we did for years, she's getting on in age. I got her as a baby in 2020. She seems to be past her egg bearing years but she has rolled rocks into her nest and sits on them. its actually sorta heart breaking lol, poor girl.

the drake doesn't care though, he keeps trying hard. even the chickens are potential child bearers to him. Gonna end up with some chucks, or dickens, or whatever you call it when your drake fertilizes a chicken egg.

funny thing is when we saw she was nesting again, and how often he mounts her, we decided to let her sit on the nest and keep her eggs this year instead of collecting them. when she got off the nest to get some water I took a peak to see how many eggs she had in there and it was this pile of rocks she's been incubuting lol. its sorta heart breaking and cute at the same time .
