Injected rubber from vial top.

Long-Time lurker here, I just noticed In my vial little rubber pieces floating in the oil from the rubber vial top piece. Noticed right after I did my injection which scares me because I may have been injecting rubber in my glutes and shoulders. I drew some oil out and made sure rubber was in their and then put on 23g needle which I used to inject with and injected it into an empty vial and the rubber pieces did indeed go through which means some very well could be inside me. There very tiny and nearly impossible to see in the vial without shining my phone light into the vial and looking hard.

Looked all over the internet and could barley find anything about this. I really came across two answers. Some people say this happens to them all the time and it’s no big deal, while some people say it caused massive abscesses that had to get drained and taken antibiotics. So I don’t know what to think.

Todays Monday, just did my injection. My last injection was Thursday which was a delt injection. No pain or swelling or anything from that injection so I’m sure something would have happened by now. I guess I will play the waiting game with today’s injection.

rubber in a blood vessel sounds bad. can you use a smaller needle that they don't fit through maybe?

Only a few CCs left so just going to discard it and crack open a new one. Been drawing with 18g and that seems to really shred up the rubber stopper. Going to pick up some 22s.

To be honest with you there’s no way I could be the only one who’s accidentally been doing this. The only reason I even noticed the rubber was because I thought my Test was looking a little yellowish and maybe a tad bit of Tren got in their from drawing them together and I shined the phone light in the vial in a dark room and that’s when I noticed.

I stopped drawing with 18g for that reason. I’m fairly certain I have injected a piece of stopper at some point myself as I have seen those floaters following a shot. Needless to say I dumped the remaining vial for a fresh one and began using 20g for drawing.

I might give it a try again, then. It’s been a while.
I used to use 5cc syringes when I was injecting a few things at once. I didn't typically fill it more than 3ccs but I found the larger syringes pull harder through the slightly narrower needle.

That’s a good tip. Pun not intended. Better vacuum.

Wait it out. My guess is you'll be okay, but WATCH IT. If in a weak , no weird pain, itching, swelling, redness, heat, etc, I'd say you're fine and the body was able to deal with it. If you notice any or all of those symptoms, I'd probably do a course of antibiotics and see a doctor as this is a lot different than bacteria build up. A foreign substance could be a problem, but you'd be surprised at how well the human body can do. Keep us updated

I stabbed a kid in the hand with a pencil in grade school and you can still see the chunk of graphite to this day...

The point is you might be fine.

I've always wondered about this. I draw with a 18 and then a 25.
Was the vial old?
I mean think of how many times you hit a 10cc vial.
Good luck bro

Yeah I switched from 18s to 21s for drawing for this reason. Never noticed any rubber ever, but heard the stories and 21g draws well enough IMO.

18 is a damn harpoon - I mean just look at that thing. It will literally core whatever you are sticking it into.

18g is literally what Cro uses to drain his own blood when hct is high.

I haven't used anything larger than 26g, neitherfor drawing or pinning since first cycle in 2019.

My friend had a accident with glass years ago, cut his hand up, 5 years later this black dot appeared on his palm, it got bigger and turned into a lump like a large blood blister over a couple weeks and a bit of picking at it this cm2 piece of glass eventually emerged from the wound. Its crazy how your body can deal with foreign objects

Right? My sister has a tiny rock in her hand from when she fell on asphalt 30 years ago.

I had a patient once that had a 30g insulin needle break off in her when she administered her insulin. They just sent her home and said no big deal-come back if it becomes symptomatic.

I’ve noticed some rubber stoppers on some UGL vials will shred up pretty bad while some vials don’t. I’ve noticed rubber in a vial before. Don’t think I’ve ever actually injected any, I always give the oil in the syringe a solid look before pinning. I now draw with 23s, pull the syringe back to the amount of oil your injecting and inject that air into the vial and the oil will come out much faster.

Think about it. How do nurses and paramedics pull up drugs? The same way a gym rat pulls up gear. There is no way to know how many patients have been administered drugs that we're drawn up with an 18g and then injected mostly IV.

Oh gawwwd no, the anxiety i would have knowing that bit off needle was in me, i think I'd have to be put in a straight jacket or I'd be at it with a scalpel, when i just get something in my eye I'm the biggest cry baby ever

More reason for you guys to buy a SMART DEVICE - Needle Free Valve Vial Access from my store.

Not only does it save you from ripping up the rubber and injecting it, it saves you a fresh needle tip. Plug this on your vial and then you can literally screw on a syringe, draw effortlessly and fast and then apply a fresh needle.

You can re-use this device on multiple vials so long as you clean it with alcohol inside and out.

Just wanted to let y’all know everything is all good! Been 12 hours shy of a week now so I’m not worried, plus that vial has been retired and will now draw with a much smaller needle!

Thanks everyone for chiming in!

You can send most liquids through a 30g so fill a syringe as you usually would then take out the plunger use a 18g filter needle the switch them once you have drawn from the other syringe
