Spidey 3... who saw it

Idiot Savant
Checked it out over the weekend and thought it was pretty dam good. Alot more emotion thrown into it then I expected, but still had tons of action. All in all it even made for a really good date movie.

I thought the story in and of itself was kinda rushed though. Just tried to explain to much information in a given 2hr and so of screen time. They really pushed the bar on cramming in as much as they possible could with the length of the movie.

Agreed, it was a great movie. The whole Spiderman series has been a deviation from the comics, but they've been pretty entertaining on their own, nonetheless. This was the first movie I could get my girlfriend to watch with me in over a year. She hates the whole theatre experience, but made an exception for this one. She cried at the end, so its a safe bet that she enjoyed it as much as I did.

Watch it dl, there all pretty good eye candy movies. Slow-mum I agree with the deviation aspects especially with the Venom story line.(but hey how else could they get it in the movie) At least they pretty much stick with the basics or the foundations of the characters. Some of the side plots though are pretty far gone though.

Personally, I think they tried to throw too much **** in there. Sandman...uuh sure. Venom...why not? New goblin? ehh... My main problem is that there was really only one fight with Venom...it was short, and featured 2 other people. I really hope they give Venom another movie. They didn't develop the character at all, and only gave lip service to the effects of the suit on the host.

i thought it was great, i couldnt believe the negative feedback it received from critics.
*SPOILER*
At the opening in new york one of the major characters revealed that their character was not actually dead and would reprise their role in the 4th film
*END SPOILER*
I really liked the new composer and i felt that the emotion only helped to strengthen the character development in this installment, I actually like Harry for once whereas in the others i thought he was a whiny snob. The end battle was awesome too though short.

Agree, I just don't think Raimi was a big fan of the Venom story line. He's of the old school spidey with villians like Oc, Green Goblin, and Sandman. The whole symbiote story was something totally new and uninformed with him, which could account for some of the lack of story development. Personal Venom was my fav villian growing up(along with Carnage) and I sure would have liked a little more detail on his development.
But still, at least we got to see him....

I am so looking forward to seeing this. Maybe part 4 will have more with Venom in it. Villians for that movie should be:

Venom
Hobgoblin
Doctor Octopus-if he didn;t die
Carnage

theyre saying the villains that are slated for 4 are going to be the Lizard, Carnage, and a possible appearence by the Black Cat, but if Venom doesnt come back theres going to be a loooot of pissed off fanboys out there, theres no excuse for Venom not having his own spinoffs, cereal, fruit snacks, and sequels

The lizard and black cat would suck. They better bring back Venom.

if they dont little kiddey up the Lizard and make him vicious and scary he could be cool, but if they go for the PG audience it will basically be the worst villain ever

Venom the lethal enforcer fruit snacks.... it would sell itself!!

4 should have Venom and Carnage period. That would break records again.

Venom, Carnage and Hobgoblin have always been my fav villians.

LOL I would buy the fruit snacks.

I would like to see the Lizard and Kraven in the same movie if they were planning to use either of those characters, i think it could make for an interesting cross examination of the villains, who is the real villain if one villain is hunting the other?

Ooooooh, throw Vermin into the mix and who knows what'll happen.

LOL, I'd forgotten about Molten Man.

As for 300, I liked Spider Man better alot less blood and gore though.

agreed on rushing through the story. the venom suit more or less 'appeared' and didn't give any explanation. brock became him way too soon IMO, should have waited til the 4th one for that. not complaining though, great movie, would definitely see it again.

Honestly even sandmans story was somewhat shortened and rushed(although it did fit in well with the black suit story). They just needed a villian to fill in some of the action sequence time while they focused more on the love and life side of characters. The end goal of the movie was Venom, and in order to tailor the movie to that and allow for the character development which all the other movies where know for, some eye-candy action time was needed. Sandman got that job done for them, but resulted in a really really rushed character story for all the villians in the movie.

I agree with you Beez.... it's just to much at once. But since it was obvious that the fans wanted Venom, they'd of been pissed if it didn't happen. Still, it was a fine movie all in all.

i didnt really care for the movie all they need is ONE just ONE villian to focus on unfortuanly spiderman is following in batmans ( not the new one which was great) path "hey let put as many bad guys as we can in one movie" if they would have focused on just venom and have a hint of a carnage spawn at the end that would have been a great move plus the damn relationship was just dragged on too long.
