UFC 74 card

Holy crap, what the hell happened to this thread?!? cmon now...enough about those sexy fighting girls! :D

GG vs. Couture - Good match up. This is going to be a test for GG, mainly cause its on the big stage. I think it will be interesting to see how well randy deals with the size. This would be a mild test for couture, and i would have to pick Randy for a 3rd/4rth rd tko/ko or decision. Frankly, i havent seen enough from GG to really think he has more than a punchers chance.

GSP will dominate Kos. There is no way Kos will get a decision, either. I doubt it will go to that anyway. I know georges will come out with a ton of fire!

Haha. yeah we can get a little OT around here. I agree with GSP, but I think GG might be the real deal and I see Randy getting pounded out in the 2nd. Ya never know with Couture, though.

Just thought this should be quoted.

Good idea. Don't let Mr. Post-N-Delete pull his little tricks.

Fantasy matchup : Rogue Drone vs. his ego.

The ego has a significant size advantage.....

I'm kidding RD so there's no reason to spend an hour writing a 6 paragraph explanation of your view on the ego and the outside world.

My Oxycontin and lack of sleep fueled Ego Quarried and Nelmarked RD last Night. I'm gonna have to put it on suspension and in STFU Rehab.

The GG vs Couture is a good match to watch, but it doesn't favor Couture. If i recall correctly, Couture has had alot of problems with HW grapplers. In the GG vs Crocop fight Couture even admitted that Crocop is a better match for him than GG.

I hope that GSP pounds the crap out of Kos... Oh how i hate Kos.

GSP vs. Kos is very interesting to me.

Probably the two best athletes in MMA going at it. Plus, very similar body styles and even skillsets.

Should be great.

Well, here's what the rumor that I've heard is (and I can't really say anything for its credibility):

winner of Couture-GG will face Noguiera.
If CC wins, he will face AA for the next title shot after that.

Once again these rumors are of questionable credibility, but it seems like there will be some solid matches if true.

First of all you left out an S in the abbreviation. How dare you? Wait til I start a thread about the Feldman/Haim reality show that is starting next weekend. If you think that semi-hot chicks fighting show can touch the Corey's you're in for a rude awakening. Also, a new season of Sunny in Philadelphia starts in a few weeks, that should be good.
I'm eating my words after those first 2 episodes. Just didn't pan out like I thought it would. Hopefully Haim gets a hold of some pain medication or something to spice the show up a bit.

I heard something along those lines and, to be honest, it would be in the best interest of the HW division to have it play out like that. Unless they sign Fedor within the next few months.

Another rumor popped up yesterday about AA vs. Vera in November, and that Vera is about to resign. With Fedor's negotiations stalled, Bodog or EXC/Strikeforce should make Fedor-Barnett happen. That's a huge fight that is out there for the taking and I wouldn't care if the rest of the card was terrible.

I missed most of the first ep but saw the 2nd. It was a let down, but the Coreys can lead to unreal expectations. One bright spot: Haim yells at Feldman's wife, "You're not a real Corey. You never have been, and you never will." Brilliant.

Lutter's off the card due to a neck injury (bulging disc). I'm pretty sure he really just backed down from Jensen.

Who is Jensen? Is that a joke?

Anyway, I heard Thales Leites is filling in. He is an awesome fighter, so I hope we get to see it.

Jensen went to my highschool so I'm cheering him on and joking of course. Whoops, I forgot to mention Leites was the replacement.

Thales Leites (11-1) has stepped up to replace the injured Travis Lutter at UFC 74: “Respect” and will face UFC newcomer Ryan Jensen (11-1) in a middleweight premlinary bout, according to Dave Meltzer at WrestlingObserver.com.

Here’s the snip:

“Travis Lutter is off the 8/25 UFC show in Las Vegas due to a bulging disc in his neck. Ryan Jensen’s new opponent is Thales Leites.”

Just a few hours ago we passed along a message from Lutter, which described that he had reinjured his neck training for the August 25 event and would have to reluctantly withdraw from the fight.

With just a few weeks to spare, it appears now that the Brazilian grappler is up for the challenge to compete on extremely short notice.

Since dropping his first bout inside the Octagon to Martin Kampmann via unanimous decision at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 4 Finale in November 2006, Leites has been perfect (2-0) and impressive.

He battered Pete Sell at UFC 69 in April of this year to earn a unanimous decision from all three judges scoring the bout. Then at the TUF 5 Finale little more than two months later, he submitted Floyd Sword with an arm triangle.

With the addition of Leites, UFC 74 remains a very intriguing card from top to bottom. To check out the revised fight card click here.

you know

Couture vs Gonzaga
GSP vs Koscheck
Joe Daddy vs Kurt Pellegrino
Kendall Grove vs Pat Cote
Babalu vs David Heath
Frank Mir vs Antoni Hardonk
Huerta vs Alberto Crane
Marcus Aurelio vs Clay Guida

winners in bold!!

my boy koscheck fighting out of the good old yay area!! he's going to **** some **** up!!

Couture's my all time fav, I think he's going to lose though, and Kos isn't even close to being ready for GSP. But there's always a punchers chance as they say.

Am I the only one who wants to see every fight on this card? I guess I'm least interested in the Mir fight and the Grove fight, but Grove looked nasty last time out, so as long as Cote isn't gun shy like he was vs. Smith, this could actually be a great fight.

I think your boy is f*cked now, Jas. Leitas, IMO, is one of the most underrated fighters in the UFC.

Haha...indeed, but i have only see him fight once (his last).

This could turn out to be a good ground war, adding good varify to the card.

I could probably do without those two fights, but the rest of the card has my interest for sure.

I believe Kendall wil win and so could Mir; I know he has been workin on his striking allot, so this could be interesting, especially if he doesnt duck into knees again. :trout:

Randy and GG were on ESPN yesterday talking about the fight and they also had Dana on there. GG has pretty limited English and Randy didn't seem to want to reveal much about his gameplan.

How do you think Randy would fair against Rampage if he dropped down to 205 again?

I think Page might be too strong for Randy.
