???’s on High AND healthy testosterone

Hello and thanks for reading my post. I will start by discussing my current body composition, history and T levels. I will be starting 80mg bi-weekly test cyp soon.
I am Male. 30 y/o. 5’ 10”. 160lbs. BF% 17
I am a tree trimmer and do ALOT of heavy lifting, 10 hours a day 4 days a week. Clean/high protein and clean carbs. I eat like a horse 3 times a day. I add in protein shakes when I get off work and healthy snacks throughout the day and between meals.
I went to the doctor recently and have low T levels(490) with high free T level (138) and slightly high cholesterol (217) (I will be eating less sodium/sugar/fat and having fewer cheat days). All my other labs were great.
So, time for the questions. How do I maintain a high and healthy T level without converting to estrogen or having the side effects? Is this relevant to such a low dose? I’m looking at long term use (maybe years, at 6+ months at a time. Unknown at this point)
What supplements and what kind of time intervals of taking the supplements am I looking at for the most benefit from test cyp should I get?
Thanks in advance to anyone who will share any knowledge or insight into this matter!

Injecting more often (up to everyday if possible) is the most effective thing one can do reduce conversion to estrogen. However with this low of a dose and your body fat level, it won’t matter. I would still inject twice a week to keep levels closer to a mid line. Your doctor may increase your dose in a few months. Your title indicates you want to be not in, but at the upper range. Make sure to tell your doctor this at your next meeting based on your blood test so he can prescribe accordingly.

I honestly wouldn’t know at this point how high I would want it to be good for me specifically. The doctor says with how low I am at this age this has been an issue for a few years. Like everyone else. Life happens. I didn’t even notice until I recently had a kid and slowed my roll a bit. I guess I’m more so asking what other supplements could I take to make this work like a cycle on 160mg weekly or if at my body comp now this would probably do the trick? I also am prescribed clomid so I’m not too worried about shut down

It sounds to me like you have not even spoke to your dr cause your missing allot of very important info. Your dr should not have you on clomid and test at the same time. Once you start test, nothing (including clomid) will stop shut down. Are you starting TRT with your dr or going on cycle for a short period with your dr? Dr's do TRT. They don't do short term cycles. TRT means your shut down for life cause you supply testosterone from other means for the rest of your life. I would very surprised if he started you on 160mg per week. Most people (much older than you and with much lower base test levels) never need more 100mg per week to be in the 800's. 490 at 30yrs old is not that low. It's probably average. If its 490 on clomid though, its low.

This is true. More frequent subq injections seem to lead to less sides. Less estrogen, DHT, etc. Also, if we're talking TRT you can look into the cream/gel. I know someone who switched from IM to gel and is much happier with the gel.

490 total t at 30 is fine. I was like 530, and my free test wasn’t on the high side like yours.

I’m not saying you’re wrong for wanting more, but as mentioned if those numbers aren’t on Clomid then they are fairly solid for your demographic. Definitely not an actual TRT candidate at those values and age.

That’s the weird thing about all of this. I have tried to get ahold of my doctor since I have been prescribed everything (I have it all now). No responses really. I’ve done mainly my own research on this and am seeking more information. Yes, like what is posted I am prescribed 160mg a week (80 bi weekly which is twice a week)

This is doctor prescribed so this isn’t 3rd party illegal wanting or wanting anything. I’m simply trying to do what the doctor suggests to be healthy. Now, with all of this in hand I figured people with experience (hence posting on this site) would give valuable information. And you have! Thank you for your advice and insight. I will keep this in mind moving forward and may run a cycle instead of long term use at this point. As we all have to start and learn somewhere

And I will add I haven’t started or anything. Nothing is definite at this time. I will be gathering more information from people with personal experience and my doctor

If your 490 without Clomid, you could probably get to 600 naturally (no clomid / no shutdown / no pharma). Lots of info on this site. Imo this would be the route you want to take for your best health. Taking testosterone puts you at risk of causing permanent shut down. A low risk if the cycle is “short” and dosed on the lower side, but still a risk.

Your Dr is an idiot, get a new one. 490 is not low and you could probably get it higher with some lifestyle/diet changes. Stay away from TRT, especially if you want more kids.

Agreed here. 490 at 30 yrs old I would bet is average. Diet, sleep, and natural supplements could get you a long way.

I am going to get a second opinion tomorrow from a different doctor and clinic altogether. Thanks for your guys insight on the subject. I will be doing ALOT more research bc I have like 20 vials of test cyp and a hundred pins. So what to do with them is gonna be the question

You can still run cycles and do a strong PCT after, no need for TRT at the moment, don’t rush it.

That’s what I was thinking. I will be gathering more knowledge first. I’ve been doing research for a few years bc it has always interested me, but I didn’t want to in my 20s and now I am to where I am good financially also. So that makes a difference for my lifestyle
