None of this was done by mistake. None of this was done by default. None of this was done without fully and completely anticipating the reactions, results and consequences.
All of this was done intentionally and by design.
Once we all accept this (and many have), we can stop pointing out that they do not know what they are doing, and replace that well-intended but faulty conclusion with reality: That they know exactly what they are doing.

It's crazy to me how worked up people got when NZ went into lockdown, then it hit me.
We get paid our full wages for staying home. We have guaranteed sick days and annual leave. If we get ANY flu symptoms we are paid to get a covid test and isolate.
You guys got paid $600 once.

Millions of people were and still are being paid more to stay home through expanded unemployment checks in addition to over 2k in stimulus checks. Also If you caught COVID you did qualify for unemployment and more than likely for many got paid more to stay home than the salary. There is a reason businesses can’t find workers these days.
Small business hurt the most when they deemed them unessential but considered big mega chains essential…unemployment simply couldn’t cover costs with rent and other things.
There were assistive programs to help many small business though, not all was bad for everybody as some were able to utilize smaller interest loans with forgiveness (PPP program.)
So the ones that are hurt are pissed, and also this is political as trampling on our constitutional rights os no laughing matter either and will have long term consequences moving forward. That does finally end on September though unless they extend it again.
Until people stop voting for big government corrupt Republicrat and Demican politicians nothing will change and we will continue to be screwed moving forward.

It almost doesn’t even feel like reality though. It’s so inconceivably horrid that it’s truly depressing for me, and I already have depression issues. I can’t even imagine what else we will have to endure in the next 3+ years as the integrity of our country is further compromised. It’s already lost at this point..

So one of our China virus patients in his 40’s decided this morning that he had enough of being in the hospital after 1.5 weeks. He was still on a few liters of oxygen but was adamant about leaving against medical advice. He was also still in isolation as he had not reached 20 days of symptom onset yet.
So for whatever reason, there was nobody available to pick him up. So he said that he was going to arrange for a taxi when he got down to the lobby. We aren’t allowed to keep people against their will, nor do we want to- GTFO! The problem was it would be a HIPPA violation to attempt to notify the taxi driver or the company that they were picking up a known positive patient. Not to mention walking through the hospital and going down to the lobby as a known positive. Anyway, he left..
A similar situation happened a few months ago, but the dude was beyond the 20 day isolation window so it was less complicated, yet he was still on a bit of oxygen as well. He was brought back to the ED at our sister hospital 2 weeks later but it was too late and he died.
In other news, we still have 10 total positives but a few are new. Still, 8 are unvaccinated and 2 are vaccinated. One of the vaccinated patients just came in today due to chest pain which she has a history of regardless. She just happened to test positive with routine admission testing. Still just one positive pt on a ventilator who is unvaccinated.
Oh, and I came back negative again today. Also the girl in my department who was very upset about the vaccine mandate got her first Moderna dose 2 days ago and is doing well emotionally and physically.

Today I got paid to take my dogs for a walk to the beach. Sat outside in the sun. Took a few beers and just listened to music.

Ammunition exports to the United States are only a small percentage of the GDP of the Russian Federation, but Russian origin ammo makes up a large part of the American ammunition supply. American gun owners were already suffering from a market where demand was exceeding available supply. This new move by the Biden Administration will severely worsen the present supply problems.
