Bloodwork midcycle

Whenever I get my trt bloodwork I wait 5-7 days after my last workout and stay away from the weights for a more accurate result. I'm currently mid cycle on test and dhb and wanted to know how the HCT mainly is looking. It's hard to take time away from the gym to get this done. Do I have to wait or could I get accurate results for HCT at least and not wait?

I've never took time away from the gym for any bloodwork at all. I really doubt 5 - 7 days off would effect hematocrit levels too much. Even with test levels I don't see a reason to take off. Our levels are going to fluctuate daily and even by time of day anyways. Not that time off is bad. I'd just listen to your body and take the time off when you feel it will help.

Cool. I had a feeling it would not matter for RBC/HCT. Moreso liver values and maybe kidneys it would. Thx for the reply

I've never waited. Hct levels will be raised in anyone who lifts, though not to dangerous levels unless you have an illness, and honestly you should want your blood work to reflect your daily life anyways. Otherwise it would be inaccurate

Yea regardless of a break or not if your RBC/HCT is starting to creep up best bet is to go ahead an do your blood donation. If RBC gets too high you risk getting turned away after the finger prick. Happened to me once.

It was at 51 before I started and I do daily cardio, sometimes twice a day, and stay really hydrated.

I've got elevated hct currently and am experimenting with naringin, 2500mg daily (grapefruit flavonoid) to lower it. Donating is "meh" and in order to actually lower hct consistently you have to give blood so frequently it becomes dangerous lol. I'll know some time next month if it's working for me

Cool I've never heard of that. Thanks for sharing and would defiantly love to hear how it treats you. Maybe I'm lucky but donating brings mine down a lot and it doesn't creep back up over the standard range for a good 5 months. So far I've been able to donate only twice a year and stay in pretty good shape. Of course we are all a little different and what works well for some doesn't all ways go the same for others. Good luck on the naringin. I might do a little research on that.

On the recent drugs and stuff podcast Dave Crossland said that he doesn't see blood thickening in guys who do lots of cardio. I had upped the cardio before the cycle and now I'm curious to see if what he says may be true.
