13 Weeks to RPS Rawdawg Nats: Herder's PUUUGHE Comeback

And sadly I'm still the baby.... Yeah Jim I thought you were 23/24

Subbed, some damn good numbers. I've been using oly shoes as well for low bar, I love them cause I can't hit depth worth crap.

Welcome! Prep's going really well. I'm healing up just in time for the meet. Should be fun.

Chicka yeah! Tanks and shooz! Gonna have to be an OHP sesh real soon, boys!

So yeah, my overhead pressing workout turned into a total weightlifting workout. What can I say? They lent themselves to weightlifting, like, a bunch.

Clean to Press (one clean)

135x10
155x6
185x6

Power Snatch
135
155 PR +20
185x0
135

Power Clean
135x3
155x3
185
205
255x0
225

Clean & Press (push press)
225

Attempted C&J, but didn't lock out the jerk in a legal fashion (did lock it out, though.

C&J
225

Oly Squats
225x6

Comp Squats
Whatever(light)x1,2,3 whatevers. Definitely need to get the feel for them.

Deadlifts
135x3 Sumo
Terrible. Never doing that again.

Conventional
135x5
225x3
315x3

These are tough. Hits the glutes and hams hard. Brings the bar closer making me sit back farther and harder. They'll come in handy in the future, I'm sure. No legs left to get anything done, though.

Squats tomorrow. Was planning on hitting a big ME squat tomorrow, but now I'm thinking doing fully geared singles up to an RPE of 8. We'll see how I feel on the day. I'll upload vids. Today was fun, and tough.

good **** man!

My weightlifting form has a lot to be desired, man. But damn, is it fun. I hit 155 like a breeze and then 185 nearly decapitated me. Same from 225 to 255, could barely get it above my waistband. It would be damn cool to get good at those lifts someday.

Disregard the massive amount of videos I'm about to upload on youtube, gents. I'm going to condense it. Rob, I couldn't find that stupid app on my phone, what's it called?

Here we are:

And here's a video of a woman C&Jing twice as much as me. I think I have a more explosive first pull than this chick. If only I could nail down my second pull . . .

Watching Oly vids like this always amazes me with the proficiency of the second pull and speed getting under the bar

No doubt, man. I like to think that I have intelligent hips from years of wrestling, but they're not smart enough to hit a good second pull.

Fatty!

I see your Reza Zadeh and raise you a Taranenko!

This was the world record that was wiped from the record books when they restructured the weight classes. Imagine the abs to frickin hold 586 while leaning!

Brutal.

Squats were excellent! Vids later. After that, we decided to superset a bro exercise with a power friendly movement. That was fun, fresh, and fast paced. Fast paced being the key. That will be an emphasis in future training, I feel like I took it too easy on myself this cycle. Then came conditioning. We wanted to do a tire flip/arm over arm drag medley, but the implements were sun torched. So we went with stones and farmer's. Which was plenty hard enough.

Well done sir, that's a lot of work. I would be in a puddle on the floor...

I decided to have a carb meal after this, so I feel grrrrreat! But tomorrow will be an off day for sure. And speed pulls or heavy pulls on Sunday. Probably should do speed pulls.

Weight is down to 216 after my re-feed. The weight loss isn't dramatic, but it's definitely palpable. I usually lose a pound every 4 days and then a pound after my re-feeds. I might be in range to make a reasonable cut to 198 in time. It's not the dramatic results claimed by Carb Nite users, but to be fair, I'm having a carb nite every three or four days. It's still the most successful weight drop I've ever done that didn't involve plastic, saunas, and starvation.

Here's them squats:

365
405
465
475 bands were hooked too far forward. I kind of just sat back against them to maximize tension.

Very nice squatting. Solid work.

I thought it looked like a shirt sleeve, you know how the steel city rolls :D

You've definitely been there! That is how we roll. That's one of those cooling towels, in bandanna form.

Soo . . . I flipped the tire today. And did some prowler drags and pushes for rehab. But mostly, I flipped the tire. One time.

It took a little piece of me, but I still won.

Once it got to my hips, I couldn't have let myself put it down. That's the first time it moved more than 6 inches, so today had to be the day.

You inspire me to want to flip a tire man haha

Freaking brutal battle man. Congrats on getting that sucker!

We have this big ass tire at my facility...the only people who flip it for reps are a couple of NFL lineman that train there. I need to try and take it down again soon...no idea how much it weighs but it kicks everyone's ass who tries it. :o

Nice work on flipping that big boy.

How much do people pay there monthly?

Memberships just to use the facility and for a custom program (that you do on your own after some guidance if necessary or just disregard if you don't want it) run about ~$75 a month I believe.

That's crazy.

Its one of the athletic facilities that only allow you to train there with custom programming from a trainer?

You don't have to, but yes a fully customized workout is provided. Even the average gym around here costs like ~50, even with a two year commitment. Srs.

I'd pay it for the right gym like that

. . . my shed is free to train in :-)

Was going to do lower body or upper body jumps today, but my hand and forearm feels like it's been hit by a hammer from the tire. Time for epsom salt and mobility.
