this will give you a little backround on the Yankees. they were started by two NY bartenders for $18,000. they worked their way up from nothing like a lot of people do.
 
i hate how most anti yankee fans just complain about the payroll...yankees are the most well known baseball franchise in the world = most revenue...the more money they make the more money they can spend...and boston and even the NY Mets are up there on the payroll...

give us some cred we came down to 180 mil. this year ....lol

but seriously the series was a good one but any boston fan should be able to admit it would have been a totally different game if wang or mussina was on the mound ? the yanks bull pen just blew it...yanks had a 2 run lead late in all three games and the bull pen sucked...the sox only outscored the yanks 21 to 17 in the series...this weekend sox should be facing wang...and has any yankee fans heard somthin about hughes pitchin this week ??

WOW...Dice K did a nice job after the three walks in the 4th inning he shut em down......Yankees should of outbid Boston for Dice-K that was a mistake.

Sure you can build a team around a few free agents, but when you dont have a good farm system and draft good prospects, you can maybe make the playoffs every year, but the Yankees wont win a championship. Look at the Colts. They didnt over pay James, then they win a championship with 2 young talented RB's. The Yankees can try and trade away all their prospects for over rated talent like they do every year late in the season, but that wont buy them a championship. ROFL at the Yankees being behind the Tampons, last in the AL East. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!! I LOVE IT!
You may have some big time hitters on your team, but pitching and defense wins championships. I see neither on the Yankees $200 million dollar payroll. I hope this is the year Steinbrenner finally has a heart attack. With the amount of money he has to spend, he should find better coaches to teach his overpaid players how to perform once they are set for life. ROFL @ Yankees fans! Last place! yanks look pretty good these last few games. and you all know who is coming back to town. yeah buddy. plus the next 10 games for the yankees are all easy wins if they dont mess it up but boston has to play detroit. might close that gap before may is over

28 million for a 45 year old who will pitch for 3 months and at best he is a 5 inning pitcher...The Bullpen is da problem.
 
the bull pen has been a problem because they havent had any rest....they'll have rest now with pettite wang and mussina healthy....

LOOK AT THE ROTATION NOW !!!

I don't care what the mans hair looks like as long as he plays the way he does. I think the yanks should use the tide to clean up their act b/c they just plain stink. 6 game lead at the beginning of may.....gotta love it!

I think this statement is really SAD! I see you're still bitter about boston handing the yanks their a$$ in the 2004 alcs. There isn't a better rivalry in sports in my opinion and i respect it..... but god i love watching the yankees and their fans squirm.
 
yeah they got us in 04 but count all the WS wins the Yankees club has. they have been getting it done since the 20`s

honestly as a yankee fan i really dont give a sh*t about 04'....i think its pretty funny how boston fans still think about how awesome it was to finally beat the yanks...congrats for that...but when you finally win over us consistently for years like we beat up on you then get back at me...

if you guys continue on your pace youll win your next ws in what 2086? u guys wish you could have the frustration of us yankee fans not winining for a few years...we also win the division every single year!! and if you finally do it this year live it up cause it wont happen again!!!

on a yankee note....when do you guys think clemens will pitch first? espn is sayin possibly begining of june but who knows...also i heard that hughes' injury wasnt as bad as originally evaluated...good news!!! also i thnk giambi's injury might be more serious than everyones letting on hes sat out 2 games...is there a DL trip soon ?...i kno we got our ass whooped the last game by texas but takin 5 outa 6 !!! we got seattle today hopefully we get some good refs instaed of the blind ones that cost us that game last series....

I hope we hammer the dinosaur and his aging team into extinction.......while i was a clemens fan growing up and still respect him as a player, i think the deal he's getting from the yankees further exemplifies how desperate the yankees really are at this point. I'm glad we didn't get him b/c with our starting rotation we sure as hell don't need him or the huge payroll chunk he requires.....anyways it will be an interesting and exciting series when the time comes.
 
well the series is split 1,1 at NY...did anyone see that tag to coco crisp in the 8th? WTF !!! i kno the yanks still woulda lost but boston racked up 3 more runs after that...just shows that when the yanks arent doin well we dont get any calls even at home....(just like the one versus seattle i think...?) well the last ones tomorrow pettie vs schilling....should be good

dude we suck. we look like $hit in every game we play in and they are too rich to care. they need to wake the fcuk up and play to win not to get paid. im not even going to keep track of them till after the all star game. :rant:
