Yard work? I've got an army of illegal's for that...

more time for 'fun' laundry etc... I can't hardly compete with 20-25 dollar lawn service. Heck that's what my parents used to pay me when I was a wee lad to do the yard! And these guys do a MUCH better job than I did back then. I've done my share of yard crew work, as I was the supervisor on one for a summer, and I can jog and edge at the same time because of it :)

But in all honesty they can do it in 15 minutes, take me an hour... And 25 bucks is 'less' than what I make per hour, thus it's a cost benefit.

Yeah that isn't too bad, but if I paid someone to do yard work. The lil lady would either have me do more house work, or pay for someone to clean teh house.

Yeah man. the fight is on HBO, so no big deal with the commercials.

But I won't watch regular TV unless it is my TIVO. Ijust hate my receiver from DirecTV.

Use to be able to select the tuner so you could switch back and forth, but can't do it any longer, unless I am missing something?

Yeah, just set whatever you're watching to record then you can switch around all you want. It'll even capture the buffer and throw it into the beginning of the recording automagically. The HR20 was rough around the edges when ti first came out, but it's pretty darned good now. I have a 1TB external sata dive hooked up to 2 of mine.

That is what I do, but just hate that...I liked being able to switch without recording anything.

it's a tivo patented feature. Dish got their arses sued off for copying too many of the tivo features. They had to dumb them down after teh suit.

But there's rumblings about the HD Tivo's coming back to DTV in a year or two.

I have DirecTV, which used TIVO, but doesn't seem like they are using it now with the HD.

They had HD Tivo's just they're all mpeg2 receivers and the new birds DTV is launching (D10 is going through final testing and will come online sept 15th to add those next 100 HD channels).

Ah. OKay. And even though swithing tuners was my favorite feature. Nothing like watching it in HD. I just need to get an HDMI hook up...
