AM vs PM bloods?

So I got my baseline bloods a couple weeks back. I was unable to do them in the morning and didn’t think it was a big deal. I was well fasted (maybe too well?).

My baseline natural results came back as 583ng/dl total T, and 63pg/ml free T.

Total isn’t bad but free is low normal. After doing more research it seems as if the morning draw would have told my true testosterone peak. I’m reading that AM readings can be as much as 20-30% higher than evenings. Mine were taken at around 4:45pm.

Anybody have any input to this being true? At least to this degree? 20-30% is huge. Thanks for any insight guys!

For context, I’m male 35 years old. Natural. For now.

A couple guidelines i always follow.
No strenous exercise in the 24hrs preceding the test.
Fast for at least 8 hrs
Have the draw taken in the morning.

Peak levels are higher in the morning. Really though your T level seems to be fine. The free T level might have been affected slightly but I don't think you would have any more to gain from running the test again.

An amateur BB'er I know all natty and competes around 185 has a T level of 383 if that info is at all helpful to you.

I should have also got my SHBG level checked. I’m very new to this stuff and wanted to do my due diligence and do base bloodwork before hopping on a test cycle. Bit I’m awaiting e2 result now and that’s it. Everything else came back great hamaticrit was already on the low normal side (43.2) as well as all my cholesterol and triglycerides.

Wise decisions definitely. Did you get you liver values checked? Often that isn't necessary unless you have reasons to be concerned or will be taking orals, test shouldn't really affect the liver very much. Also, have you thought about taking some other compounds than AAS at first? EpiA or epiA with androsterone Those are effective, minimally suppressive, and will give you an idea of what it's like to come off a cycle. Results won't be like test but way easier to recover from.

Yea so one thing that was elevated in my liver was my ALT. Now I have recently dropped some weight fairly quickly taking retatrutide. I wasn’t eating enough so the weight loss was probably a bit too rapid (30 pounds in about 8 weeks). That’s what I’m chalking that up to. It was at 68 U/L.

And no I haven’t looked into that other stuff. Might have to do some digging now.

Oh yea that amount weight loss will cause that if your bilirubin was in check I wouldn't think twice about it

Billiruben was actually just slightly elevated as well at 1.5. Still think the rapid weight loss and perhaps dehydration. Was finding it hard to get fluids in on Reta to. But I wasn’t really thinking about it. Now that I seen some of my evaluated results I’ve made it a point to eat more and eat right as well as hydration so I’m not super worried about the liver stuff at this time.

yea as far as bloods go you should be fine. Seeing how you've made a lot of progress it might be worth it to do a maintenance program for a few weeks and then start. Also, I'd highly recommend going the PCT route instead of TRT. You should be able to recover your current levels without too much trouble depending on your run length. Of course I wish you the best results either way but if you decide the PCT route aint working then you can switch to TRT. After so long though it's really hard to get gonadal function going again. You talk about your age sometimes but 35 is young, I hit my PR of 604lb squat at around 38. Best of luck to you and keep us posted please. You made great progress so far and interested to see you keep going.

Thank you! And yes I will take that under advisement for sure. Perhaps the PCT route should be done to see how the cycle went to make a judge on going TRT. I have heard that these can get addicting but I wanna play it smart and I enjoy the science of it all.
