Donald Trump running for president

Umm, a handful, I guess. What length of time are we talking about. Do you think people in trailer parks are the only ones in poverty?

Im not claiming all poor people live in trailer parks, thats just some of what Ive seen first hand. Not everybody in trailer parks are fraudsters.

What I can tell you welfare becomes generational, its a state of mind. Many children get groomed into this system which is a concern for me.

Even when my grandmother was still alive 5 years ago, she would ask me how I was doing, and if the government is giving me any money.

Start

// Short of it
// Illegal Immigrants bad > Enter Covid-19 > Nobody wants to come here > Solved.

but;
if;
No illegal or undocumented workers to pick them crops;
then;
Farmers are plowing their yield into the field
else;

// Now what?

// Lock down the border!...
// but, Covid-19
// and nobody wants to come here anyway.
// oh, it's just to appease some base.
// got it. Mostly boomers, hillbillies, and racists

End;

A mixture of C#; Fortran; COBOL and BASIC from my recollection.
My syntax sucks. But it was fun to write.

I think the immigration problem is overblown and used as the scapegoat for bad corporate behavior. "It's not our fault we didn't give you a raise, benefits, etc. It's the immigrants." Meanwhile those same corporations are shipping the jobs directly to the immigrants' home countries.
I guess we see things differently...I blame the liberalism of baby boomers of which I am one, for allowing corporations to get away with all the bad behavior, our parents would have never allowed this to happen.

it is my honest opinion, that my generations liberalism put us in the mess we are in...the reason my generation[baby boomers]are conservative now and not liberal is because we realize how dangerous liberalism is to our country---we are trying unsuccessfully it seems, to put the genie back in the bottle!!!!

When it comes to immigration, I gotta say, it looks like you're right. I found some of that empirical evidence that I like so much that basically proves your position (again, at least the immigration piece of it.)

it is good that you trust the government so much, lol.

most of 'empirical' evidence comes from government agencies....personally I know it's true because I witnessed it happen in my lifetime.

honestly, my generation is to blame for the mess we are in---unintended consequences of what we thought was a good thing-LIBERALISM!!!

the younger generation is being stupid by not looking at mistakes made by my generation, baby boomers are mostly conservative because we see the errors we made---although most are unwilling to admit this, I see it clearly.

I'm only posting stats for illegal immigration from Mexico since that is what YOU are referring to when you say illegal immigration, but it doesn't start in 1976. The non-brown illegal immigration goes back much further.

A gov issued document?!?! I thought we didn't trust those guys.

only when it suits my agenda, right?:)

humans are biased by nature and will always spin things to the way they want them to be.

even statistical data can be open to interpretation.

True you have to vet your sources but this line of thinking quickly gets to a sort of intellectual nihilism. We'll never know anything for sure so why try to know anything?

because we like to find reinforcement for our beliefs!!!

most people who believe something will go out of their way to find evidence to support what they believe, very few will look for evidence to disprove their belief. and if something does go against their belief look to find someway to spin it so they can deny it...this is human nature, imo.

I guess a lot of people are like that but I still think there's still a good amount of objective truth out there and that we're better off relying on evidence than anecdotes.

anecdotes are personal experience-right?

what is 'OBJECTIVE' TRUTH?

even scientific opinion is debatable and not every scientist will agree...not to mention science evolves and many theories that were once accepted as truth have been proven to have flaws.

tell me your definition of objective truth????

It is objectively true that 1+1=2. Newton's laws are objectively true. It is objectively true that Carole Baskin killed her husband. You know, that sort of thing.

aren't scientists working on ways to 'defy' newton's laws of gravity in ways that 20 years ago would not be thought of as possible...look at cern collider, a lot of things once thought impossible might happen-eh?

a certain person who i won't name once contradicted something that I had personally experienced from my high school days with 'evidence' to contrary...it turned out the evidence neglected to include that suburb schools in Indianapolis started busing at a different date than inner city schools like I attended.

...and that was evidence that your original assertion was accurate.

Objective evidence that's cogent to whatever audience you're trying to persuade.
I am a pretty confident guy, but I know I can be wrong about different topics because I realize there are many things I don't have answers for...but don't question me on something I know from personal experience-busing was something I lived through and I have no doubt about what I experienced.

Indianapolis didn't have busses for inner city high schools back in the day, so they gave us bus tickets to ride the city busses back and forth to school. is that something you think you would forget?????????

indianapolis incorporated to include local townships [suburbs] inner city kids like me got bussed, wealthy suburb kids didn't until later when federal judge made it mandatory.

pick something from your childhood that you know happened...some kid shows you a article that says it didn't happen.

hey man, you couldn't have grown up in the house you say you did, here's a article saying it wasn't built yet...would you then believe that you didn't grow up in the house you know you grew up in because of a article from a kid who wasn't even born then?

I get what you're saying and I would trust my own experience / memory but at the same time I would consider the possibility that my experience was somewhat unique and perhaps the article was more indicative of the general trend at that time.

but what if that person insisted that you didn't grow up in the house you grew up in because of a article he found?

would you then say hey he must be right, lol?

That was me. I somehow pissed him off when he came crawling for medical advice. Anyway, yeah, this white dude from southern Indiana argued against busing facts from California because it's not what he saw on his own bus on the other side of the country.

To bring all the others up to speed Invalid Link Removed Indiana busing history from the Indiana government blog which refers to all busing in the Indianapolis area...or the fading memory of what happened on a single bus

No. If I really cared to, I'd show evidence that I did in fact, grow up in said house.

lol...you would bother with some kid who says you didn't grow up where you grew up at?

will the real @nostrum420 please stand up...maybe you need to prove you are really you, lol.

That's where the "if I really cared to" portion of my statement comes in.
lol. good answer.

and for the record I attended a inner city school in indianapolis from 72-76...there definately was bussing during my time in high school. i lived in a predominately black neighborhood 3 blocks from raymond street projects affectionately know as brick city. manual high school was a rough place back then, racial tensions in indianapolis at that time were very high.

just like the CCR song says-I aint no fortunate son.... I grew up dirt poor in a dirt poor neighborhood.

Who here thinks President Obama wasn’t a US citizen?

Im honestly not sure, there is a legal loophole in Hawaii that allows anybody born overseas to get a valid US certificate which I found directly on their own .gov website. As far as Im concerned, anybody born in hawaii is suspect.

I consider him American, but I believe his birth certificate was an absolute phony and it was to possibly conceal who his real father was. Then there was that plane accident the birth certificate registrar lady crashed in during all the commotion back in the day.

Fact check: I am the most unbiased person you have ever met online. Smart people believe everything I say.

When it comes to politics and government policies evidence isnt going to get you too far but often leave with more questions.

btw-where is bob muelar? it's like he has been abducted by aliens.

I have a good idea where he is...just sayin

So seriously, if you tested positive and the government wants contact tracing so they can locate and track everybody you have been in contact with so they can quarantine them for 2 weeks, will you guys all comply?

I can imagine these snitch and tell policies can create alot of enemies....at least where I come from, you will have to buy new car tires.

On another note, Id have no problem privately trying to let people know.

I haven't really been around anyone I care about, so, yeah, sure. Why not?
