The journey is what separates us from the normals. This is also where you can find the true bodybuilder as opposed to the ones that claim to be "bodybuilders". The journey is one like no other, its one of struggle, hard labor, mental and physical agony. Beating your body down when it doesn’t have enough fuel to get back up. Breaking your mind and emotions down when they are at their weakest. Yea i am on my own journey right now. 18 weeks of diet down and 3.5 more to go. what keeps me going? Is it the 5:30 cardio sessions? NO. What about the 8 meals? Nope. Working out at the gym when others look at me like i am not human. NAH. Going to bed at 10:00 so i get enough sleep to get up and do it all over again. Not even close. then why? I will tell you. What other sport do you diet for 20 plus week for one day? and if on that one day something is a little off, that 20 weeks went down the drain. 20 weeks of shutting out the world around you when it wants in. ignoring the constant nagging of "friends" asking why you cant eat this and why you cant hang out anymore. putting yourself on a little island all alone in complete solitude. where its only you and that one day the day where you will stand up in front of five people who will decide if you worked hard enough over the last 20 weeks to walk out a champion. the day when you stand next to your fellow iron brothers who have also been on that same journey. they are the ones that can relate with you, they know how it feels to have zero energy, wake up at times of the morning when others are just laying down to sleep. they are your true brothers, but not on this day not at this time they are an enemy. we are all warriors striving for the chance to have our hands held high in victory. but once it is all said and done when that last bead of sweat is dropped on that stage when the final applause is over and you walk off that stage. you will be brothers once again. the iron brother hood is stronger than winning and losing, its about passion and the love for what we do. the appreciation of knowing what it takes to get there. this is why i do it.
God has a plan for everyman, this is the path he has chosen for me and i will carry out my duties until it is time to move on. but will always remember the brotherhood
