1 or 2 scoops of the Isolate?

Do you guys do 1 or 2 scoops of the Isolate after a workout? Most protein that I have taken in the past is usually 2 scoops, but ATW says only 1 on the label. How much protein is too much to suppliment?

i would take 1 before/1 after workout. isolate is good stuff and should not be wasted. before workout with dat protein take some complex carbs-20 to 40g. after workout take 40g simple carbs with that protein (dextrose is preferential).

i personally would do 1-2 scoops of whey with 1/2 a cup of oats in the blender preworkout. Post workout is a time where your body needs nutrients the most, go with 30g of dextrose or so (depending on your goals of a cut or bulk) and 2 scoops of whey. So far on my cut, im am literally flying through 5 pound tubs like crazy. 2-3 weeks and i would have to reorder. Good thing shipping for ATW is free with the coupon code.

the 1 scoop your talking about is the serving size or what? If your reading directions on the label, you sure probably ignore that. How many scoops is up to you and taylored towards your goals. Cutting requires more protein intake and would probably mean you need more protein. Bulking, since your carb contents are higher as well as fat contents than that of a cut, you would need slightly less protein but still a significant amount of it.

For the last month, I have been doing 2 scoops which is 2ozs (48g of protein). I am trying to cut weight right now, so it seems like I am doing the correct dosage. I was just thrown off because the label says to do 1 scoop (1oz). Thanks so much for the quick replies!

Personally I think with whey 1 scoop should be sufficient for most situations, two may be beneficial for some but overkill for others. If your cutting you may benefit from taking 1scoop pre and 1 post but I don't think you really need two if you are eating sufficiently as well. It really comes down to preference and how much you can afford. If I ever win the lottery I will probably go through a 5lb jug a day and a bottle of beano to go along with it lol.

pmiller is on the money here. your body does not NEED 50g of fast acting protein pre/post workout unless you're jay 'barney rubble' cutler sized. which i can assume you are not. you only need one scoop in any circumstance. the bulk of your pre-workout/post-workout energy should come from the meals you consume 1 hour before/after your workouts.

save your cash, cause i know that that isolate is costly!

Thanks so much for all the info! I'm not like a crazy bodybuilder or anything like that. Just trying to add a bit of a extra protein to help repair muscles and lose some extra fat.

but remember that you can ALWAYS use some extra carbs. i mean, not overboard amounts, but extra is good. 30g before and 50g after workouts is money!

I usually drop 2 scoops in my cup out of sheer habit, i like my shakes thick but tend to want to drink more liquid with them. 120-150 calories in potential excess is minor in my opinion, especially when it's pure protein.
