Hey I am 20 years old 5'8 165 and 9% fat.. Next summer I would like to compete in mens physique. This would be my first competition so any competition advice would be awesome! I have always done standard 4 or 5 day splits but I have noticed that most of the physique competitors use a 6 day...
Dude I had the same problem, everyone else had huge chests but mine was not growing and this is what worked for me:
1. EAT! Whether you want to dirty bulk or clean bulk.. Somewhat of both worked for me but I'm naturally skinny
2. I listened to all these guys on youtube that said dont do more...
I agree, I like the different workouts that you have mentioned and I'm going to add them to my arm workouts every now and then when my arm workouts seem to stop working to shock the muscle.
I make sure I at least get 7 or 8 everyday but today since im on spring break and off of work I got 10 hrs last night and 2 and a half more in a nap... But on average I think I get just enough sleep... Another thing I ALWAYS do compound movements then move into Iso but that clearly hasn't helped...
I usually do a bi and tri day but I don't have time on Fridays to fit it in so I split it up but I might try doing bi's 3 times a week mon w/ back wed w/ legs and Saturday at home with my weights
And squats and deads are in my workouts every week ..deads on back and leg day and front squats...
No, I have never tried working arms after legs.. Is there a benefit to do arms after legs?
I was going to try to hit arms more directly and alongside with compound exercises to see if it works.
Ok so I am 20 years old and I have been training consistently for 2 years now. I have made some good gains going from 5'8 130 to 165lbs. Currently I am on a 4 day split because of my work and school schedule conflicting but I usually do a 5 day split.. My split right now is
Monday-back&bi...
Dude I said nothing about creatine! My point was to take in mostly carbs! He said he was taking creatine and protein... I agree those are both helpful in gaining weight but carbs did it for me.
Man I was the same weight as you at the beginning of the year until I started taking down serious amounts of not creatine nor protein but carbs.... Sure it's not all muscle gains because it's pretty much impossible to put on that much that quick but carbs definitely will help put on some size...
So my schedule last week got messed up and I had to change my leg day from Tuesday to Friday...it was a really good workout and I'm still sore from Friday but I wanted to get back on schedule my split is usually
Mon shoulder
Tues legs
Wed off
Thurs back bi
Fri chest tri
But I was wondering if...
I struggle at the chest ...once I hit the chest and am on the way back up I get stuck but if my spotter barely lifts it then I'm good the rest of the way
Well when I struggle it is right after I touch my chest and on the way back up I get stuck..if I have a spotter barely lift up maybe a inch or two I'm good the rest of the way...if I just do reps half way and not touch my chest then I can do like 8 ( i do not do this, i just tried it one day...
Ok I like the all dumbell wo or the all barbell wo I'm goin to alternate those...
But why are my bd bench presses greater than my bb presses? Simply form on bb?
Yeah it may be form, I'll check those out but it makes a lot of sense to do the incline press more to strengthen the upper chest muscles because the incline press is my weakest bench.
So Im going to emphasize more on incline press but with my schedule I can only hit the gym 4 days a week so I...
Ok that makes sense because my incline press has always been my weakness chess exercise. And I have just recently started emphasizing my workouts on deads and squats. So I will definitely Try more incline presses.
My chest wo
Barbell bench press 3 sets 8 or till failure
I do every exercise 3...
Hey, I'm 19 years old and weigh right about 150 with 6% bf and I have been training consistently for a year now and I'm progressing in weight in every excersise except for the barbell bench press. I have been stuck at the same max for months! But the weird thing is that I can lift more doing...
