Anyone seen the new movie "Smokin Aces"?

I've heard mixed reviews on this movie...wondering if anyone has seen it and if they would recommend it. I'm trying to talk my girlfriend into going...lol ;-)

Saw it. It was OK. I could nit pick...but the bottom line is.....if you like guns, ultra-violence, F'd up characters, and a plot twist from left field.....then you'll like this movie.


here is a little tidbit from Movies.com:

You can look at this movie from two directions really. Either it's the derivative son of macho-BS-posturing movies like the ones Guy Ritchie and Quentin Tarantino and their other imitators make, therefore making it aesthetically bankrupt and not worth your time, or …

… or you can focus on the surface details like brawling hookers, lesbian contract killers, cocaine-cam shots of Piven sweating and bleeding from the eyes, kung-fu fighting kids with Ritalin erections, Bateman in women's panties, point blank elevator shoot-outs, gruesome makeup tricks like fake boils and herpes sores, dead people being used as ventriloquist dummies and the guy who played Booger in Revenge of the Nerds. OK, yes, I know you just decided to go see it based on this list. I don't blame you.
 
I don't really care to see pointless violence and such unless there's a good story to back it. Would you say the story kept your attention and made it worth seeing?

I thought it was a really good movie. I generally don't watch a lot of action movies, they don't interest me, but this one was done very well.

There is a decent story, and a good twist at the end.....but not a great story and awesome twist. Plus....I think it should have been more fast paced.

It was a good flick....just not a great one.
 
It was a good movie, not as funny as they tried to make it appear because of Piven and Reynolds (who did a good job being a serious toughguy)..

It's the kind of movie where things start to warm alittle, then it gets crazy, then it makes a "what the Fcuk?" type turn near the end.

If you want Academy Award type sh!t, see Babel..
 
It was good, mindless action jackson-style stupidity.

Kinda like Coyote Ragtime Show. CRS has twelve female assasins in it though, therefore it wins more than Smokin' Aces.

Saw Babel...I thought the director was trying to leave to much interpretation to the viewer...I good movie, but I didn't think it was Oscar worthy. Excellent cinematography though!
