Ive developed a kratom habit. 3g in morning, 4g in afternoon. Not too excessive, although a habit none-the-less. for those who also have a kratom habit, do you notice less mental stimulation from your prohormones/AAS?
That right there. If you are someone who chases a feeling like the first time you are gonna have issues. If you use 2-6 grams a day max to me it’s actually way easier to stop than stims are. I can not use kratom for a week no problem, but if I stop all stims I get actually sick feeling and pounding headaches by day 2.I was hooked on that **** for 5 years and it is by far the nastiest garbage I've ever laid hands on, completely changed who I was and the withdrawal was crazy. Comes on slow at 1-2 grams a day then creeps up because you have to chase the feel, even with tolerance breaks.
You may want to ask yourself if it is simply providing less mental stimulation from your AAS, or if it is actually deadening your excitement in general.
It's no joke. I know a kid who kicked his heroin addiction using kratom, except now he has a bottle per week kratom addiction that costs 8x as much as his dope habbit was. .I was hooked on that **** for 5 years and it is by far the nastiest garbage I've ever laid hands on, completely changed who I was and the withdrawal was crazy. Probably safer though despite the dose and cost. It's no joke. I know a kid who kicked his heroin addiction using kratom, except now he has a bottle per week kratom addiction that costs 8x as much as his dope habbit was. .
If you have a addictive personality or prior drug abuse problems It's a risky drug
7 to 10 days no caffeine and that will stop and you will get caffeine sensitivity completely back, at least most ppl will. But it actually has to be ZERO CAFFEINE. Even The tiny bit of caffeine in decaf coffee will stop this from happening. That right there. If you are someone who chases a feeling like the first time you are gonna have issues. Ya but that's like saying im gonna quit drinking hard liquor and only have wine.Probably safer though despite the dose and cost.
I can promise you 100% that if you don’t have an addictive personality, kratom is totally worth it.I looked into kratom and considered trying it out as an experiment. Then after reading about it, I asked myself a simple question - is it really worth getting started on this stuff? And I couldn't justify a "yes" answer. And I am not one with an addictive personality. I drink, but not excessively. My biggest vice by far is marijuana. I am not someone who smokes during the day or anything but I will take a couple hits or eat an edible almost every night before bed. Helps with sleeping and I prefer it to sleeping pills.
Thc is the only rec drug I still use. Not during the day either. Only at night a few times a week I have a edible, my tolerance is very low. 15mg or more and I'm fucked upI looked into kratom and considered trying it out as an experiment. See, it's interesting to me because I don't have an addictive personality. Never had an issue trying something, starting something for a bit and stopping. I never saw it coming with kratom. Tried it recreationally and found that it let me power through workouts and made me feel really good. I always dosed low around 2 grams. Took regular breaks. Then the feeling became shorter and shorter and the mentality of, "oh I am already dosing so low, what's another gram.." crept in, then 2x daily dosing so I could stretch it into the day. After awhile I was sitting at 5-7g a day- which annoyed me because I felt weak. But ultimately I found that it was making me a hermit, I didn't care about socializing, had a quick temper, everything would drive me nuts when I was coming down, and the physical changes- losing hair, dry patches on skin, black circles under my eyes, etc.. became too much. That right there. I can promise you that this is 100% not true. I personally know quite a few people that believed this until they didn't and there are plenty of boards out there discussing kratom and how sneaky it is and the difficulty stopping.I

I do drink occasionally but I wouldn't call it "recreational" because I don't get drunk or anything. If I go to a bar to watch a game and have some wings I might have a beer or 2. Occasionally I might have a scotch and cigar... but even that's rare. Let's put it this way... I can't remember the last time I've ever had a hangover.Thc is the only rec drug I still use. Not during the day either. Only at night a few times a week I have a edible, my tolerance is very low. 15mg or more and I'm fucked up

That's probably about where I am around too. My dosing is a little off from time to time as I make my own edibles. But I just find THC to be the best way to unwind at the end of the day/ before bed. It's by far my worst vice... which isn't too bad.I like 10 to 12mg thc
What is it going to tell me the 3rd time I read it that has any relevance?Read the part about addictive personality again
I will disagree with him, we'll kinda, to a degree. "worth it" is a very personal opinion. You would have to ask yourself what does worth it mean. I do like how I feel when I use it, and I won't use it more then 1 or 2 times in a month, Like I said above I have a bottle that's been around for 6 months and I haven't even put a Dent in it yet. The main reason I don't like it is because I feel sick 4 to 5 hours after taking it. So I can imagine the withdrawal will be horrible if I used it daily.Damnit! Stop teasing me!

You both make valid points to a degree, remember that were discussing our personal experience and opinions here. It's OK to disagree. I still don't think I would encourage someone to try it for the first time. But if someone wanted to I also wouldn't be against it. We're adults, we gotta decide for ourselves and sometimes we gotta learn the hard way. It may be a wonderful experience or it may be a terrible drug problem. It's a coin tossWhat is it going to tell me the 3rd time I read it that has any relevance?
