Question about wireless network

I know nothing...
We have wireless network at home and for some reason my laptop stop receiving signal today. I restarted my comp several times, but "no wireless network found in range". I'm using different laptop right now and it has good signal and my laptop still have no signal. Any advice? Thanks.

try unpluging the main jack. not sure if we have the same prob but that fixs my when it craps out
 
no, but 2 other laptops working just fine. it dropped connection like 5 times earlier this morning and then it quit for good. i just ran a scan and found one adware, but I don't see how it would hurt internet connection.
 
It may just be having connectivity issues with your laptop. Do a restart on the modem and router before giving it up as a problem with your laptop.
 
Well if its the card just pop it out and either test it in one of those other laptops, or take one that is working and pop it in yours. You'll prob have to install some drivers but that shouldnt be a problem (if you have to get drivers from the internet just plug directly into the router)
 
I have internal card, but I went and bought new external card and it's working just fine now. It just pisses my off, because I just spent over $200 for new hard drive just 2 weeks ago and now this ****.
My new one is gonna be pimped out Mac. I hope I can afford it soon.

over $200 for a hard drive?. Dang, is your old computer, the one with the wireless problem a Mac or Pc?

Hard drive itself was only $85 but I did it at Comp USA and they charge like $100 just to find out what the problem is. It took for them a ****ing whole week to do so, plus they charge another $100 to recover your data from old hard drive, but I didn't do it, I was smart enough to have most important data backed up myself before.
I have PC laptop right now.
 
Ok, I went to windows website and searched for what could be wrong with my wireless, downloaded something and it fixed my problem. Go figure.

Go to a nerd friend next time. He probably wouldn't charge you as much. There are lots of computer nerds out there willing to fix your pc or at least help you free of charge. Nerds are in abundance these days.
 
Yea, I know, but I was in Portland when it happened and I don't know too many people here. And I use my comp for business a lot, so I needed to fix it fast, this is why I was pissed off because it took all week for them to do it.

Oh well that sucks. Maybe have a separate back up laptop?. Either that or use only one for business and one for home.
 
yea, I'm thinking of buying new Mac sometimes, but I have few different comps, so I still had access to internet, but if I'd have travel that week, that would suck.
