Urolithin A at Vitamin Shoppe, wtf inside.

Urolithin A at my local VS store.

I thought it was a supplement under a patent owned by a single company.


Looks suspicious 🤨

At first, the company with the patents threatened anyone that made a Urolithin A supplement.

I never did too deep of a dive into their patents myself, but for the longest time it seemed like no reputable companies were willing to do a Urolithin A even if they felt like maybe they could get around the patents, because of the size of the patent holding company and the potential for legal fees.

You do see a few coming out now - but you do have to be diligent bc a lot of the ones on Amazon there's no way would meet label claims bc some of them sell for less than legit would even cost to make.

Sometimes companies may find ways to get around specifics of patents by altering something slightly. Sometimes patents are just usage patents. Anyone that has the time may could do a deep dive into the patents on it and see what exactly they are, but it can be confusing as heck. I've meant too for a long time, but just run out of hours in the day.

I’m surprised because I thought VS had a criteria for choosing companies based on certain characteristics.

Also prohealth is selling urolithin A under the name of a patent urolithin called Ultrauro.

Like you said, they modified it using an Acetate version to avoid a possible patent infringement, right?
 
I noticed it and was curious too. I have similar beliefs about VS and what they will carry, so I gave it consideration. If you look at the dosage each bottle is about 15 days worth. So about as expensive to run 30 days as the original branded ingredient.

Yep, they have promotions, the second for 50% off.
 
For me Vitamin shoppe is great. The clearance there is great and adding stuff like lj100 and peptistrong at fair pricing has been a good addition. Love them or hate them but redcon1 protein buy one get one...60 servings for $40 more then fair for me.

Totally agree. Overall they are a great store. Best spot for energy drink deals too.

I’ve been reading about NAD+ and haven’t reached a clear conclusion.


While NAD+ levels do appear to decline around the age of 40, the oral absorption of NMN and related derivatives seems to be poor.


Compounds such as resveratrol, niacin, and other precursors may be more effective.

Do you feel any real visible mental or physical improvement?

Yeah, there are so many things on there that don't meet label claims.

It's been confirmed by NOW testing so many brands and some that fail over and over are still allowed on there and a couple are best selling brands on there. It's sad.

I always try to stick to trusted brands for my commodity items, such as NOW, Nature's Way, Life Extension, etc.
These brands are quality and fair prices and I always tell people - if you see something sold for much less than those brands, something is likely up bc they price fairly.

There are brands on there that claim to sell things for less than legit ones would cost to make.

A real pet peeve of mine is brands on there lying about allergen information and about things being vegetarian that aren't. Those things can be serious issues for some people.

I think Steve answered this time ago,
they are asking for a large amount of stock.

Many of the ingredients they use at SNS are difficult to obtain and aren’t always in stock due the exclusivity of this ingredients.

Mine is when people start trashing a certain compound because they bought from one of the brands that only exists on amazon. Saying it doesnt work when they probably never ingested the label ingredient.
 
The markup on any supplements is very high. Unfortunately the consumer tries to skirt the crazy prices by going cheap with different companies. Play the placebo game, lol.

There is a sketchy company selling phosphatidic acid, they sold thousands of bottles, unbelievable.

Yeah, there are companies that claim to sell it on there for less than legit PA would cost to even make.

Vitamin Shoppe usually wants to carry brands that have a very high ad spend and also a lot of times want payment terms, which make it hard for smaller to medium sizes companies.

I understand why they want those things from a business perspective, but it just makes it difficult for many brands.
Especially in a case like ours having so many sku's.

Some things would potentially have stock issues because of the limited supply of some raw materials.

But they also usually want a high ad spend and net terms, which make it difficult for small to medium sized companies.

If we had a handful of sku's, especially if they were just basic ingredients, it would be much easier.

I do hope that we can be sold there one day, its just a process as a company to try to scale up.

Yes, we hope to this coming year. It's just a lot involved in doing so because of the large number of products that we have. Plus, just learning the ad process there.

I bet it's a pain but definitely would make it more convenient and reach more people.
