Protein frozen yogurt?

Why couldn't you make your own high protein frozen yogurt?

This is just an idea have you...

Throw ingrediants in a blender, then put in a container and freeze for an hour or so. Could prolly do without the egg whites but I was thinking it would give it a better consistancy.

Chocolate pecan frozen yogurt:
2 cups fat free plain yogurt (28p/38c/0f)
2 egg whites (7/0/0)
30 grams chocolate protein powder (true proteins premium dutch chocolate outta do the trick!) (27/0/0)
1/2 ounce pecans (3/3/10)
total: 514 calories, 65p/41c/10f

Think it would work? Sounds like a really tastey snack to me...:head:

I had though about doing this a while back. I was planning to try some strawberry frozen yogurt using my ice cream maker but never got around to it. Think I'm gonna give it a shot though now that you bring it up. Let me know how it turns out.

How expensive are these ice cream makers? During my contest prep when all I could think about was food, I found a bunch of healthy ice cream recipes that sounded good(like every other food on the planet) but they all required an ice cream maker.

Anywhere from $30-$300 depending on how fancy you want to get. I'm sure you could find a decent one at Target or Walmart for a good price. The cheap ones have worked good for me. Pick one up I think you'll like it.
