Anabolic memes

I can't believe I get to use Lonely Island memes twice in one week here.

one of my golf buddies Adam had sexual relations with this woman who had bariatric surgery who had so much loose skin when he was hitting it doggystyle he said it felt like he was trying to hold a trash bag full of vanilla pudding :ROFLMAO:

I could imagine being so strong that I needed knee sleeves when I benched?!
This would be accessory db work after overhead event training, likely Logpress (but possibly Axle Continental Clean & Press). That’s why he’s wearing the rubber-textured grip shirt and neoprene shorts as well. So he’ll have to bend his knees for cleaning & push-pressing/jerking.

I watched a man blow his knee out attempting a new American Axle Press record in person some years back in Indiana at a Giants Live event - that will stay with you!

See, that makes sense now lol

We didn’t get tickets for the Pro strongman show this year at the Arnold since my wife was busy competing, but I caught a glimpse of Thor bopping around the expo inbetween his lifting.

That guy never ceases to amaze when you see him in person; he’s just about the largest human you could ever find. Not like muscular or fattened up even like most open strongmen, but moreso his literal frame - it’s all proportional, just huge.

When Thor deadlifted 501kg, he weighed 464lbs (at 6'9") not looking "fat" imo considering what he was training for. Looking like he could have easily packed on another 40lbs on his frame and still not looked fat at over 500lb is mind blowing. In his subsequent deadlifts of 505kg, 510kg and soon to be 515kg (upcoming enhanced games May 21-24), he has been at a lower bodyweight of about 435lbs and has also moved his foot stance closer. This seems to be optimum for him. What a specimen.

When he got lean for boxing Eddie Hall, he still weighed close to 350lbs and was ripped.

I think it’s worth noting that there is probably no way Thor COULD actually get to 500lbs when peaking, from a logistical perspective. The amount of daily calories he was routinely consuming to be over 450 was completely insane. Some of his daily food videos were mind-blowing! It was nearly Dave Palumbo status.

after reading the "meal plan" I can't help but think that's my weekly diet in calories but in one day. If he wasn't eating or drinking a shake he must have been on the toilet.

the amount of dedication and patience this guy has .. he has to be a bodybuilder like us.

I remember watching Eddie Hall doing some grocery shopping and cooking and his daily intake was like my weekly intake. I think I read he reached 16k cals/day at max at one point. Dave Tate had a podcast open up with strongmen talking about how hard it was to take a **** when you're that big and inventing a tool for wiping when they couldn't reach anymore 😂

Do you think he was setting an alarm for the 3am and 5am feedings or just not sleeping?
Seven meals w 1.5 Met-RX packets plus a hundo of carbs is insane in itself.

I know Branch Warren & Jay Cutler talked about keeping a shake & protein bars in the bathroom they’d pound whenever they woke to pee in the night. I suspect Palumbo made a big one and drank half each time he woke - it’s hard to sleep deep on lots of gear.

This is well beyond anything i could have EVER imagined

^You might enjoy this.

Swede and Rich Piana both were mass monsters of that era & all friends with Palumbo, so there diets were very similar to his in many ways. Rich’s was north of 9,000 cals as well when he was competing at 280 on stage.

It’s interesting to note all 3 of them never were able to turn Pro. That tells you how deep the competition was in that mass monster era, when 270-280lbs lean doesn’t get you a pro card.

Ed has stated he was over 12k/day routinely at his peak, and a full size cheesecake was his nightly desert (after 6-7 other serious meals).

wild how much things have changed, I do remember vividely the era of folks doing this. my former sister in law competed on stage and did very well but her coach even had her doing the same thing, waking up for that midnight protein. This was like 25 years ago ish

I am so lucky to be retired now. I can go to the gym at 9am when the broccoli kids are no where in sight.
Its only geriatric crowd. So as a bonus, I am also the strongest guy at the gym lol
