Help!!

So I have been a member of a gym for some time. I need tips to help me get motivated into going back. I like being at the gym I like how I feel after the gym. I get up everyday with every intention of going to the gym even wearing workout gear. But I still can't seem to leave the house to go.

Surely I'm not the only like this. Any tips to get out the house

As obvious as it seems, I get everything ready the night before and then when it comes time to going I just literally get up and get ready then go... do not stop to think if you "feel" like it, just go. That second of doubt will stop you most of the time, so dont think ahha.

If I am going to gym after work, I do not sit down when I get home, otherwise I wont go. (that being said I havent been in ages because of lockdown bs)

Go look in the mirror, are you satisfied? If not then that's your motivation. Most people go to the gym because they enjoy doing it, and you don't need to get motivated to do something you enjoy. So ultimately you need to learn to like it or your going to spend forever looking for a form of motivation that probably doesn't exist

Are you trying to go later in the day? Maybe try first thing in the morning. I started that years ago. Makes it much harder to come up with excuses when you haven’t done anything yet.

AM workouts might help, it's just the first thing you do everyday, stay on your routine!

If your a morning person and sleep good then morning workouts are the way to go. When it use to work with my schedule it was extremely productive to start my day at the gym. Now I'm stuck working out at 830pm and it definitely is a lot easier to find excuses after a long day. The only upside is the gyms usually empty

You have to set goals and then work towards them. This will aid in motivation.

That's it in a nutshell, your goals, your image you want to portray or see in the mirror. That has to be your driving motivation.

If your goals don't motivate you then nothing else will. If you want something, you gotta go get it.

I must look myself in the mirror at least twice a week and say stop being a bitch it's time to go to the gym.

Going to work everyday should be 10x harder then going to the gym, work is 8+ hours long and I know most ppl don't "love" there job but they do it because it needs to be done.

The gym is 1 hour a day for most ppl, even if you win every single day that's only 7 hours, it's less than one day of work.

Love this advice. Here's two lines I used that have motivated a few people:
If you want it bad enough, you'll make it happen.
You're only cheating yourself.

Here's a few things I enjoy about exercising. It gets my head right for the day otherwise I kinda feel like crap the rest of the day. I always workout sometime before 12:30. I enjoy the energy rush from my preworkout. I enjoy the endorphin kick i get at the end of the workout, high on life feeling. I get a libido kick from pumping some iron. Being fit helps you tackle other things in life. Also you can think of it as playing the long game. Your overall health is going to be better. I know people in their 40s that look and feel like **** and are already on prescription meds all because they arent taking care of their bodies. And as Arnold said the pump is better than cumming ;)

I could go on and on.

Another thing. Exercising is literally the fountain of youth. You'll look and feel younger as you get older. My dad is 68 and still doing triathlons. He's out there kicking ass while others his age are on the couch and cant move or 6 feet under.

I'm gonna suggest setting up a home gym if you can afford it. you could even set up something simple and still go the gym some days

Purchase an audiobook that you commit to listening to only at the gym. Studies have shown that just being able to listen to audiobooks while exercising motivates people to go to the gym more often. Choose an audiobook that you are very interested in listening to so that it actually motivates you.
