HGH and Fasting Glucose

I tagged you two since I know you bother are familiar with GH. So I just started back on GH 9 days ago. I bought a glucose meter to monitor my fasted glucose. My baseline fasted glucose on average is 88. I’ve taken my fasted glucose levels every morning since starting GH. It’s been anywhere from 100 - 125. I know it can raise your glucose, so here’s the changes I made before starting GH:

I workout in the late afternoon around 4:30 - 6:30 or 7, so the majority of my carbs are lunch, preworkout meal, intra and post workout with dinner since I come straight home and eat dinner. I’ve been taking berberine and cinnamon at lunch and dinner. My carbs for lunch are 1 - 1.5 cups of rice depending if it’s a workout day. If it’s a day off I’ll eat a cup of rice at lunch and a 3/4 cup for my afternoon meal. I’ll reduce carbs for dinner and eat more veggies. I don’t eat sweets and I’m not eating bad except on Saturday for lunch after our programmed powerlifting workout at our trainer’s house we will go to a local burger place and get a burger and fries. That’s the only trash meal I’ll have all week. The rest is rice, veggies and meats.

When I ate dinner tonight I had roasted sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts with smoked turkey sausage. 30 minutes after eating my blood sugar was 90.

I’ve read so much contradictory info on when dosing GH to do it 2 hours after your last meal if doing it before bed and I’ve also read you don’t need to worry when you take it after a meal. Bedtime is when I’ve been pinning it and I’m only pinning 2iu’s. I’m mainly using it for the recover aspect and a slight recomp. I’ve used it before and used 2iu’s. I tried going up to 3 but got bad carpal tunnel symptoms in my right hand so I stopped for a few days and went back to 2ius. I pinned 2 ius for about three months. And I’ll admit I don’t know what my glucose was because I didnt check it. I just went off feel like I’ve done with MK in the past.

So my question to you guys or anyone else that used GH, does it take time for your body to adjust and your glucose will level off or do I need to scrap the GH?

I haven’t ever used it seriously, just 2iu for 2,4,8 weeks at a time for healing or fatloss. So I don’t know if the blood sugar adapts, but I don’t see why it would. So I would not run it endlessly without breakouts, unless you find a way to manage sugars better. Might need a lot more Berberine, or to look at something like Reta, Metformin, etc. Or just run it 3-5 days per week, and see if the fasting sugars on off-days trend up over time or remain around 90. That’s probably the simplest.

Regarding timing, people saying take it away from food came about because HGH isn’t produced naturally in the body when insulin is high - but the bros didn’t understand that the two actually work beautifully together for recovery. It simply must be done with exogenous GH administration, but it absolutely works. In fact, GH triggers lipolysis, which is why taking it with a cheat/postWO meal makes it so much harder to get fat from that meal. So take your evening dose before bed as it suits you, regardless of proximity to your supper.

I had a conversation with someone about this not too long ago. When you start GH, there can be a initial change in fasted glucose levels and changes how your nutrient partitioning works and it should normalize. He has his peeps use metformin with the HGH before bed if it happens. But it shouldn't last.

I also agree with hide on HGH and food. I tried playing withy dosing and timing since I train mostly in the evening 6-8. I was taking my HGH on the way to the gym, then I'd start my intra work out with carbs, eaa and creatine about 20min into my workout, go home and eat my post workout meal.

I still took metformin before bed too tho. 500mg extended release after my very last meal

I actually tested my glucose a few times this week and despite all the crazy s*** I've been eating my glucose levels are actually kind of low, lake low enough to the point it would explain why my appetite is not very great and maybe I need to start intentionally eating some sweets during the day lol. Last fasted reading was 66

Well there must be something to that in ref to your glucose eventually evening out. It was back down to 93 this morning and I ate the same thing yesterday as I have all week with the exception for dinner. I still had some carbs at dinner too.

Even if it was 100 routinely, if you never see it consistently trend upwards I wouldn’t worry about that. But understand that 120 is officially diabetic, and another 20% higher, so that would be cause for concern to be an endless thing. In my non-medical bropinion.

I was just listening to the anabolic bodybuilding podcast and they were talking about this topic and it says in the literature for HGH, that anyone who had elevated glucose levels seem to fix it by switching to every other day dosing.

So if you notice that it doesn't seem to normalize maybe try going for a slightly bigger dose every other day

Yeah at thar level is what concerned me. I’d rather pull it than fight with it. My blood sugar has never been an issue.

I appreciate that! I will definitely give it a shot if it doesn’t seem to stabilize.
