and a PB&J and stepped back on the scale. I gained 8lbs from that small meal. Did not make weight the next day.

Sorry about the rambling journal entries, this is occupying my carb craving and ab-spasm time.

Christ, you guys make this cutting weight sound so bad. I guess you, herder, are cutting some serious weight, whereas I dieted so I only needed about 6-8lbs (and ended up cutting a little over 10). I wasn't in the same league as you and the guys Brian C describes.

Brian C went from 255 to 220 the last time he cut to 220. I did that last bit unneccesarily (took me a half gallon to start peeing again), but I've already dropped 10 and have 6 more to go. A 4% cut is manageable, up around 6 is when it gets tough. 10% is the one that really kills. Really, I've only been dizzy twice, for 5min each time. I'm cutting 8%, haven't dropped water, and haven't taken my dandelion root or magnesium citrate yet.

Didn't you tell me Kroc dropped like 30 and put it like all back on by the next day or something?

Didn't you tell me Kroc dropped like 30 and put it like all back on by the next day or something?

Yep, Kroc was good for dropping 30. He and Brian Carroll are the two best known for weight cuts.

Also, you ALWAYS put all the weight you lost back on in one day, buddy. That's very important. If you're not competing at the weight you trained at, you're doing yourself a HUGE disservice.

Another thing to note, Kroc had 48hr weigh ins. With 48hrs to replenish, you can drop as much weight as you can manage without dying and have plenty of time to put it back on.
