Not that makes any shooting ok, but there is a difference. There is a violence problem in the US and guns are used in nearly all of the violent encounters, but look where most of these shootings occur. St Louis, Baltimore, Washington DC, Detroit, Birmingham, Dayton, Baton Rouge and New Orleans. There’s a commonality in these cities….a high population of minorities and ran by democrats for nearly 40 years or more. In no way I’m saying that all minorities are violent, but I truly feel the Democratic Party want to keep minorities in the projects to ensure their votes. With the new bond reforms in nearly all states, we see more repeat offenses while people are out of jail. I see it daily in my area. The county I work in, in NC, has a population of nearly 379,000. The largest city has a population of nearly 246,000. Gangs are running rampant and shooting are happening in almost a daily basis. Last year was a historical record for homicides and this year is on track to beat it. Officers in the city are almost forced not to be proactive in enforcement and are severely criticized on justified uses of force. Unfortunately people need to go to jail. People need to be sentenced to prison and sometimes those sentences need to be long. Banning guns in the US will only allow the criminals to further their terror. Drugs are illegal but they still get into the US and sold. Guns will be the same way. The mental health situation also needs to be looked at. Some people can’t function in society and will not stay on meds. It’s sad to say but they need to be locked away too.

Tougher on crimes and a functioning mental health system (pretty tough ATM because mental health issues are a dime a dozen). Nothing worse than locking someone up only for a judge to let them out the next day.

First off, "mass shootings" account for less than 1% of gun deaths in the US. Suicides account for most gun deaths in the US, so if people want at it and dont want help, no business of my consequence. And gun suicides only account of half of all of suicides in the US. Here, many people are a sick, over prescribed on meds without addressing root issues, and our culture is deteriorating. Liberal social policies have also caused many socio-economic issues including extreme green energy policies that are making things worse for both mental health and contributing to suicide. There are about 50,000 suicides every year here.

School shootings, which is your concern would only be solved (and never completely) by changing culture, both in society as we have a new breed of sick sissy asses without girlfriends who commit public suicides with these shootings and also changing the gun culture and making America pro-gun again, and not conditioning people to be helpless pansy asses scared of guns and being utterly helpless when shyt hits the fan in so called safe "gun free" school zones. And it also helps when police show up they do their job instead of hiding in the back of the hall way worrying about germs and getting busy with the hand sanitizer dispenser (Uvalde.)

Most other mass shootings occur with gang violence, and criminals who obtain illegal guns on the black market which is impossible to get rid of here. It would help if we actually enforced crime and punished criminals, but here in NY we had bail reform where criminals are let go for nothing back onto the street only to get caught over and over again, but if a law abiding gun owner defends his life, they make the criminal the victim and the government does all in their power to destroy the lives of good people.

Its made by advantage arms, they make them for various glocks and 1911s, a couple of others. They arent cheap at $300, at the end of the day ammo is really expensive in the long run. I debated getting a Ruger Marksmen IV as is a better pistol to try out Sporter Pistol but I really wanted more practice with my Glock....but legal full conceal carry owners cant even carry it anywhere due to the new NY law so wtf is the point now? We have alot of lawsuits coming along the way, and Im donating a tiny bit a money to them.

You do need select 22lr though, they have a list. Some brands work best with 40 grain, sub or hypersonic is a no-no.

In America young people don’t like to work and have horrendous time preference. Democracy actually brings on poor levels of time preference, but that is something that is hard to flesh out in a small package.

That’s why I think it’s culture. When I think about modernity and how meaningless it makes peoples lives I’m not at all shocked when we see so many statistics that things are not right for so many people.

I am not sure the fix but I think it may take a generation or two to get us out of this, so my focus is raising good principled kids that have meaningful lives. Just gotta do that times 3 no pressure haha

Depends on what state you live in.

Here in NY its been for many years you get a background check and you walk right out with a semi-automatic rifle. The only thing with New York State, AR's has been we had to have certain features missing such as 10 round mag limit, non- threaded barrel, and you couldnt have a combination of stupid shyt such as pistol grip plus removable mag, but the easy trick was either have a custom non-pistol grip stock or you have a pinned magazine.

So NY AR's would look like this if you want a detachable magazine

Some states have crazy laws as far as waiting periods. I live in NC, so you can go in a gun store, fill out your paperwork, they call NICS and if you clear the records check you walk out with the AR the same day. Not sure how it is in the state he was in. But it’s still odd it was such an expensive AR.
