Hey guys,

Matt hooked me up with a bottle of the new Smolder! Looking forward to seeing what it can do. I'm already decently lean and running a bunch of SNS/CEL stuff which I actually logging currently.

This log is going to be soley on what I notice from Smolder. I will be applying to my stomach and obliques. The write up was very cool to read and I'm liking that burning isn't its main mechanism anymore lol. Don't get me wrong, I ran Eviscerate+ back in the day to net that extra little bit of fat loss, endured the torture for the greater good, but not having to feel like I'm on fire is a huge plus.

By the time it arrived, I was only able to get one application on today. I did it prior to my push workout. It dispersed from the pump easily and went on extremely easy with no leftover residue or little clumps like some topicals tend to do. It dried super fast and didn't have any nasty smell to it.

Workout went great. My strength has been climbing, endurance increasing, and bodyweight generally staying the same while dropping some body fat. Recomping is the ultimate goal but depending on where I am once summer starts up, I may have to drop calories a bit more aggressively and turn it into a cut. I want to dethrone what I consider my best physique of all time which was last summer, mid July.

No AM cardio or night time cardio today because I smoked an over night pork shoulder for pulled pork sandwiches today. Got my workout in today though before the guests arrived.

Applied my smolder and smashed a new exotic preworkout and proceeded to destroy my workout.

Here is today's pull workout:

PULL DAY B — LAT SWEEP + CONTRACTION FOCUS

Goal: lower lat emphasis, stretch + contraction bias, different angles from Pull A, reduced spinal fatigue.

  • Pull A remains the heavier foundational thickness session.
  • Pull B shifts emphasis toward lower lats, stretch-mediated hypertrophy, and contraction quality.
  • Reduced spinal loading compared to Pull A while maintaining overall back volume and arm work.

Todays nutrition was bad because of the Memorial Day party. I made sure to take my defuse and slintensity (since I started eating post workout). I started off nice and clean and ate like 50 cocktail shrimp. But then I had some chips, pretzels, onion dip, cheese dip, etc. Haven't had junk like this in months. Then picked at some desserts.

The pulled pork was awesome. Came out excellent. I didn't make it last summer so it's been a while but I nailed it. Homemade coleslaw and everything. Had more dessert after and then passed out unable to move for 15 minutes lol.

I applied my second application of smolder around 9 PM. Went back and forth if I wanted to eat junk. Decided I was better off doing it and getting it out of my system and getting back on track tomorrow. So more defuse and then dorito time.

Tomorrow back on track with fasted cardio in the AM. It's an off day from the gym but I'm debating if I should hit legs tomorrow night.

Had some trouble getting going this morning. Applied my Smolder and took my fasted cardio stack and hopped on the elliptical.

Only 20 minutes cardio with a 5 minute recovery. Despite cheating yesterday.. 5k+ calories easy (I didn't count but I've been doing this a long time) I woke up ravenous today. So got some cardio in and then ate.

Gonna chill until it's leg time!
 
Today's leg session went well. Tried out an exotic preworkout I just obtained and got to work! Still had my first application of smolder on and will put my second application on after my evening shower. What I can note so far is, it goes on very easily and dries super fast. No residue or clumps at all.

LEG DAY — POSTERIOR CHAIN + QUAD PUMP

Goal: hamstring-first knee prep, posterior chain strength, quad pump finish, reduced spinal fatigue vs max-strength leg day

1) Hamstring Curl
Sets:
  • 15 reps
  • 12 reps
  • 10 heavier
  • burnout set
  • hard squeeze every rep
  • slow eccentric
  • hips pinned down
  • full control





2) Romanian Deadlift

6) One-Arm Dumbbell Standing Calf Raise (on plates)

Strength was good, slight increases or extra reps from last session. Pace and endurance definitely improved.

Hamstrings and calves are starting to come in nicely!

Forced myself to take a much needed off day from lifting and did 45 minutes of cardio on the elliptical. Applied my smolder after work and got right to it.

