Replaced my nattokinase

Switched my natto to this product, seems even better but anyone help me with any reason I shouldn’t be taking it ?

I’m on trt year around and blast 2-3 times a year

Lumbrokinase is good for heart health and preventing blood clots, ive only recentlyheard about it and That's all I know. @Hyde I bet knows something bout it

Essentially both Natto and Lumbro are good for preventing blood clots but do it differently. Natto breaks down fibrin and Lumbro reduces fibrin. I have several specialist friends that have been digging into lumbro because there is some evidence it is helpful for those that deal with long Covid and the build up of fibrin that is causing blood clots, but there really isn't mush research done on it to prove much. They are marketing it under a name called Boluoke.

Everything I've heard from those smarter than me seems to point to it being perfectly fine to take and likely beneficial, but not nearly as much has been studied about the health benefits over natto.

All I’ve heard is anecdotal like Kisaj mentioned; I haven’t read any studies.

Probably cheaper to take 100mg/2,000fu of Nattokinase twice a day than this once a day, but I am only guessing at cost. Nattokinase is dirt cheap, and I normally take just one per day year round, unless I get COVID or am using Tamoxifen or something else associated with higher clot risks.

I use both in individual products, spaced 12 hours apart. Now then, here is some information based on "my reading". Lumbrokinase is reportedly 300 times more powerful than serrapeptase and 30 times more powerful than nattokinase. Lumbrokinase is found in earthworm powder (therefore, not vegan), and nattokinase – from the Japanese food natto – is made by a bacterium found in soil (vegan).

Both are protelytic enzymes that break down certain proteins and cleave bonds to reduce/break down clots.

While they accomplish similar things, they do so by different methods of action.

Nattokinase is a serine protease enzyme which cleaves bonds in certain proteins and acts as a fibrinolytic to break down fibrin clots by cutting the fibrin mesh. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and reduces inflammation associated with lipopolysaccharide.

Lumbrokinase also has fibrinolytic activity and also reduces platelet activation.

Is your cholesterol sky high? If not, I would be weary of red yeast rice as it has a compound that acts as a statin. Imo current cholesterol ranges are too low as a way to move pharmaceuticals. Maybe the red yeast rice amount is super low in this product tho.

That was a bit of a red flag, product-wise, for me on this - no mention of the monacolin k content in the red yeast rice.

If I decide to take a statin, I want to know how much I am taking and make educated dosing decisions.

FYI, if you want a statin doctors love to hand them out like candy so I wouldn’t mess with a supplement that may or may not have any. For that matter, I would not use a statin probably. The muscle tearing and metabolic disease are worse than the LDL they lower, by far. Ezetimibe is a much safer drug to talk with a doctor about. 5mg daily will lower LDL by over 10% with no sides for most people.

The bigger issue with red yeast rice is that most only contains trace amounts of monacolin K, which is what helps lower cholesterol. They’ve found most products essentially ineffective unless specifically extracted for monacolin K.

The issue there is that any product specifically extracted to enhance monacolin k is illegal in the US.

It's not that an individual necessarily cares about it being legal - its that no cGMP facility is going to let the ingredient in the building, so then you run into a situation where if they're not GMP and not testing their raws, can you really trust that you're getting real Nattokinase? (which is notorious for a lot of products not meeting label claims)

I posted a full analysis about that along with the links to the FDA statements and laws on it awhile back, but couldn't find it when I tried the search function bc for some reason, it seems harder to search your own posts.

I personally wouldn't use Red Yeast Rice unless I had high cholesterol and had exhausted my other options; and even then, I would have to be in pretty rough shape numbers wise to use it year round.

I'm very very leery of the quality of a lot of brands to begin with, and Nattokinase is one that is known for a lot of raws not testing out properly and not meeting label claims.

Those would be my main two worries.

If I wanted both ingredients, I would buy them separately without the Red Yeast Rice if it were me.

True, yet very easy to get and not sure I trust the companies that are offering it. Better and safer ways to improve cholesterol.

Thanks guys, my cholesterol is always above 200 even when I’m eating extremely healthy and not on gear.

I’m due to have my blood drawn next week so I’ll have an actual number then. I’ll finish off this bottle since it sounds like there isn’t to much red yeast I’m it to worry about a months worth but will go back to my normal and possibly add the lumbrokonaise too it.

had blod drawn last month and after over a year on blasting and cruising hemo was only at 17.2

I did have Covid extremely bad in 2020 and was hospitalized and on oxygen for 6 weeks. Almost didn’t pull through so blood clots always scare me now

For Nattokinase, I would suggest NOW Foods as I trust their quality.

For cholesterol in general, we are going to be coming out with Cholesterol Support XT in the next couple of months. I did a test run on the ingredients earlier this year and I had posted my bloodwork before and after and it was pretty significant. I've had issues with my cholesterol being naturally higher than you would think it would've been based on my diet and it worked great. We had a lot of people asking us to use Red Yeast Rice in the formula and I wouldn't because its something I'm not personally comfortable taking or selling to people and I think it should always be a single ingredient item for people that really need it and have exhausted other options.

My bloodwork change on my cholesterol in 4 months earlier this year was significant enough that my doctor had me have it rechecked bc they thought it was an error, so I took that as a compliment haha.

Looking forward to the product

the vax is causing clots.....not long Covid

Both do, the Vax is causing it, But getting covid in general increases clotting factors in the unvaxed by binding to certain receptors ant through a bunch of complicated processes I don't really understand it increases coagulation.

They both are. There are so many issues related to long covid- mainly related to cardiovascular. We know there are a lot of questions and concerns around the vax but I didn't want to derail this conversation.
