Icariin extract is basically concentrated Horny Goat Weed?

Looking at the NP site, their HGW is 20% icariin and their [out of stock] Icariin extract is 50%

So to get the same level of icariin one could simply take a little more than double the amount of HGW compared to the specific icariin extract?

I don't know about everyone else, but Icariin (HGW) never did anything for me, even at high doses. Then RPM came around and changed my view on it. I am guessing the higher extract Icariin, coupled along with the precise ratio of other ingredients in RPM, make it the powerhouse that it is.
 
20% HGW did have an effect on me, though it was fairly small and transient and lasted only 10-14 days or so. The 50% Icariin and naringin combo in RPM is much much better and the effects seem to last much longer and are far more pronounced.

I have taken many grams of the 20% and it has never come close to RPM.
 
I'm aware or your product and Activate Xtreme, which has a 20% extract.. which sounds similar to NP's HGW. Yours is obviously uses the higher potency extract icariin. Both look like very good products with excellent ingredients.

I think my question was a bit dumb, lol, and the answer is basically: Yes, HGW 20% is a reasonable substitute for the 50% extract if dosed higher.

Cheap extractions make cheap products and that was the previous case with HGW in China.
 
The people who make the higher extracts will probably be the same people who make the 20%, I would have thought.

China makes both 20% extracts. One is cheaper and one is more expensive but the buyer needs to specify specifically.
 
A lot of good posting above- and I concur with all of it- it all comes down to extraction % when it comes to herbs- the higher the extract %, the more effective the product is for any given quality. However, this is not a cost-effective option for a lot of companies, b/c the higher the extraction %, the higher the cost for any given herb........

That being said- we have a SOLID supplier of 50% icariin, and it is not cheap, but we know that we are getting quality product, and we pass that on to our customers :)

I saw a 99% icariin somewhere online, not sure if it was a us supplier though...
 
I saw it too but couldn't pull anything up on it..from a funky and probably outdated chinese site.
 
ah but in my experience with the NP and CNW folks products, they make very good stuff... so I'll go with them.

maybe.
I was actually thinking of running both of them in 8 week cycles ... with a month between each at the recommended doses by the manufacturer to see which gives the better effects.
 
I was taking 500mg-1gram a day of 50% for 2 weeks.. ive been off for a week now...

I still am getting way harder erections, i swear they go hard like im on viagra...

Other than that, i noticed a general better sense of well being!

sounds like the 50 seems to work well.
has it helped any athletically or no noted effects there?

I am trying to really slim down my supps...get a few with multiple purposes... . and that seems like it might be nice....

I got some quotes from several china companies on sample sizes of 99%. They were asking something like $1700 for 50g. After getting several quotes on the different prices, I've concluded that 40-50% extracts are the highest quality within a reasonable price range.
 
The purpose of selling a product is to get people to buy it. This can become difficult if they can't afford it. The lower extracts are going for less than 1/10th the cost for an entire kilogram. So yeah, 8-10x as much active for over 10x less.

It was some european site.
I wonder if they will tell me their supplier so I can confirm.

There is no natural substance that could justify the cost of $300 a gram. That is just stupid.

You have yet to learn about prototype pricing.

It's not the herb or the compound that costs all the $$$, it's paying for someone to extract it at such a purity.
 
I got a quote from a company for 80% and 60%

Epimedium PE 80% - $700.00 kg.
" PE 60% - $390.00 kg.

Hopefully they will send me a sample.