Anyone know how long you should leave it on before a shower and how long it stays active even after showering? Always wondered how the yohimbine worked when people applied it before bed seeing as it can get the fat mobile but if you aren't doing anything to burn it doesn't it just get redistributed elsewhere?

Maybe @dsade can chime in.

Absorption is insanely fast with this new carrier. You should be able to shower 45-60 minutes later. Or a bubble bath 90 minutes later, unless you like rubber duckies then make it 2 hours.

When you get some time could you explain the night time mechanism? Is it less effective before bed because of lack of moving? Also, as far as the yohimbine...do the same rules apply as they do to oral or injectable? In terms of being fasted so it can do its thing? Or does localized administration bypass that somehow?

Smolder is 100% lipolytic. It sends free fatty acids into the bloodstream from where it is applied. At nighttime you would still need to take with an actual fat burner like DCP.

Anyway to quantify how effective simply applying smolder before bed and taking dcp with it is? Assuming no other variables are changed? Daily calorie intake / expenditure the same? Just curious.

I know it's more effective before cardio and workouts and that's how I apply it most of the time. If one wanted a bed time application in addition to the other 2, could they add a third? Would that over saturate or reach a point of diminishing returns?
 
Applied Smolder before my 30 minutes of fasted elliptical this morning and then again around 5 PM before my push workout. Really enjoying how fast it absorbs and dries. Also, looking forward to the skin tightening effects in addition to the fat loss. I'm actually up a few pounds but looking leaner which means I'm living the dream. Here was tonight's workout and 2 post workout progress pics:

Got a little extra sleep this morning but only had 20 minutes to get my cardio in. Applied smolder and crushed the cardio. My fastest pace yet and felt good the whole time. 5 minute reverse recovery afterwards.

Will apply before my pull workout tonight. Also interested in @dsade responses to my above questions when he gets around to them.

Popped my pre cardio supps today at my first alarm like usual but this time fell back to sleep and stayed asleep ...so unfortunately I skipped out on my morning cardio but the trade off was some more quality sleep so I guess it's worth it. Tonight is leg day anyway.

Fridays I go in to work a bit earlier which makes the morning cardio harder on these days anyway. Finals will be starting at my school soon which means I'll be out of work by noon the latest going forward which will be awesome. I'll be able to get my fasted cardio in and a nice preworkout nap after work. This is the best time of the year haha

Applied my Smolder after my morning shower and stayed fasted for a little bit. Second application will be before legs later today.

Another thing, so last night I was gonna have a halo top with some quest protein Reese's pieces candy and some graham crackers. I popped a 200mg dihydroberberine cap and then decided to take some Defuse...not because the meal was necessarily bad and super high calorie but it was going to push me over my limit. I had also read over the years of dosing patterns with defuse for fat loss as opposed to damage mitigation so figured why not. Well, after taking my greens formula and my psyllium husk since I never got to it earlier, I was extremely full and also exhausted at that point. So I went to bed. Wonder if the defuse along with the 2 caps of DCP (I had an open bottle in stock) did anything special.

Still debating dropping more money to get some more dcp but I'm already on a bunch of fat burners as it is so not 100% sure yet.
 
Second application before yesterdays leg session as planned. Scale weight is still up but waist looks leaner.

This morning I applied before my fasted cardio and had a very sweaty session. Was moving fast...got 30 minutes in and an additional 10 recovery minutes after. Going backwards on the elliptical really seems to help. Getting ready for my PM session now. Will report back.

Pm session done. Same as this morning. Maintaining a fast pace and a huge sweat. Legs felt great but time seemed to stand still today for both sessions. There was a stretch of time a couple weeks back where it felt like they were moving right along...oh well, back to normal 😂
 
Really enjoying the ease of application with Smolder. I still use a glove but the pump dispenser works great, disperses evenly and spreads fast and absorbs right away. No residue and no crazy burning like the past iterations.

Fasted cardio went really well this morning. 35 minutes at a record setting pace, sweat literally flying off me the whole time. Did 10 minutes of recovery afterwards.

Tonight's Push session was fantastic.
