Interest in hand sanitizer?

delsolrob

Hand Sanitizer is OOS everywhere and no one seems to be expecting more stock for a month.! We have everything on hand to make some, would you guys be interested in us making a run of hand sanitizer?

Running the numbers, for a limited run it would likely be about $8 a 30ml bottle to do a short production run (we likely wouldn't be making these in massive bulk).

But, wanted to see if there was interest.

I'd pass personally. Listerine works just fine and theres plenty of it around

Cheap vodka is cheap and readily available.

Grain alcohol is the only thing high enough to make an impact. Owner of Tito’s cane out to make people aware of that.

I call it all "listerine" lol
Total volume must be over 60% alcohol. If you have 70% and then dilute it more with other ingredients then it’s no longer strong enough.

vodka is 40%, again...doesn’t work

Definitely a good way to meet a supply need, but have people forgotten that soap is actually the MVP? Granted, hand sanitizer is easy to apply, but it doesnt take long to wash your hands and you should be doing this reasonably frequently anyway

when out and about and there's not stations to wash your hands, comes in really handy!

COVID-19 can live on surfaces for 3 days...that's crazy!

Where did you see that? I Thought it was a week or something.

"We found that viable virus could be detected in aerosols up to 3 hours post aerosolization, up to 4 hours on copper up to 24 hours on cardboard and up to 2-3 days on plastic and stainless steel"

3 hours post aerosolization...does that mean it’s truly airborne? What does that mean?

Definitely, so I mean you may as well do a limited run!

I trust info from Israel far more than here, where it's a politicised **** show.

I never said it's airborne. Aerosol isn't airborne, but covid-19 does pass through droplets when somebody coughs or sneezes.

No. Airborne means you can spread it by just opening your mouth or talking. Aerosol is accurate here in that covid-19 needs a carrier like droplets that pass when somebody sneezes or coughs.

That's not Israel's stance and really? You're using Israel as an example of being non-political? Regardless, you found the opinion of one virologist. Most US-based virologists would probably say the exact same thing.

I didn't say Israel is non-political. I implied their info on the subject is less tainted by politics and elections than here.

Has anyone mentioned soap and water yet? I know it's not usable on the go but it's in every public toilet, restaurant etc.
Edit: Ok I just read the earlier comment

We are not making hand sanitizer, because it would require special licensing/etc

we are making a alcohol based hand gel available that is 65% alcohol

Ingredients:

Ethyl Alcohol (190 Proof), distilled water, propylene glycol, glycerine, carbomer, triethanolamine

Thank you so much for doing this...I just ordered 3!

I always keep hand sanitizer in my car regardless, but it’s even more important for me currently..

praying for you guys on the front line...thanks for the purchase @Ricky10

Don't know if this a location issue or what but this alcohol hand sanitizer gel is £1 for 200ml bottle here in the UK so $15 for one is freaking crazy to me

#1 - is't $10.50 after the 30% off we're running site wide

I can't speak for what the costs of things are there. But, our airless pump bottles alone (just the cost of the empty bottles) is $2.25. We're using the same alcohol (190 proof organic cane alcohol) that we use in dermacrine and our other gels...just the federal tax on a 5 gallon container is about $170 (just this tax accounts for about $1.10 per bottle), and that's on top of the price of the Alcohol (not cheap - you could cut this down with distilled water and make organic cane vodka). we're not making 10,000 units...we made a couple hundred. it's bit of labor to setup and clean the production equipment and then run production...then clean and tear down production. Distilled water is almost impossible to get right now. And, alcohol is basically sold out nation wide...I saw a site charging $400 for 1 gallon of Isopropyl Alcohol. We're not using cheap ingredients, these are the high end materials we use on our other products.

So, I agree, when the market is open, you can get these things a lot cheaper...but, don't think we're cashing in on this. If we can't get more when we need another batch of products made (dermacrine, sustain alpha, iconogenin, or the new release of ICON ONE), we're gonna eat some serious costs. We're trying to do what we can to help people get what they need when it's sold out everywhere.

Same. Glad i am normally a clean freak so was already stocked up before all this started.

Yikes, hey I'm not knocking your hustle bro capitalise on the situation all day, that's business, but in my opinion people buying up all this sanitizer, pasta, toilet paper etc should just calm down. Just my opinion and I got the same right as anyone to post it whether people like it or not
I can tell you this though as a healthcare provider, this was literally the best news I heard all week. I saw it as nothing but a selfless effort to help people out that didn’t have a chance to get an extra bottle of two before the hoarding. While it costs more than what Purell would normally be, the reasons behind that were explained.

You should be appreciative of people/companies that are trying to help out rather than give them grief..

i use a good ol sky vodka lol

thisssss... soap and water is far more effective vs hand sanitizer

That’s what I do at home. In the hospital it’s a mix of both depending on the situation, accessibility to sinks, and other protocols that are just standard practice.

In my car though, sanitizer it is!

thanks @Ricky10 like rob explained the profit margin for this is very low, the way I see it is it is his way of giving back.

Oh for f@cks sake I deleted that comment 1 minute after posting because I new some shill simp would pipe up, it's raining and hes selling umbrellas that's fine I'd do the same that's capitalism. My point is that I think people are mental for paying over the odds for something just because it's hard to get temporarily. And ricky10 why don't you put him in for the Nobel prize for his efforts to save humanity, get f@ckin over yourself man

I’m not quite sure what I did, but OK!

maybe his cortisol levels are high...needs some Neuro AET 👍

We're giving away a bottle of Neuro AET with orders over $100 at iconicformulations.com it's also good for boosting immune response and has been researched to improve chances of survival against lethal viruses :D

BTW: all pending order of hand gel should go out today.

I deleted the comment for a reason, if I've nothing nice to say, say nothing but you were quick on the draw and replied before it went down and I got triggered so maybe was over the top but you did accuse me of griefing when I did no such thing. The way people get their a$$ kissed just because they sell some supplements on this forum is just too much sometimes. You got some stuff to sell, cool, maybe I buy maybe I don't but as a potential customer I can judge a product as I see fit without all the fanboys running in to save their hero

@Ricky10 not trying to get at you, its just the over the top brand loyalty gets too much sometimes which I always ignore but then if ppl are gunna come at me for saying what I think then I will have to speak up

It’s OK, I know everyone is a bit “testy” these days. I just took a Kanna-Z too so I am totally chill.:)

Yes, I am a supplement company whore if there ever was one! No loyalty whatsoever!

I will say that when I was picking out a topical 7-KT product, I had to stick with Iron Legion because I know it works, and I didn’t want to risk being disappointed by other manufacturers products that were similar.
