I’ve been researching a lot lately due to abnormal symptoms that drs haven’t been able to diagnose yet.. And by chance came across info on the herb Passion flower & a lot of people were saying it’s doing wonders for their anxiety. Even saying it’s as good or better than benzos w out the high they can give which is exactly what I need if so. I can’t take benzos since my anxiety is extremely, extreme & I started having to take higher than prescribed doses to get any relief & became addicted before I even realized it. I’m happy to be off of them but have just been trying to deal w it on my own & it’s not working at all, my anxiety is actually getting worse and nothing I’ve been prescribed since helps.. If you know anything about what I’m going through & have info on Passion flower, would you agree it’s helpful or recommend it? Any suggestions appreciated, thanks!

If you're curious, I'd recommend finding a supplement and trying it, as it won't make your symptoms worse. Studies show some benefit in some people (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11679026/ ), but as somebody who has suffered from severe anxiety, I'm extremely skeptical. Even if it does work acutely, it might not work long-term.

There are other pharma options that aren't benzos and I'm more than happy to discuss options here or in a private message if you feel more comfortable that way.

I appreciate ur thoughts on this. I’m skeptical myself but wasn’t sure if it could be a bad idea anyhow. Sounds safe but I just didn’t really know. I would like to hear about other meds u think may help, here or in a message, I’m fine with either. Thanks !

What are your typical symptoms when experiencing anxiety and what meds have you tried? Are there certain events or other triggers that cause your anxiety or make it worse? Anything that you've found that helps (can be medication or anything else like exercise or meditation, etc)?
