Advice on Lab test

Can someone take a look at my recent Test labs and give me some ideas of where I'm at. Doc says it looks fine except my free Test but I feel that's what I need the most.

How old are you, I'm 36 and I would not be satisfied with those numbers "if" I wasn't feeling up to par, if those were my numbers and everything felt great I'd be okay with it, I'd still probably look into supplemental boron, 6mg 2x per day in a attempt to raise free testosterone, if I wasn't working out regularly and eating healthy then I would address those first.

I'm 59 and I'm not satisfied with those numbers but you know what the "adverage" Doctor says - they are within range. He doesn't think I need anything to help boost my levels.

OP, if you are feeling good, and those are natty numbers, I probably wouldn't do anything except what has already been mentioned re: Boron. This assumes that you are not on TRT, I would be kind of disappointed in those numbers in that case. But if natural and at 60? Man, that's a great place to start!

Have you checked DHT, estradiol sensitive, and TSH? I generally like to see them, too, to get a better picture overall.

At 59 it's definitely going to be a challenge convincing a doctor with those numbers, if you try the things I mentioned above, those will help. Boron works better for some ppl then others but it raises free testosterone levels in just about everyone to some degree

Those are important as well. Some doctors don't check estrogen levels in men, OP, if you have one of those doctors you need to get a new one.

You could also try telling your Dr. Your not satisfied with how you feel and you would like to be referred to a endocrinologist.

Or pull them yourself if you like your doc otherwise. Tons of sites to order them on your own, always look for discount codes.

It is STUNNING how many docs miss the boat on blood work. The best treat symptoms, not numbers...

Or, I'm just saying, if all else fails, lol

On your next appointment for bloodwork, eat crappy and screw up your sleep schedule the week before you go, I don't personally drink alcohol but if you do, tie one on the night before bloodwork and your levels should drop dramatically from all that.

All jokes aside, this is why one round of blood work isn't really reflective of your hormones. There's a lot of variables and they fluctuate very often.

Thanks for the replies. I am not on TRT and yes, I have one of those Dr's that won't do estrogen checks on men. I think I'm going to try Boron at 6mgs twice daily like suggested. Which brand would you suggest? All in all I don't feel to sluggish or wore down so I guess all is well.

I use the now foods brand, but there are quite a few board sponsored supps that contain boron, as well as some other quality ingredients, so those might be worth taking a look at if you want to get more than just boron.

@sns8778 can give you more info and answer questions about specific ingredients that may help you achieve your goals.

Thanks for tagging me in the post. I don't normally post or check in this sub-forum.

@young4life I'm not sure if you're familiar with me or my posts. I handle research and development, formulation, and oversee quality control operations for quite a few different brands so that's likely why @match tagged me in this thread. But another reason is likely because I have a very rare endocrinological condition that negatively affects many of my hormone levels. It's very complex and I won't go into detail here and derail your thread here; but mine is so unique (in a bad way) that I've been included in several studies bc of it. So I'm very familiar with free testosterone levels and how different things may affect them.

As far as your levels in general, I agree that everything looks good except the percentage of free test is a little low. They're actually very good for your age so congratulations on that part.

It is hard to get a full picture of things when a doctor won't do some of the other testing like estradiol, luteinizing hormone, prolactin, etc. If you are able to convince them to or find another doctor that will, one thing I would suggest along with the other suggestions in this thread would be to have them do a full thyroid panel including reverse T3, which is commonly left off. That's if you choose to go that route - I think that's more of a choice than a need because overall your levels are great to be your age and especially if you feel good.

If you want to discuss this off the forums, you're welcome to pm me and I'll be glad to give you my contact information. I've been thru years of complication and grief with my condition myself and am glad to use my experiences to help anyone in any way that I can.

The mention of Boron in the thread is a good one if a good quality type is used. In my case, I've spoken openly about M-Test being the most effective thing I've ever used to help with my free testosterone levels and it has Boron in there, along with a lot of other things. I've used it daily for several years and what led me to that was I have a history of really skewed hormone levels and we had struggled to get my free testosterone levels up even when we could get my total testosterone levels into a good range. I had used M-Test but had started back on it because I always felt it helped me feel better and helped with my libido. I had bloodwork done about 3 months into and it was the first time in years that my free testosterone levels were in a good range. My endocrinologist asked me what I was taking and I was honest with him - he's not a very pro-supplement doctor. So what we did is had me come off and redid bloodwork in a month and my levels were back down to where they had been which were super low. He then had me start back and did bloodwork at the 1 month, 2 month, and 3 month marks and all of the bloodwork showed a continuous increase in my free testosterone levels. That's what led me to it being a daily use supplement for me.

There was someone in a thread the other day that posted his own bloodwork results. He is 45 and said that M-Test had helped his free testosterone levels go from 0.204nmol to 0.375nmol.

Thanx for the very helpful info sns8778. I tried M-Test about 3 years ago and it killed what little libido I had so I haven't tried it again. I want to add that I was using Anabolic Effect at the time of my bloodwork so IDK if that had an effect on my numbers or not.

Anabolic Effect has some ingredients that can boost natural testosterone levels so it's possibly that it was helping raise them some if you were on it when you had the bloodwork.

As far as M-Test, most people including myself experience a definite increase in libido from it but I probably make the statement more than anyone else on here that different things works different for different people. From a scientific perspective, I can see how it may not increase it but can't see how it would decrease it; so its always possible that you may respond differently if you tried it again. BUT since it didn't give you the results that you were looking for in the past, you may would want to consider going more the direction of Optimize-T. Optimize-T is formulated completely differently than M-Test but it does still have Boron in there plus a lot more. Here's a link to the thread on it if you want to read up on the ingredients and feedback:

M test kills my libido as well. I’m currently using optimize T which I’m seeing a noticeable boost from.