I guess it just doesn't look like something that I feel is worth it for me to start. What I've read about the effects don't seem super apprealing to me to even bother starting with it. I just don't like the risk/reward profile for me. I'd rather try something like psilocybin if I'm going to try another recreational drug.I will disagree with him, we'll kinda, to a degree. I'm pro drug, if you wanna do something then do it. But the fact you already have a bad feeling about it leads me to believe you shouldn't use it.
The last 2 times I used it was during a poker tournament thst I knew was going to last about 6 hours.
i encountered this as well and started taking tums with it to counter the nausea. it led to increased dependence. it can be difficult to stop taking itA couple years ago, I utilized kratom for a couple weeks (maybe 3-4 x per week) and really enjoyed the effects of a few grams in the early afternoon.
Out of absolutely nowhere, the stuff made me super nauseous.. to the point of wanting to throw up. Tried again a week or so later, same result.
Never figured out what caused the internal switch, but looking back I'm glad it happened. I also have an addictive personality and would've likely gotten to a point where coming off would've been a HUGE issue.
my thoughts exactlyEveryone hug it out lol🫂
We are a strong headed group around here. Lolmy thoughts exactly
I missed this post. Making sure not to use it daily is important. So that's probably what's keeping you good here, or a lot of will power.I buy like 300 caps at a time. Each cap is like 600mgs (ish). I take 4 caps a dose and I will take it either 5 days on 2 days off or 3 days on and 4 days off depending on what I got going on. I also only order AFTER I run out so that I get probably a solid 7 days or so without anything.
It isn't just about an addictive personality.See, it's interesting to me because I don't have an addictive personality. Never had an issue trying something, starting something for a bit and stopping. I never saw it coming with kratom. Tried it recreationally and found that it let me power through workouts and made me feel really good. I always dosed low around 2 grams. Took regular breaks. Appreciate your insight because I have seen quite a number of guys here that (likely some of the same you refer to) that have tried unsuccessfully to stop as well. And I mentioned it up above but it got buried, is that there is addiction and there is dependence and in my personal experience, it was the dependence that got me and to be honest- scared the crap out of me. Because again, I've been able to pick up and put down anything I've tried in life, but kratom created physical dependence and that is largely why so many people have such difficulty stopping. Body aches, stomach cramps, inability to eat for days, headaches, restless legs, fatigue, on and on... It got to the point that if I didn't take it, I couldn't get anything done.It isn't just about an addictive personality.
An addictive personality Can get you addicted.
... But so can simply taking it for an extended period of time.
It's effects aren't just mental.
You can get Physically addicted.
I've seen it with people that I have a Lot of respect for.
One in particular (but not the only one, by Far) counselled others, and advised them on how to get rid of their addictions.
And over the years, because of physical punishment he received (I can't get more specific here), he Had to take pain medication for a while.
And he became addicted.
He felt humiliated at first, but it wasn't a weakness in his personality. His Body became physically addicted, and it was a struggle for him to finally not have to take any more medication.
I've seen plenty of guys on this board alone, confess to being addicted to Kratom, and formulate a plan to get off of it.
... MOST of them still haven't been able to.
There's one guy in particular who comes to mind (a Long time board member) who has publicly announced his failures at being able to stop, and formulating yet Another plan to stop (more times than I can probably remember at the moment).
... Only to fail yet again.
As far as I know, he still hasn't been able to quit, and he spends more money than you can believe on his addiction.
These specific examples are real, but they are only examples. The numbers are mind boggling.
:-(
I wish i could do that, I know I need to but there's not a chance in hell because of my job7 to 10 days no caffeine and that will stop and you will get caffeine sensitivity completely back, at least most ppl will. But it actually has to be ZERO CAFFEINE. Even The tiny bit of caffeine in decaf coffee will stop this from happening.
When I 1st quit drinking alcohol I was doing a pot of coffee per day, an entire 12 cup pot. I did that for months. 1100mg of caffeine per day and some days I'd have more.
I switched to decaf and had minor headaches but they were tolerated. Then I did the 10 days and felt way, way better. And after that just one cup of coffee or 1 expresso in the morning would light you up and give you a nice solid energy.
I'm actually about do for a stim break again.
I did a caffeine cleanse when I was on night shift 12 hour shifts in the military. Where there’s a will there’s a way!I wish i could do that, I know I need to but there's not a chance in hell because of my job
Good pointI did a caffeine cleanse when I was on night shift 12 hour shifts in the military. Where there’s a will there’s a way!
