1 gallon reusable water bottle

I'm tired of buying water jugs from the supermarket, using them for 4-5 days, and then having to buy a new one. I'm looking for a one gallon reusable water bottle.

There are tons online ranging from simple 8 dollar ones at Walmart to fancy 30 dollar BPA free ones on Amazon. With all the jugs I have looked at, they all have conflicting reviews.

Just curious if there are any good ones that you have bought which have been durable and have not leaked/cracked? Thanks!

I've recently switched to all stainless containers and have been impressed with Kleen Kanteen:

Why do you need to buy a new one every 4 to 5 days? Is that a bpa thing? Just curious cuz I use bottles over and over with no thoughts towards that. Doin it wrong?

I work in a meat cooler and after a few days my water jug gets all bloody and nasty from me grabbing it all the time to drink.

Aside from that, I get weirded out about bacteria building on the mouth piece of the jug. I have washed the jugs before but usually the cheap plastic top ends up breaking and I have to buy a new one anyways.

I bought a gallon jug from Target for $10. It's big as fcuk and I started to get annoyed lugging it around. I went back to just my shaker.

I hate drinking out of the gallon water jugs because I never finish them and after a few days, it starts to stink from the bacteria around the mouth.

Oh Under Armour has a nice 32 ounce jug. :)

That's not the only thing with nice jugs :D

Thanks for the input love. I hear you on it being big and bulky, between the gallon jug and my huge ass lunch box it becomes a pain carrying everything.

This may be a bit out of what looking you are looking for, but after being in special ops for years, I still rely on my camelbak. In fact I still have and use my army issued one. I fill it at night, set it in the freezer, then just sip throughout the day.

I've always just used the same jug for a couple weeks at a time. Maybe it's time to change that haha. Those stainless steel ones look pretty nice.

I lose my bottles/ jugs constantly. I also break them all the time.

One like that?

I have a gallon jug I got from walmart for 8$. It was a coleman I think. Pretty sure it's anti microbial or whatever; left water in there for awhile and it hasn't grown bacteria.

And even if it did, I use those camelbak cleaning reservoir tablets to clean it out.

This is only 72 oz. But I like it and it kept my water cold all day during Texas summers

Yup, that's it. I didn't know there were cleaning tablets. I'm always a bit freaked out about bacteria.

They're specifically designed for the camel back bladders, but they do the same job whatever the container.

I've used them on all my Nalgene bottles that I use at work, and Ive purified some questionable water. But the cleaning tabs seem to do the trick.
