RIP Patrick Arnold

He was a brilliant guy, and nuts lol. Do you know what the cause of death was? He wasn't young, but he wasn't very old either. Probably his early 60s

He was 59 or 60.
I don't know cause of death.

A brilliant mind gone.

RIP Patrick.

Very sad to hear. RIP.

I have quite a few of Muscular Development magazines with articles he wrote. One of them is super valuable for a beginner wanting to using anabolics, or androgens, , if I remember correctly, he goes into how steroids have three bases, testosterone, nandrolone, and dht.

He actually took some steroids and rated them , example superdrol, , comes from dht, anabolic androgenic ratio is like super high anabolic, and very low androgenic, the lowest I think I know of, except for maybe oral turnibol. He helped me out with prohormones, pct, designers, he brought protodrol to the market. Phenibut was a good one he popularized into the bodybuilding community. He was into a:a ratios. We first talked on bodybuilding.com in 2004, I probably can find the posts, if they haven't been erased

I remember him in a magazine advertisement, he was doing a leg press, I may have that magazine, it was a ad for ergopharm. ,2005 I think. He was a decent salesman. He was on here for a short time. On PHF he had ask PA section . We Talked with on facebook as well.

In 2017 I drove through Champaign, Ill where he lived at the time. Does anyone know if he moved back to Ct to take care of his Mom?

The best supplements ever. Loved his forum here and on bb.com. We should bring it back in memory. The most popular thing he brought to market DMAA seemed to blast everyone’s sales into the stratosphere but his own

I only just found out about his passing through Facebook. It appears that around May 1st, he made a post saying he was very unwell and had recently been released.

I believe he had been quite sick, although I’m not sure exactly what he was suffering from. I haven’t yet seen any mention of the cause of his passing.

Very sad news.

Just saw this. It is always sad to see someone that you used to chat with online pass away. I was one of the testers for clearshot before it came out. Straight fire it was lol He will be missed for sure

Wow, I remember him on here and back in the day prior to this forum and ergopharm. Great innovator and put a big impact on world of supplements and prohormones. RIP, getting old.

I just saw this on another forum. What a bummer. I still miss his Q&A sub forum on PHF. It was educational but sometimes not patient. Good guy overall.
I meet at an Arnold Classic many moons ago. I enjoyed hanging with him..

Such sad news and i am very upset. Last time i chatted with him was a year ago. At that time he was looking into some alternative therapies in another country for some of his health issues that i am not at liberty to mention. Some of his posts and correspondence seemed a little off over the past 4 years and as others have mentioned his health was not the best recently .Such a huge loss for the bodybuilding industry. I urge some of the younger members on this board that may be in their late teens and 20's or early 30s to do a YouTube search for some of the interviews and podcasts on him over the past 6 years or so to truly understand the impact he had on the industry..I will see of i can post some here later tonight.

The last I knew he was working on bringing 11-KT back to the Prototype line and was also working on an oral ursolic acid product with high oral bioavailability.

Funny PA story that I will share. I remember testing his ergopharm "all in 1" powder which was a EAA powder mix that may have had some form new slow digesting carb. Maybe vitargo or something of that nature....anyway I decided to test the product before a date with a girl(can't remember her name but I think she was in my chemistry class). Went to see a movie at the AMC theater in Hamilton NJ as an afternoon matinee. So on the way meeting her there i have the worst smelling farts in the car. So I get there and sit in the front row(can't even remember the movie). Anyway I am wriggling around my seat for an hour and 20 minutes trying to hold farts in. She probably thought i was the biggest spaz after that but I was to embarrassed to tell her why. Basicly on the way out of the theater I crop dusted the people behind me. Getting to the PA part..so I go on the message board the next day and tell PA about the horrible gas this product produced and he explained that shipping the product in 100 degree weather may lead to a reaction of the amino acids and whatever carb was in there and form amadori products. I told him I wanted him to send me a check for the $7 movie ticket and he replied something along the lines of that 7 bucks could not buy back my dignity of farting on a first date😂

Yes he was, not sure how far into the process for each product he was per se. I think one his old employees that worked for proviant/ergopharm and maybe had as association with his prototype nutrition line is a member on this board. Can't remember his real name or handle

There was a poster named something like "Truthornothing" that repped Prototype but that was years ago.

If you scroll through some of the political ramblings... he seemed to have quite a list of things going on. He's been complaining about long covid for a few years, then talked about getting covid again, then talked about getting more vaccines to get rid of the long covid, a bunch of peptide testing, as well as claiming Jardiance was making him feel like ****.

New York times wrote an obituary then makes him look like a bad guy . I recommend not even reading it. That said, here is the funeral home he was buried at obituary.

I remember growing up near St. Louis when Mark McGwire was on his world record home run spree - secretly powered by PA’s andro. My dad took me to a game to see him bump the record, something like his 66th or whatever towards the end of the run. It was a truly awesome childhood memory: the lights blasting & entire stadium thundering as he sent one to the moon to pull ahead in the home run record race.

I’ll always be grateful for that experience, and it never would have happened without PA’s chemistry magic. He touched people’s lives in ways he could have never even possibly imagined.

He and I spoke on the phone a few times, even worked up a custom supp for me. This was way back circa 2013.

Patrick Arnold, the American organic chemist known for his contributions to the supplement industry, passed away on May 12, 2026, at the age of 59. His death was sudden, and the cause of death remains unknown.

Pat was a big Democrat, being largely influenced by his parents in that regard (his words, not mine). Because of that, he was very pro-vax and especially the COVID vaccine. He was known to be one of many that had complications from such and of course, the vaccine never worked in the first place. He was battling so called, "Long COVID" symptoms and got COVID itself on at least 2 occasions.

I'm saddened because in our little world, Pat was a larger-than-life figure. He was THE guy, when it came to androgens and other stuff. Legitimate, innovative stuff.

I can't say I'm surprised though, to hear of yet another "died suddenly" victim.

R.I.P. Pat, father of 1-AD
