Hey fellas, just wanted to let you know that I picked up a blend of ox bile and digestive enzymes from a reputable company. I’ve heard many good things about ox bile for digestion. I’ve been having problems with my stomach and digestion for quite a while. My gallbladder was tested and had some issues, so we’ll see if I get relief. I’ll keep this thread updated .

I’ll usually experience discomfort/fullness and pain within the upper right region of my abdomen and around the belly button, usually above it.

I just wanted to point out for the guys on oral aas, ph, sarms; Ox bile is apparently very good for liver health as keeping the bile production healthy will in turn, help the liver function better.

Has anyone had success with ox bile

I’ll keep this thread updated

If this doesn’t work, I’m considering trying TUDCA .

I’m already using cayenne, AVC w/ the mother, cinnamon, beet root and turmeric.

Digestive enzymes make things worse.
Probiotics never did much for me but I may give them another shot

General ibs issues . Went to doctors but they don’t do much. Hate talking about it but I more so deal with IBS - C. Feels like a guy motility issue as well

I also get this fullness/lumpy thing in the areas I described. Could be a hernia but not sure. I don’t digest certain carbohydrates very well and fats give me problems as well. The best diet I’ve found is close to carnivore more myself personally

PM’d you btw

Not full carnivore. I still include certain veggies /fruit such as cucumber, arugula, spinach, some tomato, berries, etc.

I’ll also carb cycle with oatmeal, and or sweet potatoes.

Tried cream of rice recently and didn’t really like how it felt

Something forgot to mention - my symptoms always flare up horribly when transitioning from summer to winter so it’s been bad but not as bad as usual as I’m doing more things and staying more active than usual. But once April rolls around, my symptoms get relief

I have been dealing with IBS-C over the last 18 months. I have great insurance, so I've done every test in the book and tried all the top meds. Still no answer to what triggers my flare ups. I currently have it under control, and feeling great. I'll co.e back in here with more info on my routine for you.

Please do it. Honestly , I’d rather IBS D lmao.

Man , it interferes with life soo much.

I do have secondary hypogonadism and I was reading that estrogen can cause worse symptoms , so maybe it has to do with hormone imbalance but not sure.

Please post your routine

I'll spare you everything that hasn't worked for me. Test results from blood work, endoscopy, colonoscopy, anorectal manometry and allergy testing all turned up no answers other than a slight hiatal hernia and maybe a possible allergy to wheat. I failed Linzess(linaclotide) which is the strongest med they have($400 a month without insurance). I was left to only daily saline enemas for any relief, but over time that created horrible gut inflimation.

Butyric Acid: This is my latest discovery and maybe the best thing I have done for myself. Butyric acid is usually fermented by bacteria in the gut, and has a host of benefits from being an energy source for colonocytes, creating a favorable environment for the gut biome, but most importantly increases gut transit time/motility rather well. Been in remission since about a week into this. I use sodium-butyrate.

Digestive Enzymes: I use Biocore. They have a great profile. Doesn't help my constipation alone, but is reassurance that I'm atleast breaking down the food I eat.

Magnesium: I use a blend(capsules) that is mostly citrate. No need to get to deep into this. Magnesium is an osmotic laxative, magnesium citrate drinks and milk of magnesia are very popular. Find a dose that works best for you, that doesn't cause diarrhea, but softens the stool enough.

Probiotics: Most blends are B.S. and it's hard to get through all the trash to find some gems. Some strains such as bifidobacterium lactis and lactobacillus plantarum have great data for helping gut motility. Pure Therapro -Power Probiotic Daily is the best I've used to date.

Cascara Sagrada: Only laxative that actually works for me without being too strong, and actually helps make me regular. I take it only when I am feeling backed up and it usually gets me back on track in a day or two.

I'll be back with a part two on some diet related advice, and a few other supplements that you can experiment with. And a few exercises.

Yup been dealing with IBS-d for close to 6 years now. Flare ups are random with no real rhyme or reason. But when the flare ups happen I’m down for the count. Sucks...

We sound exactly the same

Okay I have not tried these yet except for one. Will add some of this. I was ready to beg for a prescription of linzess . Good thing I didn’t as it wasn’t effective for you

Saline enemas suck and I read you should just use water. It’s still irritating but less

Thanks you brother and I’m in for your diet advice

Horrible man. I’m so sorry to hear what you are going through. And yes, flare ups make me feel VERY dark at times. I hate when you get a flare up at the WORSE time in your life when you need to be up and going. This is usually when they occur, though.

I always get flare ups when, like I said, going from summer to winter.

2 days into the ox bile and I really do think it’s helping a bit. I just feel less bloated.

Also the GDA and natty anabolics seem to help.

The weird thing is CREAM OF RICE bothers me more than oatmeal . I just don’t get it. This is a food that supposedly should cause no issues.

Can’t eat whole eggs, but egg whites I can deal with somewhat

Fatty cuts of meat = no

Chicken breast , depends on the day but this is my main source of protein

Dairy = noooo way lol

All fish , I am fine with

For direct sources of fat, I can’t. Avocados and nuts even.

Veggies = tomato , cucumber, spinach, arugula, romaine, squash = g2g

yup chicken and fish are the easiest for me but like you said chicken has to be limited because my stomach will freak out haha avocados oddly enough don’t cause many issues unless it’s a large amount like guacamole.

@Iwilleattuna Hows your digestion going?

Been thinking about making a thread dedicated to IBS-C, if you or anyone are interested. Most info would probably spill over into other types of IBS/digestive issues.

