Soreness

Back in the gym after years of slacking. Problem is, every time I go, I push myself like I used to. I walk out feeling like my muscles have turned into over inflated balloons and then spend the next 3 days in pain every time I try to use a muscle I exercised. It's making me not want to go to the gym because I know I am just going to wreck my next 3 days again...lol. Should I try to take it more slowly or is there a good supplement or something I can take or a diet change to make that can fix it? I do stretch and such before and after but It just ain't happening... If you want to just call me a pussy bitch that needs to suck it up, that's ok too... I can take it... lmao
 
Too much volume, too soon…

Run a simple fully body 5x5 or something and force yourself to keep a log book while you train, so you don’t stray from the program.

A few weeks to a month, and you shouldn’t be getting the doms much, if at all…

May not be as fun but it’ll get your body back used to it all.

(This is what I should have done, when gyms opened back up last summer…My soreness was absolute brutal…)
 
It’s super subjective but if you are wrecked and unable to function or repeat efforts next time around scale back a hair and work up, but like if it’s just sore but you are good in a few days and can function at work I just kinda deal with it.
