Um...I use to hate on people who say they get so drunk they can't remember what they did that night...I never believed them...

But...

Last night...

- I got kicked out of a club (for the first time)
- I threw up (its been over 10yrs since I last hurled)
- My friends had tons of stories about me that night (and I don't remember any of them).

- I woke up in the back seat of my car at 8am.



So in short...I do believe that you can drink and not remember what you did that night.

I never believed it either until it happened to me earlier this year....apparently i made a complete ass of myself in front of my wife's parents at a friends wedding anniversary. The next day I didn't remember a damn thing......so in short, boy did i learn from that mistake.

Welcome to the club. I've probably had at least 100 of those nights, never again. I've done some amazing sh*t when completely blacked out. It's shocking that I'm alive. I got lucky, never will I drink like I used to. Sorry if it comes across like I'm proud of that. I'm definitely not. I was a complete moron.
 
The weird part is, I've drank way more before.:drunk: And I thought the worst part was not knowing what I did after I got kicked out of the club. But my friends were telling me stories about me while I was inside the club...and I had no idea what they were talking about! :rofl:

I was even told that I got slapped in the face by a chic:pose: ! And I don't even remember that...lol.

I go out every weekend...these blank moments are some scary sh!t.

Your drinking has progressed to the point of reduced tolerance. That's about stage 2 of alcoholism. Been there done that. The next step in the progression is not nice.

PROGRESSION OF ALCOHOLISM


According to experts in the field, the development of alcohol dependence can occur over a lengthy period of time ranging from five to twenty years. Initially, the alcoholic displays a tolerance for alcohol; that is, it is necessary for the drinker to consume larger amounts of alcohol, as the usual amount ingested no longer produces the desired effect. With the increased dosages of alcohol, the likelihood is greater that complications will occur. Unfortunately, the alcoholic may not be aware of the effect that alcohol is having on the body.

The alcoholic may engage in periods of abstinence from drinking. This "holiday" from drinking is often unsuccessful, and the drinker may begin to drink again while attempting to exhibit some element of control over drinking behavior. Lack of control is paramount in the alcoholic who cannot control consumption. As time passes, some alcoholics develop a reverse tolerance to alcohol, which means that they require less alcohol before experiencing psychoactive effects. In this situation, even though a smaller amount of alcohol may produce feelings of intoxication, the alcoholic continues to drink in escalating amounts.

“The ‘typical’ white male American alcoholic begins drinking heavily in his late teens or early twenties, drinks more and more through his twenties, starts having serious problems in his thirties, is hospitalized for drinking (if ever) in his mid or late thirties, and is clearly identified by himself and others as alcoholic—a man who cannot drink without trouble—between age 40 and 50.”

Yep.. that was me. Quit once for 30 days on my own when I was about 39 years old. That was the longest ever on my own, and all I could think about for those 30 days was having a drink. Then I went on a 3 month binge. Quit again. Detoxed on my couch for 5 days. Then ended up in the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack. My BP was 190/145.

GOD I'm glad those days are behind me now and I can live without alcohol in my life.
 
It's probably a good thing that you don't remember most of it....except maybe if you experienced the nicest ta ta's in the world and can't remember it or something like that.

You should definitely cut back or eat more before drinking. I can attest that out of control drunk people get old fast.

Try drinking less and see if you have a better time

Its even scarier when you know you drove but don't remember driving and can't remember where you parked your car !
 
I had one of those almost 5 years ago and I was told I hurled 3 times and that there was a good chunk of blood when I hurled each time. Now I know my limits and will stop at 2-3 drinks on the rare occasion that I do drink.
 
Had a few of those in college. Pretty much stopped drinking after college though. Heck, I don't even get drunk on New Years lately.
 
I had one of those incidents in May. Apparently I body slammed my friend on the floor, kissed some girl, hit my head on the island in the kitchen, and was ridiculously loud. I woke up at 6AM and had no idea when I went to sleep and when everyone left. Bad, bad night...

Sounds like 95-00 for me. You know you're a complete moron when it takes you 5+ years to realize you're acting like an idiot every other night. Wish I could have those years back.

I have only drank a few times since then and I do it more as a social activity more than wanting to get drunk. Plus, I think to myself, do I want to go out or do I want to try a new supplement?
 
Ive had several of those nights. One of the worst was ST pattys day 3 years ago. I was destroyed by 5 pm... we left a bar and i decided to sprint to my friends car... I didnt see the solid steel wire comming from the telephone pole to the ground. Almost took my head off !!! I was gushing blood the entire night. I continued to drink until almost 5 the next morning and didnt wake up until almost 10 the next night. I still have the 2 scars from that wire
