Donald Trump running for president

My top 10 list admittedly is not based on technical skills or music theory. It’s based on the guitarists that speak to me and sound good to my ear while still playing somewhat challenging music. After all as a guitar player it is very fun to jam along with your favorite songs, not listening to someone shred away and not being able to come close.

Someone special should be able to make memorable music that you can’t get out of your head. Angus Young for instance. Anyone with 2 years of guitar playing experience can play an AC/DC song. But the guy is legendary and created some of the best riffs the planet will ever see.

There are some online personalities that I truly enjoy watching like Steve Stine and Bernth.

I hear ya. One thing - you can be surprised at what you can do with some minimal practice. It is also funny to me how so many people can play the same instrument so differently. I can play people like Joe Satriani pretty well because I learned a lot of his stuff and it is how I personally learned to play. But then there are so many guys who just have a different view or interpretation of how the darned thing works and they are really hard for me.

AC/DC us also awesome.

And don't get me wrong, there is a difference between who I would spend my time listening to and who I see as "the best". Like I said, I can take Vai in limited doses and my jaw drops and it may even motivate me to try something new (and fail) - but I will blast AC/DC or GNR or REO, or whatever with the rest of you guys.

It is so hard to really say "best" as well because there are such different interpretations of the instrument. I mean, nobody does Slash better than Slash and nobody does Sinister Gates better than Sinister Gates.

The only other thing, they have done research and they have found that people "like" music based on their familiarity with it. This is the reason why 1 guy has written almost all of the stuff that is on the radio in the last 20 years, rather than take a chance on something new when promoting a record, they just go to the guy that writes the same stuff over and over and is tried and true and have a new band play it. But on the other hand, listening to guys like Vai or Gilbert or Satch really grows on you once you give it some time.

I highly recommend spending time listening to Joe Satriani, he is very accessible and taught a lot of the guitarists you seem to like:

Great points. For example, Dream Theater, as previously mentioned, are phenomenal musicians, but I just can’t listen to them for that long. Similarly, bands like Nile are stellar musicians, but it’s not my cup of tea when it comes to extreme metal. I would much prefer the beauty in Omnium Gatherum, Dark Tranquility or my new favorite, Countless Skies (song: Tempest...just wow).

Then you have Angus Young...who has done more with the same 3 chords than any would’ve thought possible, and still are amazing.

Off topic.... @thebigt

How much Phenibut do you use to relax? And is it habit forming?

Definitely some great guitar players in this thread, but I’m really partial to Downing/Tipton. Not because I believe they are the best or even top 10, but what they could do, I love it. Then, add the screams of Halford over top...? He said it best...you got another thing comin’.
you want screaming...my favorite priest song is a oldie-VICTIM OF CHANGES...bet old rob couldn't hit those notes today-eh?

2gm is my sweet spot...2-3 times a week and it's all good, any more than that and tolerance will go up and higher doses will be needed and the habit begins to form.

i actually try to limit to twice a week and only occasionally will use 3x in a week.

Does it give you like an alcohol type buzz? Or what is the feeling?

nah, for me it's more of a head buzz, kinda like 15mg valium--i never drank to get buzzed, my goal was to get drunk.
Haha yeah I'm trying to quit drinking... looking for some relaxation tools. I use CBD quite a bit

foghat live--1st thing i did when i got to phillipines was buy me a stereo--no way i was taking my gear with me!!!

i bought several albums at music store at the market and foghat was the one me and my fillipino buddies all liked to get drunk on mojo and jam too. 'i just want to make love to you' got played every dammed day, lol.

THC is amazing. I have zero desire or temptation from the drink anymore. I hit the bar every Friday with my buddies but I hit my little THC pen. It does wonders for the problems associated with a lot of city miles on the body as well.

I use to get paranoid from weed sometimes....how strong do you go with the THC?

VA would bust my ass for thc....phenibut does pop on drug screen.

Benzos are basically alcohol in a pill form. Theyre both GABAa receptor agonists.

With your history id be very careful with benzo usage.

