You do know that Biden showing or not showing signs of cognitive issues is not dependent on Trump also showing, or not showing, similar, lesser, or worse signs of the same issues, right?
Trump has had some insane tweets, and some very tasteless statements, that is not debatable, but Biden has also showed some pretty alarming instances of completely forgetting what he's saying, changing subjects mid-sentence, rambling about nothing, or very strange/random things, etc. Some people consider it rather "alarming," since he clearly wasn't always like this, so people think something is happening and/or has happened to him in this regard.

I’ve seen a LOT of Bernie supporters using this as an argument against Biden when Bernie was still running (so up until this morning lol). I wonder how many of them will stick to their guns here against Biden, and how many will change their tune and support him now that he’s essentially up against Trump for the actual election, not Bernie for the party nomination.

I heard that. What I would look at is overall poverty ratio and then look at diet, lifestyle which includes both nutrition, drinking/smoking...BMI...etc....
The good news is everybody is getting poor really fast and more people will be prone to disease and death than ever before. Add in suicide rate probably tripling and government did a great job. Buy hey in a few months after your dead you get $1,200 in your bank account to offset part of the funeral costs your dead azz owes.

Yes, I saw this. I also recently learned that African Americans died more often during the 1918 Flu as well, and I believe they get the flu at a higher rate than everyone else.
One theory I saw was Vitamin D levels - dark skin produces less vitamin d than lighter skin.
And of course, there are a lot of socio-economic factors as well as Ax said. In this case, I would bet anyone who lives in an apartment complex in close proximity to others is at a high risk. Make those apartment complexes smaller, more run down, with lower standards...and you have a real risk.
And, I also believe that there may be some racism when treating a black person, or at the very least poor people in general get lesser care.

not really...people who are still working are going to be griping when people laid off are getting half of regular pay plus a $600 weekly bonus...it's going to be hard to get my guys to come back to work-they will be taking a pay cut. if you were making $600 a week you will now be getting $900 to stay home and do nothing.

They just extended that $600 unemployment check by 13 more weeks after the Fed-expires today here in NY. I think that takes all to August. All that paid by NY on behalf of Cuomo claiming the Fed-Gov will repay that but cant wait for them to approve. Imagine running your business here???
I gotta work, Im non-essential but being a sole proprietor, creating a business for myself and living the life for years I dont get any unemployment checks at all. I have to go outside everyday and put myself and others at risk in public places. Other than that crappy $1,200 that will appear in my account (that will cost us each probably 10s of thousands more over a lifetime through inflation) I dont get crap other than its going to cost me money to pay for others to take a vacation while keeping myself and my family at risk.

I think you have to show business loss. My business increased some 50% or more because of the crisis. I cant stop because I cant depend on them hope I qualify. What they dont see is that its now hard for me to replenish stocks and Im drying up, my gain now is a risk big loss tomorrow. Plus, $600 a week aint shyt in NY if you own a home so that gives me more incentive to work harder so I can survive better. I need to take more risks in stock (physical goods) once all this mess clears up and I need to save as much as possible.

that is great...but restaurant employees and those working in the service industry won't have any motivation to come back to work, imo. I look for many to run scams to stay on UI.

Not to mention extended periods of unemployment don’t always look great to potential employers (as in remaining unemployed once “business as normal” is back), and if/when places open up again, some of them may need new employees, and that could be a good way for some people who lost their jobs to get another, potentially better job.
Maybe I’m just trying to see the bright side of things, but, in the long run, as in over the course of years/life, intentionally remaining unemployed to make money and not have to work probably isn’t the wisest career choice, even if it seems promising to people in the short-term.

a lot of people are truly broke right now..here in Indiana they haven't started paying out UI yet and a lot of people who live paycheck to paycheck haven't had a payday for 3 weeks and longer...unfortunately when they start getting those hefty UI paydays many will automatically rush to walmart or online spending and not save for rainy day. sad but true!!!

Whats even more retarded is that you probably still have to pay income tax on that $600 paycheck, ROFL!!!! Can anyone confirm? I would think you can defer the tax payment to a later date but thats a guess.

due to tourist industry being shut down I bet there are a whole lot of service employees out of work...going on 3rd week many have been without a paycheck, and I bet very few have savings, my prayers go out to them...if I were in their shoes and had kids going hungry I would be right there with them!!!

Which jobs would that include? Would that include ALL businesses deemed essential that are still open (and workers are not working from home, of course)? I know there's the obvious ones like anyone in the medical/healthcare field, as well as grocery store workers, but what about other essential business workers who are still working but aren't quite so obvious. For example, read the list of A thru GG (so it went from A-Z, then started back at AA and made it all the way to GG) of essential services from Florida.

1 think the 1st step would be 1st responders and healthcare employees, maybe give tax break to employers that are willing to give essential employees at least time and a half.

what about all the illegals who are working off the books...in agriculture states they will keep working because they are essential, but since they are off the books they wouldn't be eligible for unemployment and would have little choice but to keep working even if infected/sick, this could create a massive problem.

From a different perspective, thats the job they signed up for. Do I appreciate what they do and want them to get paid for their hours? Of course I do. Paying them more? The problem here is this country is broke, broke and broke.
