A good mental cue is to try and imagine your dunking your balls on the bar.....don't start the pull until your hips are low enough and remember to try and externally rotate your hips so knees are pointing outwards
Yeah just the regular converse chuck Taylor's are very a very good all round shoes for powerlifting.....I use them for all lifts I tried doing ohp in my new balance and it felt terrible, really wobbly and unstable

I did dc training for a year or so.....ended up with tons of small injures although I did neglect the streaching portion of the program.....if you do it I'd say do plenty of mobility work and stay away from the machine movements he recommends I found heavy pressing on the smith and hammer...
I tried this for a while when I was working a 24 hour on 24 hour off shift pattern at work.....found the only way I could have enough energy for my 2nd workout I had to eat silly amounts of carbs following workout 1.....too much for me to stomach tbh so I switched over to a full body routine...