My sweet spot is around 15-25mg anymore than that and I get couch locked. I just like a slightly relaxed high. I still am able to get out on the dance floor and flail around like the Caucasian I am with my wife so it’s not excessive. Now if I am hurting or just want to pass out and sleep till mid morning then I will bump it to 35-50mg. But for me that level is comatose already.

I should add the pen is for Friday nights and gummies are for night time use at home after all my work is done. The only issue is when I fly out for work I am left without it, on a positive note it is not habit forming and I don’t crave it or look for it while working.

absolutely, my reference was from my experience back in druggie/drinking days...these days i am prescribed 0.25mg alprazolam for sleep but rarely use it..... phenibut is the only recreational drug i use.

Indica or sativa? I always get mixed up

CBD didn’t do anything for sleep latency, duration or depth :(

However, if I drink Somatomax from Hi-tech (phenibut- huge dose I’m guessing since it’s the first ingredient and in total 14g blend). I have FANTASTIC sleep.

NAC has some research behind it for reducing alcohol seeking behaviors. It may be worth a try if you don't already use it....it is cheap enough that even if it doesn't work it is still a healthy addition.

valiant thor recommended that to me--great sleep.

ted nugent-STRANGLEHOLD...old ted really nailed this one, by far my favorite ted song!!!!

Images and Words is the one I can listed through the whole thing no problem. One of the all time great albums in my books.

I quit over 20 years ago, did make me paranoid, burn, lazy, etc....Dont regret some of the fun times I had with it but 23rd birthday was my last blunt.

I have been offered first round for it both with DoD and with the VA. I’m going to wait this one out. I just had the rona so my immune system should be good for awhile. I think the thing that might get me to take the vaccine is if it will exempt me from taking the test. I have taken 4 of those tests now and I will stick anything in my blood if it means not having to do those fucking swab tests. Military guidance has not provided an exemption for testing or quarantine so I’m out for now.
I wouldn’t be surprise me at all if I would test positive for antibodies. It seems nearly impossible that I haven’t had countless micro exposures. Nobody is pushing or even talks about antibody testing at my work though.

Anyway, I officially signed up for my first round of the vaccine on Wednesday afternoon. Respiratory were one of the few groups at the hospital to be prioritized for the first wave. We never get anything, so I couldn’t pass it up....haha! I will let everyone know how shytty- or not shytty I feel afterward. Something tells me I may be in for a bit more than I bargained for.
Real world, vvvvv I say not....almost nobody properly wears masks. Overall I still think they help a little but its over-rated political bullshyt. What works more than anything is isolation.

The World Health Organization offers advice for the public on how to use masks to protect against coronavirus infection:
  • Inspect the mask for any holes or tears to make sure that it's intact.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol before putting on the mask.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with the mask and make sure no gaps exist between it and your face.
  • Avoid touching the mask while using it. Touching the front of your mask, which is exposed to the environment, can defeat the purpose of using it.
  • If you do touch your mask, wash or sanitize your hands immediately.
  • When your mask gets damp, replace it.
  • Do not reuse these single-use masks.
  • Remove your mask from behind rather than touching the front of the mask.
  • Discard the used mask immediately in a closed trash bin and clean your hands again.
If only hospitals could adhere to these same standards for their employees. Reusing 1 surgical mask and 1 N95 (exposed to positive aerosolized droplets) throughout the day is ridiculous. I can’t tell you how many times a positive contaminated mask ended up snapping back into my eye area or upper lips when trying to reapply it without touching it! Good times!

Thats because they probably know you have a 99.8% chance of surviving if you got it and be just fine.

As of today I officially call the CCP-Virus dead....

From now this lethal dangerous virus will be named Covid-1984.

I like Phenibut, but use it very very rarely. I don't take it near sleep because I wake up groggy.

Max twice a week for me, but typically only use once a month.

Is there a specific reason or occasion you use it? I dont know much about it.

Usually after an intense week at work, or if I have an exceptionally intense day I'll use it.

I use it less now than I did a few years ago. I used Picamilon a lot back then as well
