Starting a blast one month after finishing a blast

I’ve been blasting and cruising for close to 2yrs. Usually on TRT dose test. I’ve been on a blast for 9 weeks of test 500 pinned @250 E3D. I planned to end my blast on Oct 30 which would make 12 weeks. Thing is there is a competition for PL on Feb 20th that just opened registration and I’d like to have another 12 week blast under my belt in order to compete. This would mean only 4 weeks break at TRT dose before increasing again. How detrimental would this really be?

Why can't you stop now and give yourself 4 more weeks to recover before you begin the run up to the comp?
I have a scheduled PR I have to hit on OCT 30 to make it onto a team. It’s a mock meet

I think everybody would recommend taking more than one month off. Are you able to donate blood before the next cycle? Can you afford to work with an Endo to try to get things back to good? Maybe start HCG now (blast it hard at the end of the month) and start PCT mid Oct?

He blasts/cruises so no PCT.

Whats your next 12wk blast OP? I wouldnt be overly concerned, theres certainly worse things you could do. Madstax has a point though, a CBC might be a good idea to check hcrit etc

Yeah I can donate for sure. Should do it on the off month right? Next blast will also just be test with maybe a little EQ

I would do a CBC when you start the next blast and donate if needed at the beginning of that blast. That should keep you good through the comp. If the hcrit is fine, check again mid-blast.

Agree with @Nac

it ain’t gonna kill you and there’s guys out there that would just blast to the comp anyway smashing 100mg a day of anadrol at the same time.

but as always it’s weighing up risk vs rewards. Time off is to let the body recover and reset its natural status. I’d take the month and go again but plan to have 6 months off afterwards personally.

as a side note I wouldn’t run eq for 12 weeks to come into a meet unless you know that compound works for you in that timeframe and for that purpose....

id be more inclined to go test first 6 weeks and maybe tren plus adrol for the last 6 with suspension, halotest etc the day of The comp

I’ve never actually used EQ but it’s been recommended to me by other strength athletes. I can’t run Tren too many sides from previous experiences and it’s not worth the trade off to ruin my sleep and give me anxiety and what not

EQ is typically a slow bulked. Adds quality size and not much water (probably been recommended as it won’t suddenly throw you up multiple weight classes.

but 12 weeks is a touch short (not saying not worth it just making the point as it’s worth a consideration).

adrol for last 6 with test throughout probably the way I’d go

You don’t need to be on 12 weeks to prep for a meet if you are only going to be cruising for something like 8 weeks.

For one, drop your extra oils out a week prior to this mock meet (since you’re not using Tren this drop won’t affect your strength). Josh Bryant uses this approach with his guys because the levels will still be high at the meet only a week later, but it gets you back to cruise sooner and decreases blood pressure/improves stamina at the meet. I have done this the last 2 meets and PR’d both times. Orals need to stay in obviously if they were part of the plan. This is also how most athletes compete internationally in strongman. Let the long ester oils drop and bring orals in vitamin containers. Works just fine.

So drop the oils out a week prior to the mock, then do an 8-10 week blast before the meet. You could even start the eq at 12 weeks out and stop your TRT test for a couple weeks. The test that’s still clearing plus the eq will be enough to carry you that first 2 weeks while giving the eq the time it needs to build some steam, then add the test back in full force.

So now you’ve got 7-8 weeks of cruise/nearly cruise levels as opposed to 4, with the same power when it counts and nearly double the time off blast. Coupled with a donation when off, and you are taking much better care of your health.

Remember, it ONLY matters on the platform. You need to train hard all of the time. You do not need to train heavy all of the time. If you need proof of this, look up how Sam Byrd became an ATWR squatter in and out of gear. The same way Dr. Squat became the first man to squat 1,014, at 45 years old and at 220lbs no less. You simply ramp the weights up close to the meet as you ramp the gear up. The rest of the time, training is about building technique and accumulating a base of work capacity to translate in the transformation and realization phases.

A different perspective but Hyde's is good too.

Former PLer here. I'd extend the cruise two weeks and do a 10 week prep. If you're not strong enough to make the team now you'll be flirting with injury chasing a big jump in strength. Cruise is the ambiguous part because it's a different thing for everyone. As a performance athlete, my cruise is 300mg Test weekly and ramp up later. For body composition, I can cruise on 140mg Test and do very well. These are very different goals, hence a different need for mentalities and approaches.

You could also go super old school and ramp doses over the 12 weeks to build a bit of break in.
1-2: 200mg Test
3-4: 300mg Test
5-6: 400mg Test
7-12: 600mg Test (I don't get any increased gains from higher than this with Test)

Add in the strength injectables/orals the last four weeks and go for broke.
