High rbc! Worried

34 years old. Blasted and cruised when I was younger. Took a ton of stuff. Last few years I only do trt 160 mgs. 2 months ago got blood work and my hematocrit was 54. So I donated blood. In the mean time I started HCG as well. Just got blood work again and it's now 57! The highest it's ever been on my whole life even higher than when I was blasting. I thought I was hydrated enough. I did test early morning after doing yard work for an hour or two but not sure if that matters. Worried I'm gonna drop dead.

Also just started 25 mg anavar alongside my trt after getting blood work cause I assumed it would be fine. BP is normal. I did hydrate a lot and retest and should get the results tonight. Should I immediately stop the var or is it ok to still run?

Your probably dehydrated if you were out doing yard work but regardless I'd stop var and go retest and get a second look. Also for whatever it's worth I wouldn't be worried about the number too much unless I also had high blood pressure. Don't freak yourself out and give yourself high BP lol. It's s touchy subject around here because some of the newer information is starting to disagree with the risks And it seems to be a lot more complex. I'm not personally that worried but bout hematocrit but that's high, I also do tend to be cautious because it's still up in the air So you're better safe than sorry.

You should be well hydrated and drink about 64oz of water the morning of the test. To be fair I looked at number up I didn't know it off top of my head lol

Todd lee is actually a medical Dr, professor and a pharm d-phd . So despite his personality he is a real doctor

Thanks yea donating today and then gonna recheck labs tomorrow again. I'll make to drink a lot before test . BP is still fine. I do notice I feel like fullmess in my upper abdomen and feel really out of breath and light headed after doing sets. I also stopped taking Omeprazole and I have acid reflux so not sure if that's from that or my rbc

Long ago I had to discontinue HRT due to this. I was having to have multiple therapeutic phlebotomies monthly. I could feel it when it got high, fullness in chest, redness there too, shortness of breath , brain fog and high blood pressure. I hope you are able to get yours under control without abandoning HRT.

Did you happened to notice that the more often you donate the more often you start needing to donate because it starts rising faster

Hard to say if that was the case or not. It usually was only a week or two after a donation at RC that I needed to pay for one at the hospital. I see a promo on Tiktok for a supplement called hemoflow to address this but no idea if it's legit.

Nattokinase and antioxidants can help.

Telmasartin lowers hematocrit
METHYLENE BLUE too.

Sharing my experience here just in case it's helpful. I started Test Cyp just about a year ago. Interestingly enough, my H&H is lower since starting test than before (before TRT, I ran high H&H). This almost turned me away from TRT.

Unsurprisingly, when I first started TRT my H&H shot up, not quite high enough to justify a therapeutic donation but high enough to put me on "alert" and cross check my labs before going to donate blood. That lead me to a rather surprising discovery - I was functionally anemic and my ferritin was below 30. Definitely not a good idea to donate at that level!

I had to act. I decided to risk a high-dose FE refeed using Pro-Fe for about 6 weeks to, which I took with 1g calcium daily during that time. I took mine in the afternoon to make sure I didn't kill absorption with tea/caffeine/etc as well.

After taking ProFe for about 6 weeks I took a retest at the lab of CBC, Ferritin and a few other unrelated panels. Ferritin was now back up to a solid 80, right where I want it! Here's the part that really surprised me. My plan was to donate blood once I got ferritin up to 80-90 as I assumed my refill activities would kick my H&H into overdrive, but the opposite happened. My H&H came in almost perfectly normal for the first time in years.

YMMV, but that was my journey.

I just got over being sick (a stomach virus or something). I went to the Dr, and my RBC count was high, but he wasn't really concerned about it, because it was probably dehydration from being sick.
