Pinning issue

I have seen this question a hundred times and now I’m asking. About 30 minutes ago I was giving myself an injection in my thigh , when I pulled the needle out blood shot out, it lasted about half a second until I put pressure on it , then it immediately stopped. I always bleed a little after an injection but this is the 1st time it shot out. I feel the same nothing different so far. Any advice? Should I do something?
 
Sometimes it be like that 🙏 I painted the walls a few times! Shouldn’t happen very often tho! If you become experienced and keep insisting on hitting into spots where you have and can feel scar tissue then it might be more problematic
 
what size needle are you using? tyr a smaller needle and it will bleed less. you can lose a lot of gear if you use bigger than 25 gauge

I would think most of our injecting techniques are so "rough" (shaky unsteady hands, syringe/needle movement, etc) aspiration would become almost redundant.

The amount of gear that gets lost in the needle is Minuscule, even with a 21g your loosing less then 0.1ml.

Also the bleeding he is talking about is from nicking a vein. Well a smaller needle might be less likely to Nick a vein, the hole left from the needle isn't going to make much of a difference. When you pull that pin out the flesh around it squeezes right back closed.

I pinned my entire first cycle with a 21g 1.5in

Now I use mostly slin pins and some 25g 1/2 for glutes.

The only difference I feel like is the intimidation factor of looking at the size of the pin
 
Also to op, thighs are tricky, there's so many spots you can screw up and hit something. Glutes and delts are much more forgiving. Pecs with a 28g slin pin is pretty smooth. Just make sure you're lean enough to use slin pins we are going to get some weird lumps between the muscle and the skin on your chest, same for delts. Another thing I find helpful the smaller more frequent injections, less then 1ml per shot.
 
LOL. The idea that when you remove the needle and are left with a gaping tunnel from which your gear may easily come right back out is some serious bro-lore (and I say this as someone who for a few years used nothing but 22 and occasionally 21 gauge needles, *cringe*). Sometimes a vein/capillary close to the surface gets nicked and you bleed a bit or get a little spurt from the release of pressure against the skin of the syringe hub. No biggie, no worries. Sure, an absolutely minute amount of oil may be among the blood but rest assured it's inconsequential. But hey, if you're that worried about it go ahead and fill up another syringe and double up on that dose! More gainz to be had in the coming days, ya' know?

Not to go off on a tangent but as far as aspirating goes hey, if it makes you feel safer and more at ease, go for it. Opinions vary from one bro or medical professional to the next, and I don't view it as absolute "right" or "wrong". I've never once bothered to aspirate and I'd fo sho be dead or suffered some other unfortunate malady were aspiration a necessity for a successful IM or subQ injection. But.....................YMMV. 🙂

Hey.. haven’t used an alcohol swab in a year on my skin. As long as it’s a new needle and the bottle is clean I feel safe :)

I have a friend who said when he pinned test into a blood vessel it "knocked him on his ass" and had to lay down for a while. not sure exactly which compound, but it's from a trt clinic prescription

Me either, but I always pin after I get out the shower.

When I get a new vial I open it, swab with alcohol and put it in a Ziploc after every use.

Then I shower, pin and put it back in the ziplock.

I draw and inject with the same pin 90% of the time.

When injecting sub q if it's more then 0.4ml I inject half, pull out the pin stick in a new location and inject the rest.

I'm not saying my ways are correct. But I've been doing all these things for years and never had a problem. Now given I haven't run any major doses where I'm injecting 3 CC's or something like that. My cycles are usually 2-3ml total per week and my cruise is usually about 1/2ml of test. So these practices are easier for me to do than someone who's injecting large volumes.

But before this year is over I'm going to dedicate a couple months to pushing some legit doses and seeing what I can do. If I go back to 21-23g pins for that I would definitely be swapping needles between drawing and injecting. I just feel like the bigger pins need to be sharper lol

I'm not reusing a old needle, I'm pulling out a slin pin, moving it over a quarter in and re inserting. And it feels exactly the same as the first stab. Cost is of no issue to me it's convince and I know guys that been doing it for a decade or longer with no problems.

Again, I'm not saying my way is correct, I'm not advising anyone else to do it. I'm just telling how I do it, that's how I find it to be the fastest most convenient way to pin a larger then 1/2 cc sub q.

I have 200 slin pins, 100 25g pins, 100 21g pins. Needles and cost are irrelevant to me. It's purely the way I find it most convenient

I didn't do it when I first started as I didn't want another step to worry about. After I got used to pinning I started aspirating since it only takes a second. I figured it was outdated as I've never had a health care professional do it on any shots I've received but figured it couldn't hurt. Went over a year without getting anything then about about a month ago pulled back and got pure dark red blood. The blood stayed floating at the top so I just pushed it out into the sink and injected into a new spot. I suppose most likely I would have blown the vein if I had of injected there but that day I was glad I aspirated. I suppose I'll continue to do so since it's part of my habit. Just sharing an experience my brothers of the iron.

I haven’t used an alcohol prep in at least six years. I stopped when I saw a friend of mine that’s a type 1 diabetic pin insulin through his uniform shirt….yes I said through his shirt. He didn’t even roll his sleeve up. Said he’s been doing it everyday for years! Never had and issue. As far as aspiration, I do it out of habit.

when I don't alcohol I get more noticable red spots at the injection sites
 
This thread kinda makes me wish we had a ‘sticky thread’ on how appropriate injection protocol should be in terms of hygiene/swabbing etc. I think a lot of guys (myself concluded) would benefit from it and help maintain cleanliness and correct injection protocol

Haha I assume that’s sarcasm? if it not... no I wasn’t. I don’t even swab the vile and realise it’s important and I think these things go a miss and those new to all of this would benefit from a “how to” type guide on it all

I think swabbing the vial is pretty harmless, but technically it could be kept clean between doses. swabbing your skin could dry it out I guess, but I do it anyways because I got red marks when I didnt. I have individual wrapped alcohol pads and it's under $10 for 400 of them on amazon
