as a former cop you know some neighborhoods are by nature going to be safer/friendlier to cops than others and cops are going to react differently in those neighborhoods-good gracious are you dumb today or what?

I literally responded, with evidence, that they in fact do.

If you police aggressively in one neighbourhood over another, then people will retaliate. What you end up creating is an environment where police are hated AND where the police hate the neighbourhood so both mistreat each other.

You are missing the point entirely.

i go by my personal experience and i have been told by several cops that most of the time they won't even waste their time on the parework to even give a ticket for simple possesion of pot---i have never been arrested for pot-and unless you personally have been arrested for pot here in the US you can't say for certain it happens now can you?...all that you touch and all that you see is all your life will ever be---

I think you may be under the impression that I dont think minorities are capable of committing crime. I'm definitely not.

My argument is that systemic racism exists everywhere and that people should be treated equally under law. The data shows that prison sentences tend to be longer for minorities etc.

If everything else is equal, the outcome should be equal. That will never happen because humans are inherently biased about a lot of things, but that's the idea.

For example: I know women who get ripped off at mechanics because the assumption is they know nothing about cars.

People always take advantage when they believe they can without repercussion. It happens. But in some cases the outcomes are far more skewed than they should be.

This is the thing, you and everyone else in this thread may treat each other equally, but you can't speak for the experiences of every single other person in your town, city or country.

People try speak up about injustices they face, only to have people like you tell them those issues aren't real and they are just liberals.

To discredit their experience because you cant relate to it is the very essence of why progress is so slow.