Ya lol, alcohol is better then both. In fact it was so much better then thc or kratom that I worked up to drinking 30 drinks a day, missing family functions, calling out of work, not paying my bills and racking up credit card debt because I was in the bar till 1am 7 days a week. And it's poison. With thc tho, I relax, watch TV and maybe eat some junk food. I rarely leave the house after consuming it and I sleep better. Well, maybe sleep longer. It's definitely arguable if the quality of sleep while on THC is any better and may actually be worse. But for a go, go, go person like me. A little thc puts the breaks on and does me benificial things.no "mental stim" effect ir difference for me with PHs/aas. i went through a time period last summer and fall where i used 4-6gm daily. it significantly impacted my mood - lots of mood swings, worse than some gear tbh. then i went cold turkey for some time. the first couple of days felt like crap, then all was good. now i prefer 1-2gm a few times a week if that. it is more of an afternoon "pick me up" or if i have a late night event i will take some to get a boost.
regarding thc, impacts me completely differently. 2 puffs of a joint and i'll be out of my mind.. 2x 5mg gummy is about all i can take before i just get nauseous.
alcohol is better than both imo, but the calories are not. regardless of whatever workout plan or supps i am on i usually have 3-5 beers a week.. but eat generally clean otherwise. (yes, i know thats generally bad)
i do believe i have an addictive personality so i am very careful with all 3 of these substances - out of those 3 kratom is the most addictive in my experience. i have also mixed them before (which i dont recommend if youre new to any of them). i dont think i could ever cut out all 3 completely to be honest. i've just learned to live with it and be mindful about it, and have bloodwork/stats to keep an eye on everything.
I'm guessing I don't have to worry about this but I'm going to say it anyways..don't ever try heroin then. If I find out you do I will personally fly to Connecticut go to every gym to find you and beat the $hit outta you. If it wasn't for that crap I might have actually been able to do something with this whole bodybuilding thing. That's why my coach back in the day was so upset when he found out I relapsed. He was like do you know how many guys will never have what you have naturally and just take for granted and yiur just throwing it all awayYa lol, alcohol is better then both. At the end of the day I traded a really bad habit I couldn't control for a less evil more controlled yet still another habit. Or since I don't make a habit out of it maybe vice is a better word.
It all circles back to what's worth it to you and personal opinion. As bad as alcohol is I wish I could drink responsible because I use to have a lot of fun.
I've tried a lot of things over the years. The 2 absolute hardest ones without a doubt to quit "for me" are alcohol and cigarettes. There the only 2 substances I've ever became addicted or dependent on. But you can buy them legally on every street corner
The 2 most legally and widely accepted substances are responsible for more deaths then every drug, recreational and ped, on the planet combined.
I would literally cut my own dick off before I tried heroin. It's not something I have ever considered in my life. @Mikereyn513, dude, your often talking to me about drugs and addiction. Outside of alcohol I have never had a problem with Recreational drugs. Every single person on this message board is more likely to win the lottery at the same time then I am likely to try a new drug or even use any drug outside of thc. The whole spectrum of drugs where heroin falls is the opposite of what I like to do. I high energy, excitement and feeling good. Every single person I've ever seen do dope was sloped over in there chair or nodding off at work. No thanksI'm guessing I don't have to worry about this but I'm going to say it anyways..don't ever try heroin then. If I find out you do I will personally fly to Connecticut go to every gym to find you and beat the $hit outta you. I have pretty much made a habit out of THC myself. The reason I find it so hard to quit is because:At the end of the day I traded a really bad habit I couldn't control for a less evil more controlled yet still another habit. Or since I don't make a habit out of it maybe vice is a better word.
Not sure if we talked about it before, but if you are in a legal state, you should look into the options available with terpenes that could allow you to cut back on the THC if that were a concern- though it really doesn't need to be. As long as it's working, cool, but if it ever stops or doesn't address the sleep or pain, then it would be worth investigating.I have pretty much made a habit out of THC myself. The reason I find it so hard to quit is because:
1) The benefits of it are great. Makes me feel good and I believe helps with sleep as I have back pain that disrupts my sleep and THC helps me get to sleep and stay asleep longer. Safer than having to deal with taking pain or sleeping meds.
2) The health risks just seem too low to commit to stopping. I only consume THC at night before bed, so it has no negative impact on my life or work. And I don't see many health risks that concern me either. Obviously chronic users who smoke throughout the day would have to re-evaluate that but for my usage I don't see many, if any risks.
I am one of those people who can actually have 1 or 2 beers or cigarettes socially if I want without having to worry about addiction. But THC has been a weakness for me because I have a hard time getting motivated to stop. I just find the reward to outweigh the risk, so I can't find a way to kick it. But at the same time it does kind of bother me that I use it every night because it makes me feel like I'm addicted.
its not the same effect as thc but I really like Apex’s “Relax”. I use it after my workouts and it helps reduce inflammation and soreness (to an extent), and also has a nice calming effect without the high. Phytocaine has been great for specific areas in pain. Not sure if we talked about it before, but if you are in a legal state, you should look into the options available with terpenes that could allow you to cut back on the THC if that were a concern- though it really doesn't need to be.
