cheers hit4me - thats basically what I've decided to do - use the smith machine for squats with leg press, hack squats, goblet squats and front squats mixed in. As the smith squats get heavier I will probably have to just do them alone.
Annoying that they have spent money on 3.. yes 3 smith...
cheers pal, good advice - they have dumbbells but max 25kg and I can squat holding two of them 30+.
What about the hack squat with barbell?
Im trying to do the strong lifts 5x5 but without using the smiths machine its pretty difficult!
Right the gym I'm using has barbells and a smith machine but no rack.... I know tw@ts.
Unfortunately I am on an oil rig so definitely no option to find another gym.
So the question is what I should do for the month I'm on the rig? Hack squats, clean and press into back squat, clean into front...
I like the dumbells because it's quick instead of messing with barbell. They have some 30kg ones so I'm failing before 12 reps on all exercises other than squat.
Hi guys. I can train 7 days a week! I have access to a gym also - I work offshore so the gym is the only activity apart from sleep! I'll have a good look at those programs later tonight. I just want something easy to follow being a beginner!
