Different countries will have different diversity groups. African Americans will make up a larger number of your population as that is their country.

Maoris make up a decent chunk of our population as this is their country. We are surrounded by the islands so a lot of Polynesians emigrated here for greater opportunities. Not that controversial.

I've said numerous times that it is everywhere, including here. I've literally given examples of what I've witnessed with my African and indigenous friends.

I never pretend that racism doesn't exist.
 
I've also said our suicide, mental health and family violence numbers are huge, and discussed mandatory police attendance to these because of how big of an issue it is.

I'm as open to talk about NZs issues as anyone, but these are often ignored because I'm the only one ITT from NZ

I think that is completely reasonable. The problem for me started when the demonstrations became an exponentially larger issue for everyone than the proposed initial problems. Which has essentially been all of it. ;)

Yeah I agree. The longer demonstrations go for, typically the more violent they become. I find it's usually because the majority of the good ones attend once or twice, then those just looking for trouble try keep the fires fanned.

and cnn anchor saying protests were peaceful while showing buildings on fire in background.

i think even you were hesitant to see them as violent in the beginning. the longer the violence was allowed to continue the more emboldened the troublemakers became--kind of like a wildfire that isn't put out right away and then it becomes out of control-eh?

I just don’t understand when it’s going to end, what exactly would constitute a defining moment for BLM obtaining their objective? Clearly it’s not raising awareness as they initially claimed. We were all made fully aware of their narrative well within the first week of George Floyd’s death.

Political and media objectives aside, BLM seems to have no intentions of relenting. Based on resent BLM posts, seems they only intend to increase their presence and influence.

Yes, I am confident that Trump will win.

Unfortunately, there will also be ongoing backlash and violence from those who supported Biden. That will be the next crisis to add on the list.

Yeah, some twisted people out there definitely associate Trump with white supremacy, as well as his supporters. The backlash is anticipated to be rather significant. Similar to the violence we see directed at Trump supporters at rallies or the RNC, but on a larger scale.

They claimed this was only for systematic oppression of blacks, but its turned into a billion dollar political ses-pool. They are never ever going anywhere even if we gave them the keys to every police station in the country tomorrow and let them run the joint.

I wouldn’t be able to live with myself, yet I’m also too worried about vandalism if I put a Trump/Pence sign in my yard.

At this point, I may as well make the best of it and just f*ck with people by putting

I have a Biden sign. I use it for a target when I go to the range. I always like to ask democrats for signs. It makes them think they have supporters and I get free range signs. Here is my latest one behind my rifle bags.Invalid Link Removed

This is probably true. It is how we ended up here. It isn't like these riots just started either, they have just become more mainstream.

I was watching a video a Seattle Journalist put up about Antifa and she was saying these "protests" have been taking place every year since Obama was in office and the police in the city have just come to expect that there will be violence and destruction during these protests. It is obvious it is a group of people who have malicious intent and will use any excuse they will be allowed to get away with to justify it.

And we have become so twisted and soft that somehow it is wrong to be against these, because protesting is American!

Now, I am aware that even MLK back in the day had protests that became violent and he was criticized for it at the time...but from my perspective I cannot see any justified good from this movement.

I agree that he lacks objectivity - which may be part of the reason he is having trouble with the comprehension - but he also lacks comprehension. Even if you are biased, words have meanings. Either way, two things a journalist *should* strive for that are clearly lacking in this individual - objectivity and reading comprehension.

The incident happened Saturday at the Metro Blue Line station at Willowbrook Avenue and Compton Boulevard around 7 p.m. The location is a short distance from the Compton sheriff's station.


Surveillance video of the shooting shows the suspect ambush the deputies as they sat in the patrol vehicle.

A man clad in dark clothing walks up to the parked vehicle at the Metro station, approaches the window on the passenger's side and fires several times at close range. The suspect then runs off on foot. One deputy is seen emerging from the passenger side and stumbling around on foot for several seconds before the video ends.

Both deputies sustained multiple gunshot wounds and underwent surgery at a local hospital. They were described as alive but in critical condition.

"That was a cowardly act," Sheriff Alex Villanueva said. "The two deputies were doing their job, minding their own business, watching out for the safety of the people on the train."

"To see somebody just walk up and start shooting on them. It pisses me off. It dismays me at the same time. There's no pretty way to say it."
