Price of creatine?

Maybe I am just living under a rock, or lucky because I had a ton of the stuff stocked up and just have not been paying attention, but since when was creatine so damn expensive?

$20 for 250grams? I remember when Creapure was like $25 for 1000 grams.

Is this how it's going to be from now on? Good thing I stocked up when the stuff was cheap.
 
Yep, prices went up. But you can still get the Walmart brand creatine monohydrate for $10/450gm

Couple other brands are $20/500gm

I never realized till i saw Jim Stoppani trying to justify the $65 price tag for his new PreJym X. He claims the price of everything is up, but $3.25 a serving?

All he did was add 180mg of pine bark, increase the creatine and CM by 2 grams and toss in some NO3-T. He also removed the NAC. He also did toss in some Theacrine and Dynamine. Maybe those 2 are expensive enough to warrant the price.

his prices are always insane .. but overall yeah do see an increase in prices of everything from creatine to protein

if u dont feel it now .. you will i believe in few months will get worst .. always encourage people to stock up on your fav products .. im locked and loaded for next couple years lol
 
The crazy thing is as prices soar and there is supposed supply chain issues, I've seen on Stack3d, 4 companies this week alone put out a creatine product. If its so hard to get why are all these companies coming out with it. Im sure there is a reason but it seems like a gouge a little bit.

i feel co always had creatine/other stuff saved up ..esp these big co's

as to why come out now .. supply & demand they know cant get it anywhere else ..or small co can still buy it but to move it at the price to break even/make profit is very hard

Back in 2018, a online seller was clearing out 500gm tubs of plain old creatine monohydrate for $5, so I picked up 6. I have only gotten through 1 and half so far, but the stuff says" best by 2020." Creatine doesnt really expire right? As long as you store it properly , it should be fine for a few more years I'd imagine.

no you should be good .. yeah i stocked up on allmax german creatine mono ..keep it stored in cupboard i think you should be good .. ive never had any issues w/ expiry stuff

yes, you've been living under a rock - there are countless article and threads discussing material shortages and huge spikes in prices for raws. All those hundreds of container ships sitting offshore waiting for months to unload their goods have not been helping cure material shortage issues.

we don't make a creatine product, but I considered it when I had a supplier let me know they had a shipment arrive...until I saw their price. The price they quoted me for a metric ton of creatine was still above what most of you would consider a decent retail price...before profit, shipping/logistics, packaging, manufacturing, testing, labels, marketing costs, warehousing, etc.

We saw creatine jump over 1000% in cost. Citrulline is even worse! Tons of brands are removing these two components from pre workouts/etc...some are even removing beta alanine because of increased costs.

Our next round of All Out Ultra and All Out Sweat is 8 Months late - we put 50% of the product cost down as a deposit nearly a year ago. I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason for the delay has more to do with the cost of material than shortages...they have to make it for the price on the PO. If they screwed up and didn't order material promptly, maybe they thought prices would come down, then they're upside down on the cost of making our batches.
 
The cheapest I can find is on True Protein. They are selling 500 grams creatine mono for $28.
 
Sucks, but I’ll probably just go without when my current tub runs out. It’s helpful and does some great things at a micro level (learning, neuroprotective, obviously strength & promotion of muscle-building), but a big part of its obvious use-case is predicated on the previous affordability.

There’s a lot of compounds I don’t bother with because their net effect isn’t in line with the overall cost to implement.
 
You know, I've heard some people are taking beta ecdysterone powder as a creatine replacement.
 
When we would buy creatine in 2019, early 2020 it was like $3-$4/kg when you buy 1,000lbs at a time or more.

It now costs $30++ per kg when buying 1,000lbs or more.

Don't even ask about citrulline.....

So yes that's a big rock you have been under. :)

Ive got a bottle of 10 year old Kre-Alklyn lol. Wonder if that is cutting it a bit close?

haha did that stuff work for you back in the day ?

man i havent taken kre-alk in prolly 14-15years .. i thought it was okay back in the day but maybe it was the roids working in younger days lol
 
We know that creatine converts to creatinine when getting older. Creatine Monohydrate is the most stabil of these so a couple of years past date should still be fine.

To be honest, I could not tell a difference between it and plain old creatine monohydrate. I was fully saturated when i was taking it. It was cheap as hell as BB.com was selling the bottles for like $4.

As far as I can tell, all Kre-Alk comes from the same place. Companies just pay them for the caps and right to sell it.

yeah mono is fan fav .. i do love HCL + MCC stack is awesome

wish promera HCL was cheap since SNS has been out of stock and will be a while

yeah kre-alk is patented by EFX i believe and they are the source to go through if other co wants to put it in their products.

I remember people were saying it was just creatine monohydrate with baking soda. if that's the case, couldn't we just make our own blend.

I still think creatine gluconate was the overall best. I still have an old ass tub from NP. May have to crack it open and see if it still is alright.

I see, thank you for the info. Is creatinine overall bad for the body? All creatine converts to it eventually right? Would it tax the kidneys?

My GP says creatine is perfectly safe for people with healthy kidney function, but I wonder if taking a degraded creatine would cause any negative effects.