I try to use the Cascara as infrequent as possible. I will still stand by that the Sodium-Butyrate is the best thing that O have done for my IBS. I've been regular for about 95% of the time I've been on it.

Have you seen a doctor and had any tests run to rule out cancer, colitis, celiacs, etc?

@Iwilleattuna Start adding Kiwis to your diet. Two a day. Increase of bowel transit time, works as a probiotic helping to positively modify the gut biome, and is a good source of atleast one digestive enzyme.

Evidence points to its effects being based on its specific fiber a d water content. Too much fiber can cause more issues or not. Metamuscle was a big no no for me. This and chia seeds seem to be one of the few that help me most.

When high doses of magnesium make my stool too soft, chia seeds seem to add bulk back in, created a more solid turd.

I'm lazy, but I'll just keep lacing you with everything I've learned over the past year and a half.

BTW: my new GI doctor is sending me to physical therapy as my anorectal manometry showed some slight issue with squeezing and feeling emergency to dedicate too early. Will mostly probably be pelvic floor balancing, and maybe some bio feedback. I'll keep you updated.

I experienced the same thing with fiber. Like this summer I was 0 carb for long time but I notice when I start carb cycling again , all my problems come back and even when it’s inconsistent carb intake which is so strange. High protein can cause issues but it’s better than having water retention from all of the crap in my stomach, literally. Mine almost feel too soft to pass at times.

But, as you mentioned (please keep me updated) , I think I have a pelvic floor issue. My issues also go along with frequent urination. Been dealing with this so long. I think I need to strengthen it.

I noticed if I suck in my stomach and flex I get pain my right lower back and right pelvic area. Now that I mention, the right lower back / pain started when my problems really started.

I think it could be hormonal too but not 100% sure.

Definitely a motility issue.

I bought kiwis and will update

I’m not suicidal but these issue have made me not want to go on at times and I’ll just say , “God, take me” . Just being honest. Been through a lot of f*cked up stuff too. Probably contributes. People forget of how powerful the mind is . I always had an issue of just letting go

Just being honest, idk if it’s similar with you but gets in the way of life, but I’m starting to push through and feel better . Life will never be perfect, just have to stay positive 👍

Everyone promotes rice, but I can’t digest rice at all and causes me bloat. Sweet / regular potatoes feel like they bloat me but they just feel that way . I can eat them and have a completely flat stomach but it feels Uncomfortable. Oatmeal depends on the day, not kidding. I guess I do okay with quinoa. Bananas 👎 apples 👎 . I just can’t seem to digest most carbs. Strawberries in small amounts are okay.

For fats , whole eggs and most saturated fats bother me , even avocados. Olive oil seems to be the best

Veggies- spinach and arugula are my go to. Cucumber is so so , but I usually incorporate it . Tomatoes are alright
Cauliflower I can do ; no broccoli, though.

Cost is always a concern, but it's not really fair to keep saying that the doctors don't know anything if you're not following up with a specialist or letting them perform the tests that they need to. IBS is a really vague term that a lot of times gets labeled to a patients that don't result in a clear diagnosis. I struggled with it for years, had to drop out of college for a semester which set me back a year, and had all kinds of tests done, only to find that I had an extremely healthy GI system while still suffering from the symptoms. For me it was all anxiety and medication for that got it under control, while others have food allergies or something physiologically wrong with their GI system.

I would highly recommend a specialist though. And not just a GI doc, but search around and find somebody that has experience with IBS. Thankfully, it gets a lot more attention and research nowadays.

No man, not saying that at all. The ones I saw didn’t really do anything for me, but there are amazing doctors out there . Ones that care for their patients and do a lot. I think I need to travel to find a good doctor

It could 100% be psychological , I’m really not sure at this points

It's not a fun ride, so please reach out if I can help at all. Hopefully you can see from this post and everybody sharing their similar experiences that you're not alone.

Mine was pretty much all psychological, which doesn't help to hear that it's all in your head. The symptoms are very much real and there is a huge connection between the mind and your gut. And I'm not going to try and diagnose you over the internet, but from this thread and others, you've mentioned things that sound like you could have some sources of stress or anxiety. It's best to get other factors ruled out first though.

Sorry to hear you went through similar.

I agree 100%. both the gut and mind play a role in each other. So true

Thanks for the offer of pm because I'd rather not put everything out and I wont spill my life over a pm ,either but I've been through some stuff. both my sister and I have. Funny that she actually suffers similar issues as I do.

You should at least get that lump checked out by a doctor.

Have you thought of the possibility you could have SIBO?

Honestly I don’t know. Ever since around November, I’ve noticed the swelling get worse and I also get it around my lymph’s in my face. It’s really weird and it happens to me randomly ever since July 2016 summer , where I had a really weird reaction after waking up one day. My cheeks were red and swollen and the same thing was happening with my stomach only worse. Now I can visibly see it. It’s right above my belly button and it’s almost
Football shaped and if I lean back I have one in my lower abs up over my belly button and it become sausage shaped , so I have no clue.

This all sounds like a hernia. Send me a PM if you'd rather not give out personal details, but where are you located and do you have insurance? You really should get checked out.

If it is IBS that you are going through, I would get with Joel Green to figure out the order of operations to go about fixing it. Butyrate production is very important for healing the gut and can be achieved through resistant starches, fiber, and various aminos, but Akermansia and Bifido production should be upregulated and TNF- alpha lowered, iirc. Some people just throw glutamine at it and get good results from healing of the intestinal wall, but I'm thinking that the state of macrophages and the microbiome play a large role in determining whether interventions are successful or not.
